The service is excellent. I've been there two times, and the furniture is top-notch. Easy to get to and lots of parking. Also, the prices are excellent, at least 100 to $200 off any other place I found.

This is ridiculous and lazy how they dropped off two couches.

Came into the shop and yes they have good prices but after you pay they seem to stop caring about you. Ridiculous and lazy how they dropped off 2 couches like this. They should have communicated that set up was not included, we would have paid extra for set up.

Summary: Worked with Modern Home Furniture for 10 months to try and get defects, present from delivery, repaired on a new, two-piece sectional. After help within the first 3 months of ownership, was ghosted for 7 months by customer service, prior to being told they were closing my ticket and suggesting I work with the manufacturer. We chose Modern Home Furniture because we try and support local businesses when we can. However, Modern Furniture has shown us that we can't trust them with the quality of their products or the manner by which they take care of their customers. Their behavior through this process was extremely frustrating and proposed resolution, unacceptable. We will be shopping at a more trustworthy and reputable store for future purchases and recommend anyone who reads this review to avoid headaches and do not give Modern Home Furniture your business. Overview: Bought a new, two-piece sectional from Modern Home Furniture, November 2021. Sectional was delivered December 2021 and upon assembly, noted multiple areas of damage and defects, with the most egregious being a 1 inch misalignment with the backrest of the sectional (see pictures). We immediately contacted customer service to create a ticket. Initially, customer service was responsive and, within 2 months of initial delivery, sent a tech from the manufacturer out to inspect and repair the couch. Tech completed some minor repairs, but was not able to fix the major alignment issue. He said he would include the unresolved issue in his report and to contact Modern Home Furniture within a week if we didn't hear anything. Modern Home Furniture failed to reach out for a month and only did so after we sent a message - they cited a medical reason for a delay in response and mentioned they would follow up with the manufacturer. After another month of no communication, we reached out again. Modern Home Furniture replied 7 months later to explain they were no longer working with the manufacturer. They also explained that they would then be closing our ticket and recommended we work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue. We have not reached out to the manufacturer, but find Modern Home Furniture's lack of communication and closing of the ticket, without a more certain or favorable resolution, extremely frustrating and unacceptable. We will not be doing business with Modern Home Furniture again.

Updated: Nathalie reached out to us and offered a solution and arranged for a new couch delivery after the review. Thanks Nathalie for coming through and helping us out with great customer service. Very shady business. We purchased a cloud 9 sectional from Nathalie a couple weeks ago. The sectional was perfect in store and everything we were looking for and she said it would be free delivery. We go to checkout and then they tell us it's not free delivery because we are 5 miles further than their range, the total cost then jumps from under $2000 to over $2000. First of all if you're giving out wrong information you should honor what you say, but this company is not reputable and won't budge. We receive the sectional on the day as promised and we notice that the arm rest is crooked, the stitching is uneven, it smells like mildew and nowhere on the box does it say the brand Cloud 9 like they advertised in store. We submitted a claim per their website within 24 hours to get a replacement. Didn't get a response in 2 days, so we called and they said they would remind them. Still haven't gotten a response so I guess we will just settle with the couch we got. By the time they open again on Wednesday, it will be past 7 days and we cannot return the couch per their policy since they won't get back to us- well played shady company! Buyer beware, you will not get the same quality you see in store and once you buy, their return and exchange policy is nonexistent much like other reviews. There were several other things we wanted to buy but I'm glad we didn't spend our thousands of dollars here for poor quality and service. We will never shop here again.

The shopping experience itself was good. We got our couches in less than two weeks, when the estimated time was 3-6 weeks. The negative was that when we went to pick up the couches, they were in half-boxes with a thin foam and plastic wrapped around them. This would normally not be a problem, but they make you sign that the furniture is in good condition. When I mentioned to the salesperson that I felt strange signing the paper when I had not actually seen the couches, she got offended and said, "Well, they just came off the truck and out of our warehouse, so there's no way there is any damage." It made me feel bad about even mentioning it. I'm sure you know where this is going. Yep, got home and got the plastic off and there was a large hole in the bottom of the cardboard and loveseat. It was after hours, and I had already had a bad experience with the person working there, so I didn't feel comfortable contacting them again. I'm also not looking to be compensated, but I wanted to warn people to double-check, especially if you are discouraged from doing so.

Just playing the victim card

If I could give zero I would. I paid a deposit last year on a couch that they could not deliver. They offered to pick a new one or cancel the order and I foolishly opted to wait. Fast forward 2 days. I was furloughed so I asked to take them up on the offer. They then said it would be a $200 cancellation fee or I could have a credit. Seeing as I only had 560 or so in it, I took the credit. February this year I reinstated my order with the expectation (set by Nathalie) that if they could not deliver after 12 weeks I could have a full refund. Well 12 weeks has come and gone, no couch, no update and I'm on week 2 of attempting to get a refund. Their voicemail is full, they do not answer the phone and I have emailed numerous times. I was able to get through one time last week and escalated the situation to who I assume is the owner, she spent the entire "conversation" cutting me off and speaking over me. I told her she was cutting me off and just talking fast over me in which she again cut me off saying "well I'm Latina, I just speak fast" which is the oddest excuse for being rude I have ever heard. I have had to resort to commenting on all of their Facebook posts in order to get any response at all. I spoke to Nathalie yesterday and she said I now cannot have a full refund, only what I paid in February. I offered to pay the $200.00 cancellation fee in order to never have to deal with them again. She stated she will tell her managers "my offer" and call me back. I received no call back. They did however comment on my Fb post claiming that they have been trying to reach me and I should just go into the store instead of trying to "hurt them" and then blocked me from commenting on their profile. Modern Home Furniture quite literally has zero redeeming qualities right now. Give me my refund , next is the BBB if they do not choose to do the right thing and refund me immediately.

