This place has fake reviews! I see the real reviews with low ratings mixed in, and the positive ones are definitely fake . Went here a few years ago and would never dare to go back! To those contemplating on coming here, dont say I didn't warn ya. Way over priced and water is too cold, you cant even enjoy it. Lots of kids crying is definitely the theme out here. Dirty with lots of flies, smelly gear, and rude ass staff. I remember being scolded for taking my vest to the chairs to take a sip of water and when I asked the man scolding me why he also had his vest on and the people he was with had their vests on while sitting in the same area of chairs I was at-- he said cuz he owns the place. The water source for the lake is snowmelt. The water is very cold, probably around 55 degrees, even in July when the outside temp is 90+ degrees. The water was so cold that once the lifeguards pulled everyone ashore for the 45 minute rest period, my kids did not want to go back out because it required swimming in the frigid waters. The cold water temperature is not listed anywhere in the website, and I felt like it was cold enough that it should have prompted a disclosure or warning or FAQ of some sort. read more

First let me start by saying how "COLD" that water is! It's unbearable! It felt like knifes stabbing you, could barely move! If you get the hour pass just be advised it's going to take you about that much time to even get to the course! Can't even breathe. Besides how cold it is I think it could have been a lot more fun. For me... it was more I couldn't enjoy myself because how cold it was wish I would of known I would of wore a wet suit. They really should add that to there site so people can be prepared. I wouldn't even bring my younger kids would be waste of money because they wouldn't even want to get in. We got lucky we came afternoon someone left and we got a great spot off to the side. Staff can be a little rude but if you don't feed into it there's no problem. Didn't like that I had a little one at home and had an emergency so had to pay for WiFi. I paid the WiFi and it only worked if I was standing around the cabanas another thing they didn't mention so here I am standing in the middle of random peoples area just felt a little uncomfortable. Amazing park--ruined by one lifeguard and an unprofessional manager I had such high hopes for Splash N Dash. The park setup is fun, the activities were a blast, and it was shaping up to be an amazing day. But unfortunately, one lifeguard named Alex--and the manager backing him--completely ruined the experience. Let me start with what went right, because it's important: Two lifeguards on staff that day showed genuine kindness, empathy, and professionalism. After I was visibly upset and crying, one of them brought me tissues and stayed with me to make sure I was okay. Another took the time to actually listen to what happened and quietly told me, "Yeah, he's done this kind of thing before." Those two lifeguards were calm, mature, and emotionally intelligent--exactly the kind of people who should be leading and setting the tone for safety in a space like this. I wish I got their names, because they deserve serious recognition. Without them, I would've felt completely alone in that moment. Now the reason any of this happened: Alex. He's an 18-year-old lifeguard who I later found out is the nephew of the park's owner--so it's no surprise he acts so entitled. I had a couple drinks, like many other guests do (alcohol is legally sold on-site), but I wasn't causing problems. Out of nowhere, Alex started mocking me--calling me "drunk," and then, unprovoked, calling me a "white b****." That's not just unprofessional--it's aggressive, abusive, and straight-up unacceptable. When I got upset (as anyone would after being insulted and publicly humiliated), he immediately shifted his behavior when other people were around, trying to act like I was the problem. Manipulative, immature, and completely lacking any skill in de-escalation. And the manager? Just as disappointing. He looked to be in his 20s and didn't de-escalate, didn't listen, didn't take anything seriously. He just defended Alex, blamed me, and brushed the whole thing off like it was nothing. If this is how management handles conflict--by protecting the owner's nephew instead of guests--it says a lot. The irony is, the two younger lifeguards who aren't in charge were the only ones who actually should be. They showed real leadership, compassion, and maturity. Meanwhile, Alex and the manager are the ones with authority--and that's a safety issue. Neither of them should be responsible for guest wellbeing until they get serious training in emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and basic respect. I came to Splash N Dash expecting a fun time, and it was fun--right up until I was verbally attacked and then dismissed. I'm not writing this out of spite. I'm writing it because parks like this should be safe, welcoming spaces. And that won't happen until people like Alex are held accountable, and actual professionals like those two lifeguards are empowered. read more

