    Big dog side

Always dogs here! People here for the most part are regulars, but also very welcoming and friendly. There's trash and and baggies. But please bring your own because they do run out. This park is maintained often so it's clean. There is shade and seating. There is a small dog section and a big dog section.

This is a nice dog park. The small dog area is a bit small and the ground is all dirt so I'm not sure how it would be during wet weather but I have enjoyed it this spring. Patrons have been friendly and seem to pick up well after their animals and also make sure to bring their dog into the applicable side of the park which is nice. There is a small parking lot which makes loading and unloading safe and easy. My pup had an adorable tug of war with some new friends she made at this park after one of them dug up a tree root and I will continue returning to this park when I am in the area.

My pup, Adele, having fun at the dog park.

When I got my first puppy, I wanted to make sure that she is well socialized with dogs and other people, especially since she has German Shepherd in her. I frequently visit this dog park often since this is the closest dog park near my house. There is a small parking lot and a canal right next to the park. I have had nothing but positive experience at this dog park with the dogs and their owners. Everyone that I came across knows their dog well and supervise them as they play, making sure nothing bad happens/goes wrong. It can be a hit or miss depending on the times you go, there could be a huge number of dogs one day and zero the next. I wish they could do something about the amount of dust and sand here..

So nice to have this dog park in town. It's always clean & our little furry baby loves running & playing with the other little dogs. They have two separate areas for small & large dogs. It's a fun time. They could use more benched for us humans to sit on!!

Great park with areas for large dogs separated from small ones. There's lots of shade, too. My great Dane, Maddox give it 5 stars.

However we all know why that is. After being there awhile you kinda just ignore it but it is very much still noticeable. The small dogs are allowed on both sides which is nice but my dog can be a jerk sometimes and pick fights with bigger dogs. So we had no choice but to stay on the small dog side. With that being said the small dog side is super small, but I guess it works for those dogs that have a hard time breathing in high temperatures, I feel like they can do better with supplying more toys on small side. I didn't know how much I would love the option to drink and let my dog roam free. Beer options are great we had a delicious Hazy. little to no seating. They should really run with this idea and open a much bigger place it's perfect for those days it's way too hot, cold or even rainy. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit but if I lived near I probably would.

This is really nice because it provides shaded areas to hangout in without obstructing the open are. In this tree lined area there is a pick nick table area that is easily accessible from the street, and there has to be almost 10 tables. So, plenty to go around. There are also 2 BBQ pits on opposite sides of the table area. The playground is also within or by the shaded ring area. So, parents bring your kids and let them play while you chill in the shade. There is also a basketball court, and a beach volleyball court. I think you have to get a hold of the Parks and Recreation division of the City of Modesto because there is a lock on the gate for the volleyball court. One of the best parts of this park is the very large open space that they have. I have driven by this park on the weekend and have seen multiple kids soccer games going on at the same time. Also, ultimate frizz bee and football are excellent uses of this open space. I was there this morning and a guy was chucking a ball for his dog. This space is large enough for a multitude of different activities to go on at the same time. There are also bus stops that run along this park, so if you want to use public transport to get here, that is an option. I give this park 5 stars because a park is what you make of it, and there is a lot of potential here. So, come here and have a good time and make use of this park.

There are miles of trails, both paved and unpaved, where you can stroll, run, and bike. It is very dog friendly too! There are some very nice fenced-in tennis courts, playgrounds, and picnic tables which make for fun for the whole family. If you are into disc golf, there is a huge course throughout the park. Some of the baskets are placed right on the creek's edge, so you have to make sure you have good aim! There are some pretty bridges that overlook the creek and make for gorgeous photos when the leaves turn in fall. At the trailhead at East La Loma Park, there is a large parking lot with parking along the leading road. Even though there is plenty of light along the trail, I would avoid coming by after dark because the area can attract some homeless people. Regardless, this is a great park and community asset!

Are we really endangering people who visit a park to let their dogs play so you can extort them for money after locking them inside?
