I won't go anywhere else for a car battery as I purchased a gel battery and if I purchase another car very soon I will be going back to get another gel battery for the new car! A little pricey but so worth it because they are maintenance free!!!! And...they have motorcycle batteries as well as back up generators and inverters for power outages or camping!!! Came here years ago. Before yelp existed actually. But I still remember that day I came here for a battery. Came here to send off my brand new optima battery and I had to come here. They gave me a temporary used only battery to put in my car, so worn down that there was no indication of the positive and negative side. They could have helped me swap out the batteries there at the shop, since I had no tools. End result , I put the battery in backwards. Fried my system and had to get it towed outta there. It cost me good amount of money, but hey, here I am. One worker was actually assisting me until the owner or someone called him away from me and they just looked at me watching as I struggled to put in the battery. A little help goes a long way, common sense to help someone in need even though they just came to use the "warranty" on their new battery.... Don't come here, buy a new battery from auto zone or any parts store, they have the courtesy to actually help you out without hesitation :) read more

I was in there no more than three weeks ago and purchased A auto battery and some lithium batteries for my string light Solar panel from modesto Battery, the girl at the counter who sold them to me looked at solar battery I took as an example and sold me the ones she believed would work. When I got home I tried putting them in the panel and it did not work so I took him back in and at first the guy who waited on me said he could not return them because I did not have a receipt. I told them to check their system since I had given my phone number and he said that he found the purchase in their system but he still going to return them because then he cannot resell them. When I purchased them they had some for sale that were taped up because somebody else had probably returned them or they were courteous enough to check and compare and make sure they were exact what the customer wanted. My return was $18 I was also going to purchase a auto battery as well And use the refund towards the new purchase. Saying that he went to ask the manager and the manager also refused to do the return. I will take my business elsewhere. I also want to note that the day I made my original purchase The manager was waiting on a customer who had a return on some battery extensions that the manager had sold her and they did not fit her mobile home so he was kind enough to give her two other examples to see which one of those work, I was wondering why I was not receiving the same customer service she received. I guess the trick here is to make your purchase from the manager since he was stand behind his word when he sells an item. For anyone in the customer service business you know it's not about the $18 it's about the relation with your customer. I had been purchasing from this company for more than seven years, purchasing a minimum of 15 Batteries per year and referring other colleagues in the same business as myself. I will no longer recommend them. I can assure you they lost more than $18. read more

I inquired about a charger setup through Instagram. Answered all my question through DM. Which he didn't have to but I really appreciated. Went down the next day and ended up buying a jumper pack to keep in my boat. Going to get a charger later. But very friendly staff. And for those that appreciate it they all had mask on and asked that I wear mine too. I'm not into the mask rules at all. But because of their great customer service I obliged. Modesto Battery is the best you can get. I went hear from a recommendation and was not disappointed. I just purchased a used motorhome and knew the batteries needed replacing. I went in knowing nothing about them and not only did they have better prices than a competitor I had gone to prior, but I learned about what I was buying. The price and storage of the battery was way better than the competitor as well. They took the time to show me how they should be wired (I was buying 2 batteries) and made sure I understood the difference between the battery types they offered. They even took them to my car, and took the time to put down cardboard underneath the batteries. Honestly this is better service than I ever hope for from anyone. Used battery I bought exploded when I tried to start my car 2 months later. I brought the battery in for a refund and try refused to honor the warranty. I was told it s what I get for buying a used battery. After trying to explain why that was an incorrect thing to tell a customer, another employee gave me a new battery instead w a 6 months warranty. The nattery, however was a generic, no liable battery w no way of knowing full it s new or not refurbished like the one I already purchased. I already had bought a new battery just to use my car and I can't return that battery to that location so I now have an extra battery I don't need. I will not return in the future merely for how being told it s what I get for buying a used battery..fyi, don't sell used batteries if u won't honor ur advertised warranty policy. read more
