Jhol Momo
Lauren C.

Great dumpling! I got the jhol jhol momo dumplings with a side of naan bread. The broth in the dumplings was amazing and super tasty. The dumplings were delicious as well. The naan bread was nice to dip in the broth, I wouldn't order just to eat by itself. They have several other dishes I want to come back and try. Will be back for the dumplings for sure. It's a small restaurant but it does have seating inside. Service is pretty quick and they do delivery.

Jhol Momo ( 10pcs)

The most Slept on in Nepal style spot in DC . Whole in the wall type vibes but clean and presentable enough to casually dine in . Even the kitchen looked clean and organized . The register greeter was cool and patient as I navigated the menu ( first timer ) . The wait time was reasonable as well 10-15 minutes tops . I've eaten here 3 times already and each time I go the food taste better than before . I got the Jhol Momo / C Momo ( both are flavorful ) with the C Momo being my favorite . The best Momos I've tasted in the city thus far . I'm going back to try other vegetarian options on the menu ( plant based eater ) Jhol Momo 7.5 /10 ( be sure to stir the soup before eating , to get all the flavors moving through the soup ) C Momo 10/10 savory , Slightly sweet , with a strong kick of spice ( 4 /5 spice level , creeps up on you will burn your lips and make your nose run for sure ) * to my knowledge all the chefs are from Nepal which means we get the authentic taste of their culture.

Surrounded by small restaurants from around the world, Moh Moh Licious stands out with excellent food from a Nepalese chef. The small shop is known for their dumplings, but don't sleep on there biryani. The chicken one comes out hot with the perfect blend of spices, well cooked chicken, and a yogurt sauce on the side. For just under $20, it was big and very filling. There are a few tables inside and an area with cold water in jugs. It hit the spot!

Charming little place with great food, friendly staff, and excellent service. I ordered the pork momos and achari lamb. Taste wise they were excellent, but the serving of the Achari Lamb was too small for the price in my opinion. Food also didn't come with any veggies, which is a miss in terms of a balanced meal for me. If you want to eat in, keep in mind the dining area is super tiny (3 tables with max seating for 8 ppl total). If you are relying on Google to help guide you to the restaurant, be sure to note the entrance to the restaurant is on Georgia Avenue itself. I followed Google maps, which led me to behind the restaurant and discovered there was no rear entrance and so had to double back. Be sure not to make the same mistake I did!

Delicious food. We ordered 8 dishes. Two momo, daal, butter chicken, veg chow mein, chicken biryani, okra, and achari lamb + tandoori roti. Half the dishes came with rice. Everything was excellent. Especially liked the C momo, chicken biryani, and tandoori roti. Ambiance is not fancy and quite small. Pretty quick service; they weren't busy when we arrived but seemed to have increased pickup business. Not sure we need to eat in again; it's not a bad atmosphere and is fast... but is a great carry-out spot.

Their Moh Mohs were delicious. I had the chicken variety with tamarind chutney. They were made fresh. It took a few minutes and when they came they were steaming hot. The wrapper was perfect. Slightly thicker than normal and held the filling well. Went on a Sunday morning and street parking outside the restaurant on Georgia ave was free. Otherwise it's a 2hr paid parking. The place is good for take out but had a few tables if you want to dine in.

Eating the food here was almost like a religious experience. You walk from the cold streets of DC and open up to a vibrantly colored shop with not a lot of tables. Just enough to dine a large group and maybe a few duos. But I would argue you would stand hunched over just to eat a Beef Momo. The blend of flavors, spices, creaminess is wonderful. It's also served like piping hot and biting into a hot, fully packed, and fresh Momo may be one of the best things I've ever done for myself. I'm so glad I walked into this place. It is honest when it says it's spicy! You know it's authentic to someone's personal recipe because we found ourselves picking whole cloves and cardamom pods out from the Lamb Biryani. You order at the window after looking at a written menu that has the charming elements of being hand drawn later on. They even keep magazine clippings of all their awards. More must come! More must come!

I ordered beef moh moh with the sesame tomate sauce and it was delicious. The delivery was on time and the presentation was nice. I also had the Tamarind lemonade. It was a bit sweet for my tastebuds but the flavor was definitely there. I would order both again and plan to stop by in person during the warmer months.

Delicious food that is of the highest quality! Cannot wait to go back to sample more options!

Chicken Biryani and Jhol Momo

My first ever order from Moh Moh was on a food delivery app. I had a crazy craving for chicken biryani so I ordered that and had to get some momos since that's the name of the restaurant. The serving of biryani was massive! It was enough for literally three meals. The spices were just right and it was so tasty. I thought the momos would just be like regular dumplings but they were fat, filled with goodness and in a decadent sauce. Those could have been a meal in their own. The price is right, the servings are huge and the food is delicious. Try this spot!

Divine! The Shrimp Curry and Pork Mo Mo Dumplings with Red Spicy Tangy Sauce are such a treat! I also tried the Chicken Curry, Samosa Chat and Garlic Naan. You can tell everything is made from scratch. If it was this good delivered, I can only imagine how good the food is in person. You have a forever customer in me!