Prior to getting here, I inquired about discount pricing, or any discount since there was a field that indicated you could put in a code. After I had left a message, Mary provided me many helpful tips: 1. Internet connection is weak so it is best to purchase tickets on-line prior to arriving 2. Complete your Waiver ahead of time to be processed faster 3. Discounts are applied to groups of 10 or more 4. Discounts available on certain days of the week for military veterans(Mon.?), 1st responders(Tues.?) & teachers(Thurs.). I would double check, but once you present your badge you are given FREE admission. Wow! I was really surprised at how much they appreciate people working in these fields, it really touched my In addition, don't forget to bring $8 for parking, & water shoes. What I also love about this place is the staff, majority of them being high schoolers, maybe college aged, but everyone was really helpful. The life guard was attentive to my daughter when she was struggling to get out of the water. Without prompting for help, the life guard automatically came & skillfully wisked my daughter easily out of the water. Let me tell you it is not an easy task getting someone else who is a little heavier than you out, so kudos to the young life guard. What I also appreciate about S n' D was they allow you to bring your own food & drinks in. In most amusement/water parks they use concession items to help make their revenue, but not so here, they really just want you to have fun at an affordable price. The obstacle courses made me feel like I was part of the Ninja Warrior show, things are definitely harder than they look, from monkey bars to balancing rope platforms, to water slides to the Blob, to going onto the Saturn & Ship Floatation Device. For the Saturn & Ship you really need great upper body strength to mount yourself up there. I wish both had a ladder for easier access. I was fortunate enough to have a kind stranger push me up, otherwise I would have never made it. We all enjoyed venturing out to the various stations. I highly recommend this place, there is so much to do. It isn't your typical water slide park. So glad my daughter found this hidden treasure, despite the long drive. read more

It was great! Not to busy for a Monday. We got there at 11am checked in and started. It was 103° but the water was ice cold. Life guards were doing their job. We did this for about four hours off and on. It's a work out for some of us "older" folks, but it was fun. The kids enjoyed it. I would definitely go again. read more

If your kids or grandkids have been there done that and your looking for something new this, is it. When I took my 11,8-year-old grandkids last year without even getting in the water they asked if they could come back this year....so we did this August. It's a long drive but worth it. Yes the water is cold but if you come on a hot day it offsets it. The kids just love it and don't want to come in plus its good exercise! We did do the water gun fight but that would have been more fun with lots of kids instead of just our 4 kids. They would have preferred to just stay in the water. For the adults I recommend a cabana waterfront. We rented it both times they are big and conveniently located to watch the kids and the action. I wished we had brought binoculars. Next year they will be 13, and 10 so we will see when they outgrow it, however I did see teenagers and some adults out there. You must bring water shoes. read more

I make a room reservation at Harris Ranch Resort in Coalinga, CA. I can't check-in at Harris Ranch Resort until 4:00pm so I was searching for kids playground on Yelp. And I came across Splash N Dash Aqua Park. So I decided to take my daughter to Splash N Dash on Saturday since it's on the way to Coalinga, CA from San Francisco. $37.99 per person weekend all day play. The weather in August was 103 degrees but the water is ice cold. My daughter and I thought we can't make it to floating Aqua Park. But when my daughter and I started swimming we felt less cold. When we got up on the floating Aqua Park playing. You can bring a pop-up tent & beach chairs. I highly recommend you bring your aqua shoes. That's all you needed. Life vests are provided. read more

We were here recently and wanted to offer some insight. Water is freezing cold, you have to swim to the obstacle area. The water was so cold people were screaming because it was so cold. Maybe adults and kids hesitated due to how ice cold the water was but eventually made it out. Once on the obstacle course lots of fun, kids had a blast. We lasted about an hour had to get back in the freezing water and swim back to beach area again freezing cold water just be prepared. We did go back on the obstacle course a couple more times lots of fun hardest part is getting there and swimming in freezing water. I do wish they had an easier way to get on the obstacle course instead of swimming in the freezing cold water lol. Recommend get there early to get a spot to set up theres two first come first serve areas right to the water park with a semi shaded area and bbq pit. They have really nice and I think affordable water view canopies for daily rental also a good option. Also I think some people might be ok with just purchasing an hour vs day pass, ex my kids did end up going back on throughout the day for about 3-4 hours. I only lasted an hour and unfortunately never made it back. read more

Husband and son had a blast but the water was freezing cold and we went mid July. I can't imagine how much colder it gets. It felt way colder than the beach at San Francisco/Santa Cruz. I was told the obstacles were really fun and challenging. They were completely wiped out on the trip back home and super sore the next day but my son still rated it a 10/10. read more

