I saw the sign for MoJo's Grill popup in our local Target shopping center a couple weekends ago. We were out that way this past Sunday and decided to stop in for a late lunch. Upon entering, we informed the man behind the counter that this was our first visit. It turns out that we were talking to Joe, the owner of the establishment. He was very engaging and seemed like a very nice guy. He ran us through their menu, which included gyros, burgers, salads, wings, and various other sandwiches. One thing he highlighted was that all their entrees are prepared on demand within five minutes. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. For a strip mall, counter service restaurant, the decor was very nice, from the tiled bathrooms, which were well maintained, to the hardwood floors under the booths. The price was very affordable, too. We ordered two adult entrees and a kid's meal for $15. We ordered an 'Original Cheesesteak', which my wife said reminded her of her favorite cheesesteak place in her home town, a MoJo's Burger, and the Kid's burger. What I liked about the MoJo's burger was that it was a big burger, cooked fresh, on a really good bun. I would have liked more tomatoes, but that's about all I can complain about. The kid's burger was the same sized burger as the MoJo's Burger. We got one and split it between our two small children. Based on our first experience at MoJo's Grill, we will definitely be back. One thing that Joe mentioned as he has realized that he needs some booster seats for kids to use in the booths. He said he would be ordering those. I also suggested that he get stools for the sink in the bathroom so that kids can wash their hands easier. He said that he would get some of those, too. If he follows through on that, this might become one of our regular spots. read more

This place is awesome! It is an oasis of hand-made, 'mom-and-pop' style food in a wasteland of CHAIN burger joints. You owe it to your kids, the next time they want to go to the arches - to try something different and fresh - something made with a little TLC. One of the best burger combo meals in Garner with a $5-7 pricing point. Cheeseburgers and Chicken Sandwiches are my favorite things here and I recommend them. While the fries are always great and never soggy, try substituting for a fresh greek side salad or pay a little more for onion rings. The Gryo and baklava are tasty as well. Stumbled into this little gem by accident. The wings are amazing! I ordered the grilled buffalo wings, and the meat fell right off the bone. Perfectly cooked. Pleasantly spiced. The price was great. $9 for a platter - about 8 to 10 wings, fries (which were perfectly crisp), celery, and bleu cheese (you can get ranch). They have a large menu. Cheesesteaks, gyros, salads, fish sandwiches, shrimp, wings, and more. Great for lunch and and they do take-out. My only suggestion (NOT a complaint!) is to incorporate a variety of more wing sauce flavors and heat intensities and offer a better quality dressing in small dipping cups instead of packets. This is one of our favorite spots. The owner is always so nice (I know, not about the food, but it does mean something!) and the chicken gyros are overflowing and delicious! If I could give this negative stars I would. The service here is wonderful and friendly.. the food is the most revolting slop put in a container this side of public school lunch. We ordered wings and man! I don't know what type of chicken these wings came from but to say they were small is an understatement. They were micro wings. Secondly they weren't crispy as we ordered fried wings. The sauce made them just soggy and sad. A Greek salad was ordered, which they placed in the same container as the wings. Needless to say the lettuce was wilted and as hopeless as we felt once we started the attempt to eat lunch. I asked for crispy onion rings which again stayed with the theme of soggy and wishing for a quick death. I am a Garner resident and I am SO tired of crappy chain restaurants and that's why I am a frequent customer of MoJo's. The store is clean and tidy, the staff is very friendly, and the food is delicious - they impress me every time! During my visits, I have eaten a variety of the menu, such gyro platters, cheesesteaks, grilled chicken sandwiches, and salads. All were very delicious and I have nothing negative to say. My absolute favorite is the gyro platter. The meat is SO tender, juicy, and has a robust flavor. The platter comes with a hearty helping of the meat, pita, tzatziki sauce, fries, and a greek side salad. The flavor of the meat is so kick butt, that I often skip using the tzatziki sauce so I don't dilute the flavor of the meat. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and I hope to see more non-chain establishments come to Garner! read more

