Mofer Coffee is a cozy and attractive coffee shop. It's a great place to lounge with a cup of joe and your favourite book. They serve single source Ethiopia bean, and even roast their own beans. It all sounds great in paper. I had an iced coffee. It was prepared ahead of time and was chilled in the fridge. The only problem is that it wasn't very good. I should come back and give them another chance.

You cannot go wrong with this coffee shop. Minus the fact that they use REAL ingredients (not that fake stuff that other places claim to be the real deal) Real is in real turmeric in their lattes that will definitely have your tongue looking yellow for a few hours and certainly stain any clothes it comes in contact with. Real as in you can smell the coffee beans from miles away long before taking that first sip that will have you begging for more. Real as in, you can see, smell and taste the authenticity of the place. Need I really say more?

One of the best smelling roasters/coffee shops to enter.. Coffee was good, croissant (almond) was stale and right into garbage.

I just picked up a bag of Guji Natural Medium Roast Whole Beans from Mofer - For all those who are into specialty coffee, this is one of the few places in Toronto where you can see the staff roast small batches in-store. I immediately went home to taste it and I have to give it a 10/10. The quality of the beans were top notch. Even-sized and large, they still smelt a little smoky when I opened the bag which points to how fresh it was. I probably should have waited to de-gas the beans but the aroma made it irresistible. While it's better to drink light roasts with Ethiopian beans, the folks at Mofer offer Light, Medium, and Dark roasts for all their heirloom bean varieties. I like this option because (1) not everyone wants to be a connoisseur, (2) sometimes a darker roast is better for desserts, etc.

What a great addition to the neighbourhood! Exceptional coffee with very friendly service. We've waited a long time for a good coffee place to open and it has finally arrived.

Great places with great coffee! You can pick which origin beans you would like! Can order a cup, half liter or 1L. The staff was very helpful, he was able to tell me the favour of the coffee! Would love to come back and try other beans!

Mofer's cappuccino to go - the perfect blend.

Great latte! Really interesting nutty flavour and I like it. Service is pretty grumpy but the coffee was worth it.

This second location is located outside on the beautifully picturesque cobblestone road named Temperance Street. The building is historic and the calm interiors make you feel instantly at home. The staff was really nice and told me about their menu and seasonal items. In addition to coffee and matcha based beverages, the store offers food and merch as well. Apparently this location is a laptop free zone, offering an incredibly welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of financial district. Today I ordered a cortado. Before you even drink it, the fragrant coffee smell hits you. A bit sweet and almost fruity. When drinking it, the flavours amplify and provide an overall sense of calm, a breath of fresh air. It doesn't just feel like a regular old coffee but that you can take your time with it, like having a conversation with an old friend, it is meant to be savoured. I absolutely plan to go back for one of their seasonal matcha beverages and to get away from it all. 5/5

I did like the flavor of the regular hot matcha latte more, plus they made a very cute bunny latte art on it! Inside is small with minimal seatings but has a cool ambience for hanging out.

Due to amount of butter and cheese in the dough, with it being really quite cold, it felt vey congealed - but it had great flavour. I would order it again, but I'd perhaps see if they could heat it, or I'd take it home and heat it. The staff was friendly. Would I return: Yes - but I think there are other options in the area that I might head to first. Would I recommend: This is a great place for people who live nearby to get their morning fix.

On a cold winter afternoon, the shop was half empty.. so I can sit where ever I like... either at those nice comfy sofas/armchairs at the back or in the wicker chairs in the front overlooking Queen street under the sunshine... I was surprise when my cappuccino was served in a paper cup?!! I asked the nice guy why not in a mug? I cannot drink from a paper cup that is hot to touch (I have history of spilling hot drinks all over myself or my friends)..I need a mug!!!! Sorry.. they don't have MUGS!! I swear you could play European handball in here, yet you'll only find two easy chairs, two kitchen-sized tables and several rattan seats near the front. That's not to say the atmosphere isn't swell. I'm sick of saying "exposed brick" so I won't. The Queen St façade is all windows, and the natural light just pours into this high-ceilinged space. And as a graphic design enthusiast, believe me, I love negative space -- but more seating wouldn't hurt. My latte was served at approximately 451 degrees Fahrenheit and took some time to produce, but it was tasty and only $2.75. There is art on the walls (for sale) and a few bookshelves laden with reading material (also for sale). I would certainly spend time in this place (free wifi) but be warned: the music is horrible.
