Paid cash since minimum credit card use is a $5.00 minimum - which is posted. Sat in the lounge and sipped my hot coffee. They offer beautiful pastries and freshly made empanadas or choripan sandwiches. One interesting item was the cooler full of separately wrapped big 16" frozen pizzas to grab and take home. The interior of the Argentinian eatery was warm and welcoming with a nice outside covered patio. The structure was very similar to the original Modern Rose eatery. The commercial kitchen seems well equipped to cook the menu offerings like grilled octopus and chicken perigiana on the gas stove with iron skillets and a stainless steel flat-top griddle. The empanadas and the pastafrolas were glistening in the glass display case. Ordered a Victoria Italian Espresso and sat on the patio and sipped the roasty liquid quietly. The gender assigned bathroom was spacious with black painted industrial cement flooring with a single private stall and a urinal that was out of service covered by a garbage bag. The black trim yellow poster of Mohammed Ali was an interesting choice of wall decor. This cafe was the perfect place to relax with a coffee and a muffin or dive deeper into the menu for a full meal.

As for the "healthy food" comment, that wasn't an excuse it was an explanation. Not everything has to be drowning in butter, salt, or grease to taste good. Maybe the restaurant wasn't the problem.