The owners will lie to make a SALE! . This is worst place to buy furniture to be honest. The prices are very lowly because they the quality is bad. They owner called me to take down my post from before but in my heart I felt it just needed to be said.

Two workers in the hardwood flooring area completely ignored us the whole 45 minutes we were there. We finally flagged down a 3rd person who attempted to help us. He warned us that he had only been working there for 3 weeks and would grab somebody if we had questions he couldn't answer. But as we asked questions, it became abundantly clear that he was content with making answers up instead of getting somebody who knew what they were talking about. He initially didn't know the difference between site-finished and pre-finished hardwood floor until we described it to him. He couldn't explain how to tell which floor options had bevels between the boards and at one point claimed that a specific example floor only "looked like it had bevels because it was hanging vertically for the display" (obviously a completely wrong answer as you could see the individual boards had bevels on them). At one point, he told us that if we wanted to a site-finish floor then we could install a pre-finished board, completely strip it, and then re-finish it with the finish we wanted. I understand he was new but he never once actually went to get anyone else and confidently stood by all of his answer. He should NOT have been interacting with customers on his own as he clearly had no idea what he was talking about. And the cherry on top is that this whole conversation occurred within earshot of two other employees who never once offered their input, help, or correction. The complete lack of customer service and flooring knowledge is unacceptable and we will never be going back to this location or any other.

I stopped in to buy some Easter basket items and picked up a "Make It Real fashion sketchbook". Instead of walking over to look at the product--despite being only about 12 feet away--he glanced from a distance, checked his phone for a moment, and told her it was $13.99. That didn't sit right with me, so after paying, Something didn't feel right so I went back to check the shelf myself. The exact same item was clearly marked $5.79. I brought the correctly priced item and photos to the manager. He offered no apology and simply said the online price he saw was higher. When I returned to the register to correct the purchase, he brushed it off again, saying the item "must have been marked wrong." The issue isn't just the price difference--it's the lack of effort and accountability. The manager didn't take a moment to walk over and verify the product, didn't check the shelf, and didn't seem concerned about overcharging a customer by more than double. Not everyone can absorb that kind of mistake, and customers shouldn't have to double-check basic accuracy. Do better. Customers trust matters, and so does taking the time to get it right. Customers should trust the store to be accurate and fair the first time.

We went to Mattress Firm first, where they pushed the split king (so buying 2 twin beds of our preferences). We liked the idea. Hated a few other mattress stores. Went here as a last stop to just see what they had. We met Joshua, who was incredible. He explained that 2 separate twins would be the most expensive possible option and that he was sure he would find something for us to agree on. He was right. We tried out 5 beds alongside him and he asked us questions to narrow down our search and figure out what we were actually looking for. We fell in LOVE with the Avocado mattress. It was actually medium-soft, though my partner wanted a firm bed, but so supportive and comfy that he fell for it. It really was the best of all the things we wanted and easily our favorite. Joshua was super helpful in both his methodology and the info we got. He honored a sale for us, helped us pick out pillows, and gave us just the right amount of care without overwhelming us. We were back in to purchase the next day and are now awaiting delivery! Yay! These guys are the real deal. They are not owned by any big companies, so are able to speak candidly on brands and really hone in on what will work best, not meeting sales quotas. We felt like they were honest AND had the best selection. Looking back, this is the only mattress store where I really felt comfortable and like I was in good hands.

My son and I spent about 3 interesting hours with a salesman, who is a part owner of the company. My son learned that about two years ago when he and his wife spent time in this store. When he knew that I needed a new mattress, he recommended this place because they had had an informative visit with one of the owners there. This man welcomed us when we arrived. He remembered my son's face, but not his name. Anyway, I told him what mattress I had, and why I wanted a new one, and what features were important to me. He listened intently and started having me try mattresses, and asked me questions about my experience laying down on each one. I tried 4 of them, and I liked them all, but the 5th one, when I laid down, felt like it was crafted especially for me. Joshua, the owner/salesman, re-explained the mattress features that made me feel that way. Now that is why, I bought the mattress, that I did, from them. Think about it, a salesman who listens intently to you, and explains how your needs can be meant, and then graphically, shows you how your body's needs can be meant, and re-explains why the mattress features are related to what your needs are, is a good, interesting, and informative one. Also, he gave me a good price that fit into my budget AND he is going to deliver it, himself, on Tuesday Night! I will review the delivery and later, my review of the product!!!