Staff was great! We arrived right at 12:00 p.m. and lunch rush was in full effect. I know it has to pain the owners of this location to see guests do what the group in front of us did. Open the doors, see the place packed, and then about face to find a place to get served in a quicker fashion. Seating is probably what keeps them up at night unless the patrons are quick to dine and dash are their repeat business. Saw several "lunch break" customers picking up to go orders, so that's a plus. We opened and closed their doors as well until we realized our stomachs had dictated gyros. Glad we did back to back 180's. Not only were we mistaken by assuming that service would be diminished by the size of the crowd, but the lack of seating was no longer an issue due to two small tables outside with four chairs that we hadn't noticed when we turned around initially. Outdoor seating rules, especially in this weather. The girl that helped us at the counter was great. She took the time to list ingredients that come stock on their gyro/pita recipes that aren't listed on the menu with a smile. I tried the tuna melt which was great, although I would ask for extra tuna next time since the actual meat portion seemed small to me. Also, this is tuna salad, just an FYI. In my attempt to order somewhat healthy, I wound up eating mayonnaise. My fault. Fries were crispy and piping hot. There were a variety of your normal condiment selections at the counter and an abundance of Season Salt for some reason. I'm talking like 7 canisters. My lady ordered the steak pita. This is a pretty solid place. Ive had good luck with both the philly cheesesteaks and the pitas. This is bare-bones stuff, dont at a pretty reasonable price. The food and price probably combine for about a 4 star rating, but there is a problem I have at this place. There's a dollar-store nearby and I know for a fact that that is where they buy all their condiments. Look, I buy walmart brand ketchup, but I expect restaurants to be better than the house of a 22 year old. The hot sauce they have is particularly horrible, with no trace of spice to be found. I'm going to go for 5 stars although I've only been one time, but it felt great to walk into a locally owned Grill in a comfy little place with a nice menu. I chose a Fish Sandwich because I love them and its hard to find them anywhere else. I was pleased! Well it is almost embarassing to admit I just went to Mojo's for the first time very recently sine i live nearly walking distance from the place. I guess you miss some gems in you own back yard some times. I must say both time i have been to Mojo's the food has been great. I recently had their burger it was quite a tasty burger and it was plenty big even for me. Atmosphere 4 - For a strip mall restaurant it has quite a bit of charm. Service 4 - Mojo's only has counter service but the folks who have waited on me have been very nice, warm , open , and friendly.. Cost/Value 4 - For what we got I thought the prices was quite reasonable. Food 4 - The food we got was fresh, hot and tasty. Their Philly subs, hamburgers and gyro platters were great. read more

This has become my go-to place for wings, fried or grilled, buffalo or chipotle. ALWAYS good. Last night I showed up at 4 minutes to closing time (I was THAT guy). I thought they would tell me they were closing, but the young ladies there couldn't have been more polite and eager to serve me. I said "wings" and they asked, "fried or grilled?" Great place for lunch...you can get a 10 wing platter with fries and celery for $7.99. The chipotle wings are small but BANGIN! The ranch comes in a packet which makes dipping semi complex. OK, on the past few trips to MoJo's, I have had the Gyro with fries and the Philly Steak with fries. BOTH were very generous portions, the fries were great, the Gyro was big and tasty as the Philly Steak. They are both fairly priced and the local police, who know where to eat, seems to be enjoying lunch often at MoJo's. Service is quick and overall the place is clean and organized. Tried Mojo's for the first time today and my wife and I both loved it. My cheesesteak was perfection and they made her a fried chicken sandwich even though they don't technically have one on the menu (only grilled) and it was also excellent. Tried Mojo's twice and it is great! The wings are wonderful and the price is too. The burgers are served on Kaiser rolls which is great! Friendly service. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is that I personally would like a few other menu options like Buffalo Chicken Sandwich or wrap... and something like a french dip and other sandwich options. Also homemade ranch dressing for the wings would make the wings even better ( they taste great though, just prefer homemade ranch). Everything else is wonderful!
