Jesse did a thorough and helpful inspection of a new construction home for us. He found things we definitely would never have spotted (especially on the roof!), and he included helpful pictures (and videos) of key components throughout the home that we can refer to, like if we need to look up what model of condensing unit we have (pics of the manufacture plates were included), or remember where to shut off the gas for the appliances. I sent the following email on 10/7/2020 and have received NO follow up from Sound Home Advisers. They are TERRIBLE. They do not hold themselves accountable for faulty inspections and did not do their due diligence. USE ANOTHER COMPANY. We have spent thousands of dollars in our first weeks in our new home due to their subpar inspection. --- We are reaching out regarding an inspection completed by Jesse Longman License #65538. We have had a HUGE number of surprises that have been quite costly within the electrical department, but the reason I am writing today is regarding clearly visible exposed electrical wiring in the home's garage. Not only is the wiring exposed, but a short exists on the exposed wire outlet. If one would have tested any of the outdoor lights then this would have been evident as the lights did not work (and have never worked). I am writing to begin this discussion with Sound Home Advisors as to why this exposed electrical (unsafe) wiring was not included within our report? We will be having this safety hazard resolved ASAP, but are quite concerned that Sound Home Advisers' inspector did not bring this to our attention (and we have had a baby sleeping directly above these hazardous wires for almost a month!!!!). Please respond at your earliest convenient while we determine the appropriate next steps required. ---- Update - my email contains the address for the inspection that was completed and my contact information. Fantastic service!! Setting up the appointment was easy through their website. I called SHA to get an inspection done in a new construction. Jesse demonstrated a lot of experience and he was able to find multiple things to be addressed by the builder ; nothing was missed and his attention to detail is remarkable. I was very pleased with how easy it was to schedule a home inspection. They were quick to respond, very professional and very detailed.

Jesse has written up several excellent inspections for me, well worded and accurate. This year, however, the inspection was done by Terry; and it was the worst I've ever experienced. I had the inspection done as a courtesy for potential buyers, and it came across as a very hostile and inaccurate inspection. For example, he wrote that the garbage disposal was old and should be replaced. It had been replaced three months previously! He wrote that seals on windows were broken, implying this occurred in several places. Only the garage window had a broken seal; all others were recently replaced high quality windows. Every time there was a fault in one area, the report implied that the fault was throughout the house. Also, we were packing to move and had boxes and junk all over. He took photos of the mess and included them in his report. I will never hire Terry again and do not recommend him at all. read more
