It took us almost two hours to get here . I saw this on Groupon so we decided to come here on my son's 10th birthday. The customer service was great . He was really nice and very helpful and answered all my questions. Minus one star for flies . Too many flies and we were disappointed with this little cafe they had . This place is awesome! Friendly staff ( all the ones I encountered ) they allow you to bring your own food and drinks including beers,no bottles.. I love that it's very well organized and has plenty of restrooms. There's lots of space to bring your own canopies,bbq pits etc. The lake is freezing cold!! But it's so much fun. We came here to rent kayaks for my daughter's birthday. We decided on renting a paddleboat first. Immediately after paying, we were told the boat was unavailable due to dirt left by someone who decided to fish in it. We were told to wait another 40 minutes by the owner Mary until it got cleaned. I was disappointed by the delay but staff member Christina decided to get on her knees and cleaned the entire boat herself. Gave us an extra 20 min on the water too. My family and I camped at Mcswain for 3 days. On the second day we decided to go to the splash-n-dash. It was one of the main reasons we found and camped at this location we were all excited. We had 4 adults and 9 children we had with us a total of 13 people we spoke with the young lady in the front taking our waivers and was not told that we couldn't get on the main attractions due to the winds picking up. We were told that we would be able to buy the all day passes and get on all big bounces. Customer service wise i was highly disappointed.The young lady proceeded to tell us our price which came out to 490$ for all day passed which was fine and then we were told that we all had to purchase water shoes which was ok as well. Which was another 200$ for all 13 of us. Right when when we were about to pay all that money a girl with red hair came up very rude and said the main two big attractions we couldn't go on because the wind picked up mind you we were paying for an all day passes so i looked to her and said why would we pay all this money for all day passes and not be able to get on the main attractions? Maybe we should pay for the hour pass instead of all day then. Then the red haired girl then said and, " If we want to we can tell you all to leave and shut down for the day if the winds picks up even more! which it looks like we are going to be doing any minute now." So then i looked to my husband and said i don't think it's even worth it to pay 600$ for 10-20 minutes out there just to be told the winds picked up and we all have to leave."The red haired girl then said to me. " Just by your attitude I'm going to tell you right now that that we don't have to let sell you any tickets! ." I was beyond dumbfounded at her for taking her job so literal that she let her summer job position go to her head and make her feel that she could be rude to her companies customers!! I said excuse me my attitude who are you to tell me anything like that i simply asked a question and was speaking to my husband at that why would we pay 490$ for all day passes and then pay 200$ for shoes for you to only allow us on the small attractions and then tell me in 20 minute we all have to leave!? She then said," You know what we aren't going to be selling you any tickets good bye!" I said that's fine you just lost your job 600$ for the day.. She then threatened us by saying ," Well just have the ranger come and kick you out!" My husband was pissed and told her yeah you have him come and talk to us we're in camp site 16! I proceeded to walk to the car and let everyone know she wasn't going to sell us tickets and proceeded to get in my car she kept running her mouth as i was entering my car i then told her to shut up already we are leaving why are you still running your mouth! your still talking to me there's no need for it just shut up already we leaving and taking our money with us there problem solved!!! I was beyond embarrassed by her actions and 13 people including minors witness her being disrespectful. We weren't going to let her ruin our day so we went to the lake and made a fun day out of it. Needless to say it's a great location and fun place just be mindful that some of the employees can't handle there job or take it to seriously. Such a fun day was had by the adults and kids in our group! We went on a week day and got a great spot under a shade tree near a picnic table. For those of us not on the course we had a waterfront spot to watch the kids and other adults on course. The staff was great! We will definitely be going back again before summer is over. read more

So we decided to give this place a try during the quarantine because nothing else was open. When I first got there, I was skeptical because I saw a lot of children playing on it. I am 30 years old and thought I had made a mistake making the drive. However I went to get tickets and was greeted by Gabby. Gabby was so helpful and sweet! She told us how fun the place was and how she loves going out there after her work day. She was so genuine and kind. We bought tickets and got in the water. Gabby was right! It was a fun time! I later met Anisa while renting a paddle board, another sweet young lady with a great attitude! Staff is great here! They are fun loving and energetic! Obstacles was by far a lot of fun for the kids. First, everyone headed towards the obstacles float has to swim there with a life vest! The lake water is FREEZING COLD- but once you get over that- you should be fine! Save time and a few bucks if you buy tickets online because reception is very limited! Make sure everyone also completes online waiver! This place was great! Had a softball team bonding there and the girls had a blast. The staff was extremely helpful and super friendly. My husband and I drove from Las Vegas for the grand opening. We had an amazing time. We watched people of all ages jump, swim, swing and bounce on this aqua equipment. You could hear the laughing and delightful squeals of kids and adults all day long. We had such a great time that we will be back before the season is over with our grand-kids. I love that there is an area for the little ones as well! The "littles" always feel left out sometimes when the bigger kids get all the fun stuff, Mary made sure to include an area just for them. We go camping at McSwain several times a year. It's nice to see the store make a come back and stay open till 11pm on Friday and Saturday's. Mary is doing an awesome job and I hope she is successful with this! We have not used the water park but it is definitely getting the business it needs to make it! We went and sat on the patio during the evening and enjoyed some laid back beach music Mary was playing, very relaxing. It would be nice to have a little bar out there with some lights and music, all though she does sell beer in the store and had a speaker playing music which was good too! Hats off to all the staff, our first time experience was great!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, my kids had a great time. The best thing is that we all felt safe with life guards all around, we as parents were able to watch our kids and enjoy ourselves too!! The radio station was there and they too we're welcoming. I had a fun time at the obstacle courses. The staff out in the water was nice and seemed to like their job. On the other hand the rest of the staff was rude and unorganized. There were several times when we went to go do something and then got scolded for not knowing what we could do. We saw there were people taking chairs to their area so we did as well and the staff literally told us the others got "special permission" and we had to put it back. There were people running around everywhere with their life jackets but when we went back to our area with ours we got yelled at to put it back. When we rented a canoe, the lady just took our payment and gave us no instructions on how to use it, where to go or what to do. Then a lady started asking us all these questions as if we knew what to do and why we were doing things the way we were. I would suggest for the staff to be more organized and make rules more clear so it's fair for everyone. I would also recommend bringing all your own food and snacks so you don't have to deal with them! read more