Oh my gosh.. Where do I even begin... This place is so much fun. Me, my friends, and my family all had a blast. This place has an adult area a kids area and a teen area. This was by far one of the best experiences I've had. Those lifeguards made the experience way more enjoyable. They were very hard working and they weren't being lazy and sitting around like some of the places I've been to. Just to name a few that I had a good experience with. Philip, Joselyn, and Braxon. I believe his name was Braxon. But yes they did make the experience way more enjoyable. They were very hard-working and making sure everyone was safe. Philip and Joselyn were very encouraging and I finally got over my fear of the 20-foot. The lifeguards enforced rules and just made the time more enjoyable. I went to Braxon for my life jacket because it was digging into my skin. He did his best to help me. The water was a bit chilly when I first got in but it ended up feeling nice. I loved Splash-N-Dash and I will recommend it to my friends and family. We also got a cabana it was the best thing that we could have done it had a perfect view of the whole park and we were able to see everything that was going on. Yes they do provide a unique place for the kids to have fun in the water. But the ridiculously outrageous price that you have to pay...... You would think you were paying to get into Disneyland. We went to Splash n dash on the first Sunday it was opened. There was a bit of a wait while the router was worked on. Once that was figured out, we were set to go. We did the one hour flight pass for one hour and it was plenty of time. Couple of places for improvement: Lifeguards not placed in the best possible spot, a little girl was having trouble on the spot where there's like a monkey bars inflatable cave section. Lifeguards didn't see or hear her calling for help, my husband got her out and she was a bit shaken up. Bathrooms are dirty and full of flies, wear your suits under your clothes or change in the car if possible. PLEASE WATCH YOUR KIDS!! The structure moves quite a bit. Don't trust that they will be watched though, like I said theres a few places where it's hard to see if kids fell into the water and cant get out. read more

We've been going to Splash N Dash since they opened a few years ago. While my kids still love it, there are definitely some hiccups. For the most part, the people working there seem miserable and put out, though I do use the term working loosely. The life vest situation is a complete disaster. People are asked to turn their life vests in any time they come out of the water. I understand they do this to prevent theft, but when they want to get back in the water, they have to wait in a long line to get a life vest again. There is only one person handing out life vests and it takes forever. It would make more sense to hand out the lifevest upon check-in and charge people who do not return them. Or charge a fee up front for the life vest and refund it once it's turned in. The upside is, depending on who is working the life vest station, they may not even be paying attention and you'll be able to walk right past with your vest. The girl working ours was too busy eating, visiting or completing to do her job. You can avoid the entire life vest situation if you bring your own, though, so that's great. They have a makeshift sprinkler set up to try and help, but it doesn't quite get the job done. I reached out to let them know my daughter got a pretty bad burn from the slide because the sprinklers were not on. I witnessed three parents on shore ask that they turn the sprinkler on but it didn't happen. Their response was off putting and they seemed annoyed that I would even bother reaching out to them. There is a certain area of the park that is for kids 12 and over. Our 13 year old boys were denied entry onto that area of the park because the lifeguards didn't think they looked old enough. They then questioned if our kids were held back. I'm not sure the relevance of that, but it definitely isn't professional or needed. If you're going to have an area of the park available only to certain ages, you should be identifying those ages with a different colored wristbands. I think better adult supervision would solve a lot of these problems but they definitely need to work the out kinks. As much as my kids love this place, it's a frustrating experience at times. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! Went on a Monday during the Summer with a friend and her son. Bought our tickets and seating online which made check in fast. We picked the Premier Seating (For 2) which was perfect. We had front row seats to see the inflatables. I got 4 tickets for us all to enjoy the park, but I wasn't brave enough. I did enjoy a float with my friend which was relaxing. The water is ice, I mean ICE cold! The kids were freezing when they came out to relax. The bathrooms could be better. There's porta potty's or a cider block restroom with very small stalls which made changing very hard. That's the only downside to the whole park. read more

