Español Croissant

This place is adorable and yummy! It's a small shop with a display of their sweets and offerings. I ordered and, since the inside tables were full, I sat outside and they brought the order to my table. I had the Espanol croissant which was very nice. It had Manchego cheese, Serrano ham, arugula, and fig jam. Although I love fig, I would have enjoyed it more if it had a bit less fig to showcase the ham and cheese flavors more. When I went inside to return the wood tray, I closed out and they offer me a sample of their Alfajor which was flaky and delicious! I definitely recommend going to support this shop :)

Tostada de Salmon ahumado was delicious. I love how fresh and tasty it was. I was one if my favorites

So, let's get into it: I don't know about you, but the one thing I do not enjoy doing is driving and circling around, being lost, just to find an establishment. So, I love that this restaurant is so easy to find with good signage, lots of nearby parking, both street and lots. Anywho, once I parked, the manager Judd was so friendly and kind and directed me to the table where my friend was seated. He overheard that I was kind of speaking loud over the music when I barely had a voice due to losing it from another event, so he kindly turned down the music for us. Once there, service was quick and attentive. I got a Fresh Paloma for my drink and the Seared Salmon for dinner. The drink was a good size and tasted good, no complaints there. As for the dinner, WOW. This was delicious, I would get this again. The flavors were there and the portions were just perfect (not too much and not too little, I usually never get enough or leave with leftovers). Also, not overpriced for Miami in my opinion. Aside from that, I did try some of my friend's off-menu pasta and it was really yummy. Furthermore, they have great weekly specials: (Note, subject to change. Please check Instagram or call for Current Week): Tuesday: Burgers and Bottles, $10 Burgers and Half off Select Bottles of Wine Wednesday: Double Loyalty Points and Fire, Flour & Fizz ($12 Pizzas, $12 Aperol Spritz, $7 Prosecco, 5pm-close) Thursday Ladies Night: Complimentary Bubbly for Ladies 4pm-7pm Sunday: 10am-4pm Bloody Mary Bar Go check it out, I don't think you'll regret it. Let me know what you think! :)

My friend works in Coral Gables on Saturdays and I wanted to meet him for a quick dinner. I looked…read moreon Yelp and found this place. It's a Cuban sandwich shop and I know it's authentic because they speak Spanish. And I don't. Which is difficult but my friend is from Nicaragua, so that helped. I had the Media Noche sandwich, which is the same as a Cuban sandwich but it's made with sweet bread rather than Cuban bread. Ham, pork, cheese, pickles and mustard. It's delicious. My friend asked the young lady behind the counter what she would recommend, which might have been his way of flirting with her, I couldn't tell. It was in Spanish. At any rate, he wound up with the chicken sandwich. He was not expecting anything much but he was quite surprised at how good it was. It's not a fancy place. They don't have a sit-down dinner menu and most of the food is take-away. There are a few tables and chairs outside, but not many. So you might have to eat like you're on the subway; standing up. But the food is good and the service is excellent. Definitely worth five stars.

Ambiance -- It is a bit dated but it adds to the no-frills charm of the place. The photos on the walls tell a history and a story of the place; and if one has lived long enough in Miami, one can recognize some of the famous faces. Service -- Also, no-frills but attentive, courteous, friendly, and accommodating. Food -- It is simply old-fashioned deliciousness: *Pizza -- by far, one of the best ones I've tried. You can build your own and choose the size of pie you want from small - Sportsman size. All their meats are top quality and enough for every bite. *Chicken wings -- Their chicken wings are hard to beat. They are plump, succulent, and savory. Truly a must have if you like chicken wings. They have different flavors and sauces to choose from, but I loved the traditional buffalo sauce. *Happy hour / Specials: They do have daily specials and happy hour prices, which is a plus. The items vary but all are delicious in their own right. This has become one of my favorite places to eat...no-frills and always delicious...!

I chose to stay oblivious to all the chatter until I heard that it would include a cafe. Then they had my attention. Sebastian's cafe has a very limited menu and hours of operation. You can grab breakfast or lunch here Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 2:30. With lots of other dining options around the area it seems like it might be difficult for this place to really thrive but only time will tell! I headed to the alumni center today for no other reason than to try this place out. I opted for a Hurricane Toasted Salad which sounded exactly like something I like to order at Niko's at the UM foodcourt. It's one of those items that throws the word "salad" in the titel to make it seem like what you're getting is healthy, when it's really not. It's foccacia bread laid out, topped with mozarella cheese, chicken, and olive tapenade that is toasted. Then that is capped with mixed greens and balsamic vinagerette. While it may not be the idyllic salad, it certainly is delicious! Although this one was drier and not as tasty as the one from my beloved Niko's... I opted to take mine to go but there is plenty of seating inside this place and a TV if you're looking to catch some news in the morning. Although the menu is small, it offers tasty subs, grilled sandwiches, wraps, and toasted salads. Their breakfast menu is quite extensive too and they even have cortadito's! Would I go out of my way to grab lunch from her again? Probably not. But I'd definitely come hungry to a meeting or event that I ever had to attend at the alumni center and swing by here before!
