This is a very lovely park, especially during the sunset ! It's also quite big and so if you're walking leisurely around it, you can spend a good chunk of your day there. Was at the Dog Park on Thursday. One of the employees notified me they close the dog park at 5:30. I left exactly at 5:30 and no one came to lock the dog park and do a check around the trail area like they usually do. Instead I get to the exit gate and find out they locked me inside. Called the police non emergency line to see how I can get out.. I had 3 of my dogs with me and it was already dark outside at this time. Police were helpful and got a hold of the employee working at the park. She came to the gate to open it but demanded $50 in cash before letting me out. I didn't have any cash so I offered it via Venmo or Debit and she refused and demanded cash. She let me out as a one time courtesy after pleading with her that I didn't have $50 on me. Are we really endangering people who visit a park to let their dogs play so you can extort them for money after locking them inside? read more

A very nice park on the Stanislaus River in Riverbank. A perfect spot for a picnic, stretch your legs for a walk, get your boat into the river, go for a swim and take your dogs for a walk. I've always enjoyed areas like this - it is very similar to some of the areas I hung out as a teen in the Sacramento area in the summer. Lots of trees to help keep it cooler in the hot summer months. There is a very small off leash dog area - tho I'd advise caution before letting your dog off leash. Several times I have been here before there was a population of feral cats hanging out that my dogs wanted to chase - this time, mid October 2024, I did not see any - but check - the dog area is on the small side but still nice there is a dog off leash area - otherwise your dog must be on a leash. There is a nice play area for young children - though as a boy, I generally would have been more interested in exploring the park, maybe see if any trees were worth climbing and checking out the river - skip stones and the like. You can go swimming in the river - but be mindful of the current / it looks very peaceful but it can surprise you as it did my dog who went swimming and almost disappeared down the river as the current almost pulled her out of the park - as I had to jump into action to grab her before she went past the railroad overpass - river access past the railroad bridge is not so easy as there is no real riverbanks and a lot more foliage. There are picnic table sprinkled about and a big covered area with BBQ areas if you're having a large get together. All in all a nice little park that is a slice of life along the Stanislaus River - great place to enjoy a typical riverine environment of the big valley in California. read more

First off it's a river so running water which I prefer over lakes . The water is clear you can see to the bottom and there's plenty of shallow area for young kids to wade . There's a deeper area too for adults to swim and even an area with a rope to swing and jump in the fresh water . During the week there's no parking fee . There's restrooms and a playground area and covered picnic area perfect for parties . We went on a Friday so no parking fee and there was plenty of open space for me and my family to sit near the sandy area . If you haven't been here you gotta check it out !!! read more

Score! Found a great park within a 30-min drive from home! Lots of green grass, picnic tables, BBQ areas, playground and a river! Park is conveniently located right off of Santa Fe Rd South of Escalon. Next time if we plan it better we'll go on Saturday and stop at the Portuguese Bakery in Escalon snd take our loot to the park. Parking is $7 for the day and you're allowed to exit and return with your paid tag. Parking surrounds one side of the park and the river goes down the other side. There were lots of families and the babes loved being out and near kids her age. read more

I came here to check out the dog park area but apparently the dog park is closed on Wednesdays so I just walked around a bit. Looks like a great area for a picnic, going for a swim or just enjoying the shade of the trees on a hot summer day. There are a ton of feral cats here - so if your dog likes to chase cats - I highly suggest you keep your pup on a leash. The dip park part is NOT fenced in - so it is also where I saw at least a dozen feral cats - so unless your dog is totally chill about cats - I would not take my dog here for off leash activity. read more

Really nice park to take the younger kids, with a small-tykes play structure and a bigger-kids play structure, plus swings. Restrooms are right next to the play area. Right in that same area is a large covered picnic area. Parking is free Monday through Thursday but you have to pay to get in Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Be careful with the kids though because the Stanislaus River flows very fast along the park's southern edge. read more

Honestly a great park! With access to the river, you can enjoy a full days worth of fun. The water is clean and refreshing. They have a park for the kiddos and even bathrooms. Definitely a fun place for a barbecue or just a relaxing day in the sun. A ton of optional shade is available as well. The atmosphere is very nice everyone is have a great time. In the 4 years since moving to Riverbank we have LOVED coming here! Just a VERY short walk over the bridge from our house. We usually take the kids and the dogs for them to play in the huge park, or to take the dogs for a walk around the 2 mile nature area. Perfect for those who enjoy walks its right along the 'riverbank' tons of BBQ areas for those that want to have little parties and even a huge covered area that can be reserved for the bigger festivities you wanna have with your family. Just this past summer a price for entrance during the weekends has been implanted. $5 bucks, but since we literally live 4 mins away we just keep our cars parked at home or drive to te corner market to "unload" all the BBQ items and or swimming gear for those days it's hot and the kids can go for a swim. Dog Friendly, and generally very clean beach area. Great park right on the Stanislaus River. There is a fee to park on weekends between May and September, $5. The water level is fairly low here and the current not very strong, so it's great for wading. You'll definitely want flip flops or water shoes to go in. There is a large pavilion available for rent, lots of BBQ pits. There are 2 large play structures, 1 for big kids and 1 for little ones. Lots of swings. I'm docking 1 point because there can be some dodgy looking people there during the week and lots of people smoking next to the playground. Lots of people putting tubes in the river here too. Overall a great local gem! read more

So clean and pretty! Definitely coming back once it starts to warm up. I'd be hesitant to go in the water without a life jacket though, the water flow was very strong and fast. There are various signs near the water saying to wear life jackets and to use caution. read more

Love this park! Actually going back in a few days. During this pandemic it is really great to have a place to let the kiddos play in water and be in nature. Park has security driving around at all times which makes me feel very safe, many signs for social distancing and all the times I've been here others have respected this, the staff is always helpful and courteous and the park is maintained very well. Only warning is, glass is prohibited but I did see some glass in the rocks so make sure to wear swim shoes at all times. read more

It's a great park for everyone! Water is so clear & clean unlike other rivers. It's so relaxing. They charge $7 For each car, no alcoholic beverages allowed. If u get caught they will give u ticket which is good. Lots of trees, lots of spots to just sit down and enjoy the beautiful day. read more

My baby girl and I and my friends all LOVE this place. we go here all the time since I found it. Kids can play at the playground, Adults can do BBQ, and you can go for a walk on the trail. I love this park. Since I moved to the area I have already came at least five times almost every week. Huge area to bring your barbecue if all the other barbecues are taken. But there are tons of barbecues and tables to use. Weekdays are perfect weekends can get a little busy. A lot of security roaming the place. Which is very good and makes my family feel very safe! A lot of parks have no security which brings very rough crowds that just make noise and smoke and drink. This park is very family-friendly!! read more

This park is nice to spend the afternoon. We took our two young boys but the river was high and the current was fast so even with their life jackets, I didn't feel comfortable with them getting into the water past their calves. Plus it was ice cold, almost painfully cold--other people were playing in it, but I'm not into that. Make sure to your bring a wagon or something to roll all the items you bring (chairs, towels, BBQ stuff, etc) because parking is not convenient to make several trips back and forth. Bathrooms are as to be expected at a public park, and the park employees are constantly rolling around to keep things in order. I felt safe with them being proactive. There is plenty of shade but a shade pop up tent would come in handy. The playground is lots of fun and keeps kids busy if the water doesn't. The slides can be scalding hot so be careful if your kids are wearing swimsuits or shorts. read more