My family and I came last year and again this year, both times were fun! If you buy tickets online you get a cheaper price than in person. Plus we were able to take advantage of the hero discount tickets. When I had questions about how the discounts worked they responded right away and were very clear with the details (Monday to Thursday, but one adult ticket the hero gets in free.) The water is pretty cold but you get used to it. All the staff members are very friendly and helpful. Plus I love that splash n dash donated to the Boris Elementary carnival for a fundraiser. We were here all day with our 7 and 8 year olds and they were entertained the entire time. If we lived anywhere close I would definitely get a season pass. We stopped here for a break from a hot day at Yosemite; if you come from east of the park, watch what road you take because some roads you do not want to take if you're trailering, like Coulterville-Priest Road. There are three areas: 1. Lil splash - ages 6 and younger. It is required that an adult accompany children. Life jacket (free to borrow) and aqua shoes required for all. This age group is not allowed on the main area. 2. 18 and older lounge area, no life jacket, admission, or aqua shoes required. 3. Main attraction- ages 7 and up. Life jacket and aqua shoes required for all. Aqua shoes - not crocs, Tevas, or anything like it. They're available here for $15 plus tax if you need to buy them. In June 2022, California had a law that you can't try them on due to Covid. Bring a cooler and snacks, beach blanket and tent, and make a day of it. The water is brisk, but it was hot when we were there so that was fine. The kids were motivated enough to reach the inflatables so they didn't really complain about it either. We had some confusion and misunderstanding while we were there, and greatly appreciated how their manager (lady with red hair) handed it in a professional manner. I am so very happy We found this out of the way gem. My husband and I took our 28 year old son with Down Syndrome and three grandkids ranging from 7 to 12. Though my son and I didn't use the water park itself, he and I sure enjoyed cooling off in the water. I highly recommend renting a cabana. So relaxing and comfortable. Wow- what can I say about this place, DO NOT GO!! Awful awful people! I paid 600.00 dollars for a birthday party at this place and first off they don't tell you that the water is absolutely freezing I'm talking ice cold, there were kids crying it was so cold and I myself couldnt even get in, 4 of the people with us didn't end up doing it just cause the water. Then the flies, OMG the amount of flies was horrendous they land all over your food and lay eggs on it and fly in your mouth and I brought it up to them and they told me to go buy a fly swatter from the store, they don't provide any fans or misters or anything for the tents. That's not even the worst part. At the end of the day after the party was over I texted the people about my experience and instead of saying oh I'm sorry how can we resolve the issue they proceeded to call me a bully and aggressive so they could justify to themselves about not having to be civilized and offer some kind of compensation for the experience, I wasn't even looking for financial compensation just some kind of acknowledgement of some kind and she proceeded to get in an hour long text argument with me about how awful I am and because I didn't chew them out at the time of the party then it's not ok for me to complain afterwards. Just terrible people work there, or who does the complaints anyways, they need to take a class on how to deal with unhappy people, if you don't complain in a happy tone they accuse you of bullying them. All of my complaints went out the window when they accused me of being a bully. Don't complain if your unhappy with anything they'll just yell at you for complaining. I wish that whoever was taking my complaint would've been nicer. It really was awful to be accused of that just cause I complained. I have to just do this so I feel some kind of justification for them treating me this way. If you decide to plan a birthday party here, good luck people! You'll need it. read more

Went the first week they opened. Planned a camping trip around this attraction! They are off to a great start! The owner is a parent and has a lot of hospitality experience so she knows what families look for, i.e. chairs and umbrellas for the families members that choose not to jump but want to be comfortable. She has not cut corners. She's done it right. She explained that she was not required to have lifeguards on duty but knew that families were trusting them with their kiddos so she felt it was the right thing to do and pay the extra money to certify all her staff that was on safety watch! That's the kind of local family owned business I want to give my money to! Bravo Mary! Cheers to a successful start! I can't wait to see what next level guest experience you have in store for us! When we first got to McSwain Lake, the first thing I wanted to do was tell the owner of Splash n Dash what a GENIUS IDEA!!!! I asked my children what they liked the most about that day... they said the staff. I have never seen so much interaction with children anywhere. It was over 100 degree weather and the staff had an Amazing attitude towards the children. The owner was BEYOND courteous, respectful, thoughtful, sweet, giving, I CAN GO ON & ON!!! We purchased a 4 hour ticket but was having so much fun, ended up staying till they close. Mary ( the owner ) is all about family having a good time. She thought of everything!!!! I mean even down to the music. My friend and I had such a relaxing day, we lounged all day. For all you mommas out there, you know that's not easy to do at the lake. I want to go back and spend another AWESOME fun filled relaxing day. We plan on making this an annual event for the next 8 YEARS.
