After 4 weeks of silence, I finally reached someone on a Friday--the owner himself--who told me the painting was "ready" but stuck in a warehouse that had closed 30 seconds earlier. something wrong must be going on here-- well on their way to 1 star! first orders were fine, but then a simple order of three 8x10 picture frames went bad. 2 out of the 3 arrived with broken glass, so i called and was assured that replacement glass would be shipped out right away. seemed like problem solved, but the replacement glass never came. 2 more phone calls and 3 emails went unanswered, and as of now-- two weeks later-- still no glass, and no response either. note to seller-- please don't answer with nonsense like 'please call to discuss'-- i have already called, have already emailed, if you want the review to improve just send the glass as promised! my next step in just couple more days, i will dispute the charge on my credit card, sad to do it, as i will not be ordering the additional frames i had planned to. read more

I brought in a piece I had cross stitched to be framed. I mentioned that the piece was a little wrinkled and was assured it was no problem. When I went to pick the piece up they had plopped it in a frame wrinkles and all. No attempt to stretch the piece like they do when you have something custom framed at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. My review follows making an online order - - I only wished I'd seen the negative reviews before placing my order. If I could give this business less than one-star I would. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact the proprietor - - I have been left hanging for more than a week and, despite leaving multiple numerous voice-messages (when the voice-message isn't full and not accepting messages), sending multiple text messages and emails, the proprietor has ignored me at every point. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I never write negative reviews, in fact this is my first 1 star review, but I have been given no choice. I wanted to support a smaller business, but I am so disappointed in Modern Memory Design and Michal K's poor customer service and lack of communication. Not only did my order arrived 3 weeks later than I was told, which I had to email many times for tracking information and status updates with hardly any responses... But, once the shipment arrived it was the WRONG frame size and color I had purchased almost a month prior (this was a very expensive 36x41 custom black frame). Michal claims "there was a swap on labels." Now Michal is asking that I re-pack the wrong frame and ship back to them, its a massive 46x46 brown frame - and yet he has not supplied any pre-paid shipping label, or even a simple apology for sending the wrong order 3+ weeks late. Am I really expected to pay for the wrong item's return shipping (at least $150 shipping fees)? All the while, I am still waiting on a status update/tracking information on my original order placed and paid for on April 13th - its been over a month and there has been no indication my order even exists. I finally asked for a refund and so far crickets, stay tuned.... Michal & team, please do better, this is infuriating. Sorry for the novel. Ordered a custom frame from Michael (the owner) through the site after giving him a call on September 9 2020. He says it will be ready by the 15th which was a week away. That was cool with me, I agreed to his price of $245 and waited. The day rolls around and NOTHING. I drive over since I'm nearby and find the operation to be run out of his house and not an actual store. He promises it will be ready in another week. Great customer service is what keeps clients loyal. They tell their friends and family. So out of the over 50 framing places in northern New Jersey alone I'm telling my friends and family not to go here. I took a simple piece to be framed. I was told to park in front of the place of business though it was not a parking space. The employee told me it was fine. When I got home I saw a folded ticket in my windshield. I called the store and was told he would credit me $50 for the ticket. It was $55 but I shouldn't have listened and parked someplace else despite his reassurances. That was fair. I brought my ticket to the store and the employee was rude and dismissive giving me $40 and saying, " Let's call it even." I reminded him that I was told to park there. He told me that I was the driver and that he wasn't going to "entertain" any more of this. It's not about how he lied about giving me $50 it was his dismissive and rude demeanor. I am Black and a woman. Maybe that had something to do with my treatment. I told him I wouldn't forget this. He said, " Good, tell all your friends". So I am honoring his request. read more
