Wow, I never thought I would rate a mattress store 5 stars, yet here I am. My partner is tired of our bed, but we have very different opinions on beds. We went to Mattress Firm first, where they pushed the split king (so buying 2 twin beds of our preferences). We liked the idea. Hated a few other mattress stores. Went here as a last stop to just see what they had. We met Joshua, who was incredible. He explained that 2 separate twins would be the most expensive possible option and that he was sure he would find something for us to agree on. He was right. We tried out 5 beds alongside him and he asked us questions to narrow down our search and figure out what we were actually looking for. We fell in LOVE with the Avocado mattress. It was actually medium-soft, though my partner wanted a firm bed, but so supportive and comfy that he fell for it. It really was the best of all the things we wanted and easily our favorite. Joshua was super helpful in both his methodology and the info we got. He honored a sale for us, helped us pick out pillows, and gave us just the right amount of care without overwhelming us. We were back in to purchase the next day and are now awaiting delivery! Yay! These guys are the real deal. They are not owned by any big companies, so are able to speak candidly on brands and really hone in on what will work best, not meeting sales quotas. We felt like they were honest AND had the best selection. Looking back, this is the only mattress store where I really felt comfortable and like I was in good hands. read more

I will start with the ending of my experience at ESC Mattress Center. I bought a middle level, floor model, mattress. And now I will tell you why. My son and I spent about 3 interesting hours with a salesman, who is a part owner of the company. My son learned that about two years ago when he and his wife spent time in this store. When he knew that I needed a new mattress, he recommended this place because they had had an informative visit with one of the owners there. This man welcomed us when we arrived. He remembered my son's face, but not his name. Anyway, I told him what mattress I had, and why I wanted a new one, and what features were important to me. He listened intently and started having me try mattresses, and asked me questions about my experience laying down on each one. I tried 4 of them, and I liked them all, but the 5th one, when I laid down, felt like it was crafted especially for me. Joshua, the owner/salesman, re-explained the mattress features that made me feel that way. Now that is why, I bought the mattress, that I did, from them. Think about it, a salesman who listens intently to you, and explains how your needs can be meant, and then graphically, shows you how your body's needs can be meant, and re-explains why the mattress features are related to what your needs are, is a good, interesting, and informative one. Also, he gave me a good price that fit into my budget AND he is going to deliver it, himself, on Tuesday Night! I will review the delivery and later, my review of the product!!! read more

After some time he checked in and was very informative about all the mattresses and questions we had. He really helped us figure out a mattress that's best for my husband and I. Recently I had the misfortune of experiencing an apartment fire in my complex which resulted in three units being impacted, mine included. Quite a few items were damaged and that included my bed, so that meant the arduous task of bed hunting. I tried a few stores around the Everett area and started with some of the well known brand name places with no luck. Everything I found was basically the same thing - hard sales, average product and disinterested staff. That was when I found ESC. Upon entering ESC Mattress Center I was greeted by Joshua and told him what had happened, my issues and concerns. He was able to walk me through quite a few different models (explaining the different types of fillings, pros and cons, etc) and worked with my budget and a few unusual requirements (I needed a higher than standard frame and needed a firmer than normal mattress). Joshua was able to showcase the great selection available and we explored a few different options, and with his knowledge I was able to select the mattress I now have (spoiler alert). After finding the perfect mattress for me, he was able to walk me through the various options available including a selection of sheets and mattress protectors - which was great because he was able to point out some clauses in the warranty that I hadn't known about (ALWAYS get a mattress protector). He took me through the ins and outs of my mattress and its warranty and told me exactly what to expect once I had committed to the purchase. Leading up to the delivery date I was kept informed about the status of my mattress and was given a time that would work for my schedule. Then on the delivery day, Joshua and his team kept me in the loop about their ETA and then delivered exactly on time (which was also delivered four days ahead of schedule which I greatly appreciated). I was in the market for a new mattress and was just planning to go to the major chain store that is located on nearly every corner (at least it seems that way), but the day I planned to shop, I received a coupon in the mail from ESC. I figured why not since I'd rather support a local business anyways. We went to the store and Joshua helped us. We knew what we wanted for the most part, which made it easy, but he was very knowledgeable about the mattresses and had us try a few kinds to make sure we got what would work best for us. Once we found the one we wanted, we had to leave since we were on a time limit and came back the next day to purchase it. The day we went back to buy the mattress, we had found it on sale at another store and showed them the website. After verifying, they matched it with no issues. I highly recommend this store! They have just as many options as any other store without the high pressure sales tactics and they're super friendly people as well! So I went in wanting to see the Dreamcloud line. The owner immediately was bashing Dreamcloud and making me feel like I don't know what I needed. I had done a lot of research on my own but I was open to listening to him. His "bedside" manner was as if I was ignorant of beds. He ultimately was pushing me towards any other bed. I made a comment about not wanting memory foam as I've slept on it and he again treated me like I'm clueless. We left shortly thereafter. I personally will never go back. However, I gave it two stars versus zero because if you need that kind of attention and you truly don't know what you are looking for, he would be a great salesman. He needs to read the room. I also got the impression that just because I was looking at Dreamcloud means I don't have a big budget. I kinda wanted to be like Pretty Woman and go back in showing everything I bought to him and say "Big Mistake". Don't judge. read more

