In this time I have tried their mini desserts, their alfajores (mini and cake), the key lime dessert, the almond cake, their regular vanilla cake, and the crocante. We were looking for a Bake shop that creates amazing cakes and desserts for our Goddaughter's first Communion and we found Catalina's located in a modest location in Pinecrest. The owner is Peruvian, trained in one of the most prestigious French cooking school and we were provided some delicious samples including Peruvian sweets alfaores. We decided to order a Tunisian Almond cake, for something truly unique. It was worth it, the cake was perfection you can taste and feel the grounded almonds and the orange syrup made the cake super moist. Everything here is delicious. The staff is so kind and helpful. I order from here for all holidays and they never disappoint.

Their staff is completely rude and tone deaf. They barely greeted me when I walked in, no ounce of hospitality in their face or voice. I come in to ask for a simple cake design. They were picky, objecting to doing everything I wanted. I asked for a heart shape. Their response is we're not doing heart shapes right now. I asked for fresh sliced strawberries in the middle of the cake for a small strawberry shortcake. Their response is no, but we can do strawberry jam. They are lazy and clearly don't take pride in what they do. Slicing some fresh strawberries to put in a small cake is not that hard. To then charge me 90$ for their rude inconsiderate, and incompetent service is incredibly disrespectful. Your money will be better spent elsewhere. read more

Stopped in before going to a bbq at a friends house, and was in heaven. So many selections of desserts that we felt like kids in a candy shop. The owner/baker, gave us suggestions and a few of her most popular and favorites to taste. Ended up wanting to buy one of everything! Definitely something out of the ordinary to take if invited to a dinner/bbq or hostess gift. We bought the most incredible key lime pie, a slice of a delicious chocolate cake, and a flan for us, (which were planning on leaving in the car since we wanted them for ourselves). We chose their "signature cake" to take to the dinner/bbq we were on our way to. OMG, we ate most of everything we had wanted to take home, in the car, on the drive to our event! How thoughtful of the owner to include some cute plastic spoons "just in case". Our host laughed when we told him our experience and he tasted the remnants of the key lime, flan and chocolate cake. The look on his face was priceless! He too, thought that the desserts were out of this world delicious ! I don't remember the name of their signature cake, but that was had later at night after dinner, with coffee, and everyone was flabbergasted. Absolutely delicious. A few weeks later, we wanted to go buy the cake for a friends birthday. Though didn't remember the name of the bakery, we did remember where they were located. After driving 30 miles there, we found they are closed on Sundays. So disappointing, because no other cake, has since compared! Happy though that we got the name for future orders!