Hidden place with Nepali food. It's almost like a literal hole in the wall how small this is. Moh Moh Licious specializes in the dumplings from Nepal. Fast and good. The place doesn't have seating so it's only takeout. Good for a fast bite. If you're in a serious hurry you can call ahead but this still won't even help that much. The food is basically takeout. Come in and order at the counter. They specialize in moh mohs. If you haven't heard if these, they're basically dumplings. These get filled with meats or vegetables. It's about $6 for 6which is enough for an appetizer. This comes with a choice of a sauce. It can be hard to get to from outside the area. Some busses go by it. This is closest to the Takoma Metro station.

Pork Dumplings (MoMo) with the side of spicy tangy sauce

More like 4.5 stars. I ordered delivery through door dash from here on Friday. I got the pork dumplings wit the spicy sauce, and the okra entree. I didn't realize the okra was a complete meal so I got a lot of food. The dumplings were good and flavorful. The okra entree came with a chickpea side, rice, and a salad. I was really impressed with the amount of food you get. The okra was in like a stew. It was very good. The spices were right and the okra shined even with all the fixings in the dish. I liked everything. My only critique is I wish they gave more sauce for the dumplings. From their pictures, it appears these dumplings are supposed to be smothered in sauce, however for takeout, they put it on the side. I understand they probably do so for the dumpling to not get too soggy, but the little side of sauce isn't enough and the sauce was also a bit cold. I Would've preferred it tossed over the dumplings and smothered. especially to get the real experience of how they should be. However, the dumplings were still very good!

Garlic Naan (PLENTY of garlic. Not for date night.)

The place is a small station of extremely good taste. The chicken curry rice bowl is what I had and recommend anyone first timer to try it.

My wife and I had been here for lunch before and had a good experience, so this time we figured why not check it out for dinner? Turns out, it was a great idea. The wait for the food was a bit on the longer end, but to be perfectly fair, we ordered a LOT, so we certainly didn't mind. By the time the food hit the table, we forgot about it almost entirely because the smells of freshly made kitfo, lamb tibs, and this stewed chicken dish whose name I can't remember (but it came with a hardboiled egg!) hit our nose, nothing else mattered. The food was presented in a way that somehow matched the overall vibe of the restaurant, which at this time of night was set to be kinda toned down with dingy lighting and smooth music. Huge call out to my waiter that I curse myself for not getting his name, because he is, simply put, the best server I've ever had at a restaurant. Not only was he timely and discreet about topping off our waters, but also checked in about soft drinks as well, and when he heard my son saying the food was too spicy for him, he took it upon himself to get him something else to eat that wasn't spicy at all, and without myself or my wife asking. If you're looking for a great place to eat with a killer atmosphere and even better service, you've found it.

It wasn't a platter type of night, but both Indian and Ethiopian cuisines have some great appetizers, so we stopped in after a movie. It was cool to see the breakdown of a vibey bar scene on one side and a sit down area on the other period both sides had the World Cup showing, so there was really no going wrong. The woman who greeted us led us to decide where we wanted to go. According to their hours, they are open until 1AM. We decided to get the stuffed naan basket, sambusas, and chicken momos -- A nice but fairly light spread for the evening. We or later told that they were finished with the naan basket... For an Indian restaurant more than 3 hours before they closed, that was surprising to me... I should have specified whether it was naan in general or just that basket, but still. The other two items came after 25 minutes or so. The sambusas were fried HARD, but had a great flavor. The momos were solid! We had a good time catching up, and they did great keeping water refilled (mostly). It took a while to close out -- they probably thought we were invested in the game and not in a hurry, but it's a weeknight and we were on Metro's time. I am curious about their proper Indian and Ethiopian entrees ... By the way, I saw a mouse right before we left... It was in the back on the dining room side past the tables.

Great Authentic Flavors…read more I had a wonderful meal at Curry Place in Silver Spring and thoroughly enjoyed the dishes I ordered. The flavors were authentic, rich, and made with quality ingredients. Here is how the meal broke down: Samosa Chaat: This was a fantastic starter with a kick. The flavors worked so well together, especially with the mango chutney, it added a delicious sweet and tangy complement to the dish that I couldn't get enough of (I would love an extra side of that chutney next time!). My only critique was that the raw onions were a bit overwhelming, so I ended up having to pick some of them out to keep the dish balanced. Rosemary Garlic Naan: Absolute perfection! You can really taste the freshness of the herbs, garlic, and quality olive oil. It was fragrant, perfectly cooked, and elevates the standard naan experience. Lamb Korma: A standout main course. The korma was wonderfully rich with a distinct, delicious nutty flavor profile. It paired amazingly well with the rosemary garlic naan, making for a super satisfying combination.

It's probably really good during the day, too -- but I love ordering from here late at night! One thing I can say about this place is: I have never been disappointed! I would say that dining in late at night during the winter, it might be a little bit cold for those who are used to more heated spaces .... In terms of accessibility, if you need an entrance without stairs, then using the front entrance would be the way to go -- and since the parking is in the back and the front entrance is on a major road without parking right there, you would need to go around to the front from the back, which also involves going down an incline using the sidewalk.
