This park has had it's high and lows. After Using the Modesto GoApp, the parks division fixed all the rubber areas and did their best to reinforce the areas heavily used around the play equipment. I rarely see rift raft or trouble at this park, nor homeless trying to take over this park. I feel safe taking my kids here so far, more then I can say about other parks in Modesto. The water feature gets turned on from 2p to 5pm in the Summers so kids can play, since the City destroyed all the community pools at most parks. (They just cant manage money well fir many factual reasons) When the Junior high kids get out at around 230pm, be aware it can be chaotic for little children.

Extreamly clean park and in a good neighborhood! The facilities are always kept very nice. Nice people come to this park

This park used to be great once upon a time; however, the rubber floor has holes everywhere and some swings are missing. The play area is not so clean either. It looks like this place never received any TLC or maintenance. The sprinklers/fountains look nice but I am not sure how sanitary the water is. The picnic table / eating area has a nice gazebo-like covering. Some more picnic tables along the sidewalk but they need some cleaning. The grass is very well kept and clean ironically; the entire park is getting old and dirtier but the grass still looks great. Older kids (middle schoolers) play in the fountain and and then climb all over the park slides, etc making it all wet and unsafe for little kids. It's nice for a picnic but I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids here to play on the playground equipment.

I call this park the water park, it has several inground water fountains the kids love to run and play in, in the play ground. The entire playground has the soft cushion ground so kids cant get hurt that easy. Just love how its always so kick back and not to many people here.......Take my kids here weekly during the warm weather months.... Look for the Vato in the lawn chair reading a lowrider magazine.... that would be me. 722!

Notice the MISSING Swings on the right that should be hanging and the black POTHOLES on the ground

This park S U C K E D. I appreciate what they had, but it has not been well taken care of AT ALL. I can tell that in its "hey day" this park was really nice. The playground was completely worn out, swings were missing Even my kids were like, "Lets go, this is the most boring park in the world" We had only been there not even 5 minutes. I love they had the "red white and blue" and the stars all over to represent freedom, but shit, did they mean Freedom from maintenance? Goood Night... There is this area there that has all these rocks in them, it looks like it used to be filled with water, but I can understand that due to the severe drought conditions in California that it would be dried out. They do have bathrooms on site, but I didn't go in them. NO WAY, I thought to myself, if the playground isn't being well kept, what makes me think the bathrooms are?

Clean well groomed park with nice water attraction. It also has plenty of shade trees and benches to relax and supervise your children

Very good my girls had a lot of fun in this weather. Needs a little upkeep on the safety rubber mat. Bathroom was clean.

    Freedom park fun!

Park is nice. Shaded patio and table area. Website states the water will be open beginning July 8th, 2pm - 6pm. Nice, we'll be returning to take advantage of some water park fun! The only downfall to this park is that the padded flooring at the park was TORE up in quite a few places. So for a toddler walking, you have to be careful with the little Dips, cracks and lifted material. Too bad. Restrooms, shade, play gym, swings, benches, grass area and water play.... We'll surely return

    Needs some TLC.

Awesome park, very clean. I just think they need to work on the playground's ground, other than that I love this park.

This is really nice because it provides shaded areas to hangout in without obstructing the open are. In this tree lined area there is a pick nick table area that is easily accessible from the street, and there has to be almost 10 tables. So, plenty to go around. There are also 2 BBQ pits on opposite sides of the table area. The playground is also within or by the shaded ring area. So, parents bring your kids and let them play while you chill in the shade. There is also a basketball court, and a beach volleyball court. I think you have to get a hold of the Parks and Recreation division of the City of Modesto because there is a lock on the gate for the volleyball court. One of the best parts of this park is the very large open space that they have. I have driven by this park on the weekend and have seen multiple kids soccer games going on at the same time. Also, ultimate frizz bee and football are excellent uses of this open space. I was there this morning and a guy was chucking a ball for his dog. This space is large enough for a multitude of different activities to go on at the same time. There are also bus stops that run along this park, so if you want to use public transport to get here, that is an option. I give this park 5 stars because a park is what you make of it, and there is a lot of potential here. So, come here and have a good time and make use of this park.

There are miles of trails, both paved and unpaved, where you can stroll, run, and bike. It is very dog friendly too! There are some very nice fenced-in tennis courts, playgrounds, and picnic tables which make for fun for the whole family. If you are into disc golf, there is a huge course throughout the park. Some of the baskets are placed right on the creek's edge, so you have to make sure you have good aim! There are some pretty bridges that overlook the creek and make for gorgeous photos when the leaves turn in fall. At the trailhead at East La Loma Park, there is a large parking lot with parking along the leading road. Even though there is plenty of light along the trail, I would avoid coming by after dark because the area can attract some homeless people. Regardless, this is a great park and community asset!

We will definitely be going back and hopefully no interruptions like that along our ride next time!
