I went to Thai Modern HUNGRY. I left not hungry as it has good portion sizes but ultimately I wasn't impressed. My friends that I came with rated their meals 4 and 5 stars. I'm a big fan of Thai food, but I have to admit, I was just okay with my experience. I tried the app sampler and the holy basil chili bomb. While I enjoyed the concept, I felt like it could have used more basil and chili for that real punch of flavor. They did bring out a spice tray for me to add more heat, but I expected the dish to be more vibrant from the start. The blue jasmine rice was cool to look at, but honestly, it just tasted like regular jasmine rice. I'm guessing they just added food coloring for visual appeal, which was fine, but I was hoping for something a bit more interesting. The restaurant has a few tables, but it's mostly booth seating, which are comfortable. The others in my group ordered the crab fried rice, drunken noodles, and pad Thai and more, which they seemed to enjoy. There was a sewage issue that caused a funky smell, but I'm not going to dock points for that. Stuff happens, and it's a reminder to be careful with what gets flushed down the toilet aka don't flush things down the toilet. Even if it says flushable. Overall, while the food wasn't bad, it didn't blow me away like I hoped it would. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't rate it as high as my friends did. Still, it's worth checking out if you're nearby and want to try it for yourself.

If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Thai food, this restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm ambiance and inviting aromas set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The service was top tier, the chef even came out to greet us!

I took my friend there because she wanted something quick after our hike, a lot of places were closed on Sunday. Sat down at the table everyone was nice and greeted us, it was my friend's first time eating Thai, so I recommended them to get either some type of curry or pad Thai stir-fry.. my friend ended up ordering the basil rice, which was very bland! While I had the Num Tok beef salad (delicious by the way!), we had also arrived there close to closing time, we had roughly an hour to order food eat and leave. My friend wasn't satisfied with the stir-fried rice, so I asked the waitress to help us out to doctor it up instead of sending it back to the kitchen and trying to order something else close to closing time, so I asked about getting a side of curry sauce to fix the bland rice... the waitress proceeds to say that will be five dollars... as someone who used to work in the food industry, why would you allow your guest to order something that you know is not representative of your Thai food (or any food) specialty, and then try to nickel and dime us for trying to fix your bland food!! looking back on it, I shouldn't have tipped, because they clearly do not care about the customers' experience!! We wont be back, and I dont recommend

I found out about this hidden gem on a social media page. I'm so glad we decided to try them out. This is probably some of the best Thai food I've had! Everything was fresh and flavorful. We had the curry puffs, gyoza, shrimp fried rice, and beef panag curry. Friendly, professional and fast service. Nice, clean restaurant. Plus, 5 star food! We will definitely return.

This is our favorite Thai place south of the city. We come for lunch quick and quick out the green papaya salad hot Thai style. It's fantastic. My wife gets the larb salad, always a winner.

Great spot in Tyrone, GA! Very cool interior. Pleasant staff and great food! I placed my to go order of the Salad Rolls, and Drunken Noodles w/beef and chicken. While I waited I ordered a beer, the Leo brand. Good light tasting beer. I was given a glass of water to go with it. Nice instrumental music playing. A very good vibe and really good food. I'll be back!

    Roasted Duck Curry

On of our favorite restaurants. You can taste that everything is made fresh from scratch. Presentation is beautiful and look at the colorful dishes. If you haven't been, you are missing out! It's so delicious!

The coffee wasn't as sweet as I prefer but the beignets came out hot and fresh, absolutely delicious! The restaurant space was aesthetically pleasing! Their dining area is quite spacious, and cute signage they even had outdoor seating. The one thing that concerns me was their score of "88". Of course this is a personal preference but I wasn't too thrilled to see that low of a score. Where it's placed, is out of the way and one would only notice it if they're sitting at the table by the window in the front room. It just seems like it's strategically place in an area where it can be seen but it's not obvious.

Sometimes we just their Beignets, sometimes both bakery delights and the coffee brew. The Beignets are so pretty and look so tasty that even when I bring my own fruit and yogurt breakfast, I'll still say 'what the heck on sugar and carbs' -- It's breakfast, I have all day to burn those. SO MUCH BETTER than picking up a box of donuts for a meeting. If you want to really impress your group - go square - don't be a round hole. (Ha little bakery humor there) Their chocolate beignet is to die for -- not too sweet. Cinnamon is 2nd best (my taste buds) The traditional sugar topped rivals anything you would get in New Orleans. All are finger licking good. Haven't been in the store yet, so update on that -- I'll be scheduling a meet up with a friend to go to this local specialty #bakery in 2026!! Until then I'll keep enjoying them at 1M Cups.

Note for out-of-town visitors -- I think dining here is more about the aspect of communal dining than expectations for a truly 5-star meal, as I've found the food to be overall average. Especially for the price. The hostess is friendly and helpful. My waitresses have been attentive and kind. The service is good and consistent. The food menu is very limited in options for vegans & vegetarians. They serve beer, wine & spirits. There is a drink menu available upon request for beer, wine and spirits. There was a guitar player playing beautiful live music for the duration of my first visit (Feb 2026). During my most recent visit (8 April 2026), I ordered the Pecan Crusted grouper with red cabbage & seasonal veggies. The grouper was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside & topped with a strawberry mango fruit compote. Both the cabbage and veggies were overcooked which was disappointing bc I appreciate some good texture! The flavors were good though. So if completely softened veggies are your thing, I think you'd enjoy them. To drink, I ordered a mocktail that is new to the drink menu -- a Triple Citrus Paloma. It was refreshingly tart & garnished with a honey dipped Tajin rim! Shoutout to Lucinda for curating it. Additionally, my husband and I shared the salmon croquettes as an appetizers & I had the key lime tart to go. Neither was necessarily memorable (I completely forgot about them until prompted by Yelp to review this review) but I'd order the croquettes again! City Cafe & Bakery has a pretty vast selection of desserts! Cakes. Pies. Tarts. Petit fours. Cookies. Cannolis. Cheesecake. Eclairs. Mousse. Everything is baked in-house except the macarons. Be sure to ask about the promos. Wednesday & Thursday, purchase an adult entree get a free slice of cake or any 3" pastry. Wednesday thru Saturday, kids eat free from 3-8 pm. I also saw a flyer for their Mother's Day brunch buffet on Sunday, May 10th. It's from 11 am - 3 pm. $49 for Adults. $29 for Kids, under 12. Available for booking online.

Yes I have been there before and only give them 4 stars probably because their reputation was so big I needed to balance that... Totally in on 5 stars now. #1 Food -- been around FOREVER but still hear of people making it a point to support the locally owned business. Now they partner with the local brewery AWKWARD for Octoberfest and that has opened up new doors for them... and they celebrate on their patio all month long. The bakery is one of the best in the area. I was able to order sausage through them for a special party that they buy from a meat packer WAY on the other side of Atlanta. #2 Service -- the fact that they would work with me to add on to their meat order shows they care about the community and their customers. That they would partner with a small brewery to bring their Schnitzel and all the other things they make great that are traditional German dishes shows openness to collaborate and grow rather than compete. And they are very efficient in house to keep the table moving without feeling rushed, because there almost always is a wait at dinner. #3 Small dining area, but feels as comfortable as grandmas. Authentic 'bistro' decor. The bakery goods case is the showcase in the room... always calling out for desert or tomorrow's breakfast to take home with you.
