5 Stars - A Taste of Puerto Rico Right Here in Fall River!…read more Walking into El Jibarito felt like coming home. As someone who deeply misses the taste of my Puerto Rican roots, this place brought me right back to the island--where food is more than a meal, it's a celebration of culture and love. I had the Tripleta sandwich and wow--every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly grilled and seasoned just like the ones from the food trucks back home. My wife had the arroz con longaniza y chuleta can-can, and she couldn't stop raving about it--crispy, juicy, and full of that authentic boricua sazón. From the atmosphere to the hospitality, El Jibarito doesn't just serve food--it revives memories, family, and tradition. Thank you for keeping our culture alive and delicious. ¡Los felicito de corazón y sigan pa'lante!

The arroz was flavorful and the pernil was tasty as well. I would've loved bigger pieces instead of the smaller but that's ok !! The Colombian style empanadas were packed with filling and were delicious. This mom and pop restaurant with the vintage menus gets an B+ in my book. Mucho gracias.

Our experience went good at the start. This is (at least from what we saw) a counter service restaurant. You order at the counter, pay, and take a seat. I do not remember the names of what we ordered but my husband had a kebab dish and I had a plantain dish. The music in the background was nice and went well with the theme. Everything was clean and the food did smell really good. At the time we were the only two in the dining area although a few others showed up later. The disappointing part for us was the food. The food looked great, but then...nothing. Very bland with very little flavor. Maybe this is normal? It smelled and looked so good that it was very surprising that it had such a bland flavor. Id still give it another try just because of all the great reviews

We are very blessed . . …read more That our area of Southeastern Connecticut has such a large Puerto Rican population - - or we may have never tasted the wonderful food that this restaurant offers. One of the best, if not THE VERY BEST, restaurants in the local area. My only concerns: 1) I didn't see a bathroom, but I didn't need one ‍; 2) we could have used a knife for the pork stick, but we should have asked. The staff is extremely helpful. Wonderful designs, with lots of inspiration. Now for the food: - Chicken Steam Plate: Chicken leg, rice & beans, fried plantain pieces. Chicken super moist, rice was outstanding, & plantains were very tasty. - Beef Stew: very good, similar to Filipino Beef Mechado. - Pork Stick: great tasting pork - - for me, I would have liked a bit more "fatty" on my stick, but it was really meaty!!! - Beans were nicely done. - Smashed Plantains were served with 1000 Island dressing: probably just as good without the dressing. - Ground Beef Empanada: good, a bit of vegetables would have put it over the top (potatoes, onions, carrots, peas) - - but that's there style. - Chicken Empanada: ok, a bit salty for us. Enjoy!!!!!
