Obsessed with the Spanish latte with oat milk. Very clean and welcoming. Wait time was very short and pastries are plenty.

Roast'd Coffee - Fort Lee

Searching high and low for pour-overs, I've noticed most coffee shops no longer offer them. Most…read morecoffee cafes focus on espressos because that's where the money is, so finding a place that does pour-overs is getting harder as they barely exist. Imagine our delight when we found this place on Yelp. This is huge for coffee lovers. Most of their beans are single-origin, and while some may be a little nervous that it's next to a gas station, rest assured, it will be one of the best coffees you will ever enjoy. Bold statement, but a true statement. Seating is very limited. One side has four seats at a long bench table, while the other side offers two seats. There was also a table with a few chairs outside. This place has espresso drinks, coffee, a limited tea selection (tea bags, not loose leaf), banana bread, croissants, and other various baked items. We had a buttery croissant and banana bread -- both were heated up and outstanding!! The coffee beans are roasted in-house, and they also offer coffee on tap. It turns out they have several locations, and they all roast their own beans on-site. You can also purchase beans to grind at home, should you choose. Parking is tight but free. They do have a bathroom if you need to use it, and the baristas who work there are all experts at making coffee. They are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and are great to chat with about their beans when the place is at a rare slow time. They are dedicated to their craft. Anytime we are nearby, this will be the only place we will be stopping for a supreme cup of java. My biggest regret: not purchasing a bag to take home. The Roast'd Legender is calling out to me.

Very friendly, informative staff (especially Edgar who is passionate about roasting to get outstanding flavor and quality!) Place is conveniently off of Rte 46 right before the GWB towards NYC. This was my first time at CAFFE AND, staff were patient, courteous AND very helpful( i had a lot of questions while exploring the menu) A big variety of deserts, i only ordered the iced match latte with honey and sweet cream(honey was not necessary) I do recommend this place 100%.

They offer a selection of unique beverages and desserts that feel a bit more elevated than your typical neighborhood spot. Seating is limited, so be prepared to share space at the bar top along the side. If you are lucky, you might snag one of the small tables or, even better, one of the highly coveted couches that double as the perfect backdrop for social media photos. Here is what we ordered: - Einspänner: 3.5/5 stars. An upscaled version of an Americano with cream - Deep Black Latte: 3.5/5 stars. Also, a single-shot based drink. Would have preferred a second shot of espresso for a more balanced flavor. The cacao notes are prevalent. - Blooming London: 3.5/5 stars. One shot of espresso with exceptionally thick foam. The vanilla syrup was overwhelming, and the taste of the Earl Grey in the cream was underwhelming. - Chocolate chip cookie: 3/5 stars. Pretty average - Madeleine: 3/5 stars. Decent, but nothing memorable Parking is metered, and they do have unisex restrooms available.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Not only does every ingredient dance in your mouth, but the soft beet infused crust makes this one of the best pizzas I've happily savored.

I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.

While the menu is more expansive towards coffees, and drinks, accompanied by the usual suspects of desserts, they have two unusual items that drew my attention. First is the CROFFLE: Short for Croissant-Waffle. I didn't think anything of it but I was forced to buy it because they ran out of regular croissants. I was reluctant but she convinced me to try it! I don't get easily surprised but this homemade pastry is TO DIE FOR! It literally tastes like a croissant because it is made out of croissant dough but cooked like a waffle. This gives the crunchy effect of a waffle on the outside combined with a chewy inside that is made to order in a few minutes! You have a selection of eight sweet and three savory flavors to choose from but I like the plain with butter and may be some preserves, just like a warm flaky croissant. The second is the taiyaki in Japanese or boong-uh-bbang in Korean literally means goldfish bread because it is made in the shape of a large goldfish. It is filled with one of three flavors: Red bean, vanilla custard or Nutella. It takes about 12-minutes to make but they are really good too. The ambience is quaint, warm charming and somewhat nostalgic! Everything is clean and tidy too! The service is good and prompt. It is a little expensive, especially the goldfish bread ($4/piece; minimum of 4/order, so $16), but well worth the flavor explosion! This mini-cafe/desert place is a jewel and a find among the industrial giants that punch out the same -old, same-old and I recommend it highly, especially for the "Croffle" and the "Goldfish Bread!"

I got my usual matcha soft serve on a cone and it came in a huge swirl on a waffle cone. The ice cream had a strong matcha flavor and was creamy and fluffy. It turned out the red bean was spoiled, so I had to go back and ask them to remake the drink without it. This time, on 12/27 around 5:30 PM, I ordered a hojicha latte. After placing my order, I noticed there was a free size upgrade promotion running throughout December, so I asked if my drink could be upgraded. The staff member said no, explaining that it had to be done while ordering for the promotion to apply. That excuse felt very lame and honestly came across as laziness, especially since it was a free upgrade and could have easily been accommodated. At another Maiko location (Garden State Plaza), the staff proactively informed me about the promotion and asked if I wanted the upgrade, which is what I would expect. Unfortunately, the Fort Lee location didn't offer the same experience. Even after I asked, it felt like I was given weak excuses rather than a genuine effort to help. On top of that, the hojicha latte here was overly milky. I've had the same drink at other Maiko locations where it tasted much nuttier and more balanced, so this was disappointing. I really love Maiko overall, but based on these experiences, I wouldn't visit the Fort Lee location again.