My husband and I bought our very first mattress back in the beginning of March from ESC and we absolutely love it! We had no idea what we were looking for or what we needed. I wanted something soft and squishy and my husband just wanted something comfortable. We told Joshua our sleeping habits and patterns and he helped us narrow our search down to a few mattresses. I did days of homework and researching before I went to ESC.....I wanted to know how to pick out the right mattress. I liked the idea ESC has stayed in business in the Everett area for almost 25 years....it means they are doing something right. That was important to me....trusting people who sold to me. Today William helped me and I can say that I could not be happier. No pressure, no slick sales pitches....and he knew what he was talking about. I wanted a chemical free mattress and found what I needed with a Green Harvest model. The trial period is very generous. Josh was very helpful in talking a new mattress but then he could leave us alone to sort out what we wanted . We thought that going to 3-4 stores on Ev Mall Way was necessary that day. But the way they explained and showed us options , the one year buy back they have now, the disposables you can use to lay on the mattresses, we liked what they have. No need to go to the other stores , by the time we did that we'd forget what bed we liked . As with everything these days the mattress took a couple weeks to show up. They delivered to our house , made it quick and simple , set it up for us , we've had 3 nights on our new mattress and are thrilled with our decision . Why buy a mattress anywhere else ??? My wife and I are one year either side of 80. Our experience's with mattresses/retailers has been disastrous the past five years. We dumped our 17 year old mattresses in 2016 for a pair of Tempurpedic's, master, and guest bedroom. On year 5 we said enough is enough! The two mattresses were stiff and unyielding, and the height was such that adding mattress pads would have meant adding steps to get into bed! I went on line and bought a highly recommended mattress for side sleepers from what looked like a legit website. In two months we knew we had made a big mistake. Wife is 100 lbs., I'm 150, and the bed was made for folks a whole lot heavier than we two. The thought of going on line, or mattress shopping in person, a third time had us shaking out heads, but it had to be done. Fortunately and by pure luck, we read a one page write-up in the Whidbey Times ( we live on Whidbey Island, WA ) from ESC, not touting their mattresses, but offering guidance regarding mattress reviewers. In substance, they said that despite the promise that they were independent, they were bought and paid for by the company's they reviewed. After our earlier experience, we agreed, we needed to meet these guys. On that note, we took a run over to Everett to check out ESC this February. I called before hand and asked Joshua if he would line up five mattresses, the first being like quicksand and ratcheting up to slightly above soft. He said come on over. We arrived ( great Covid safety ), however the mattresses were lined out not as I asked, but random to cover the range I had requested. I thought that to be a better idea than my request. We OK'd it, and began the 30 minute, per bed, check. After three hours, we kept coming back to the same bed, gave it 30 more minutes, and said "Lets do it". I won't go into pricing, but it was a POSH-LAVISH latex, and believe me, the two of us, gasped for a second, and then said again, lets do it. The deal was fair, the warranties excellent, and the delivery was done by Joshua and his partner two weeks later on a Sunday night. They took all the time we needed to understand the workings of the remotes ( we got the adjusting frame and the split V King. That's a mattress with a V, cut 3 feet long top center, so its one mattress and not two pushed together). Joshua also showed me how to make the bed with all the elastic straps needed for the separate tops. Its a feat I have now mastered. I write this 6 weeks after getting the bed because I wanted to make sure we did the right thing. And man- o- man did we. We don't squirm for comfort, we can turn side to side effortlessly, the latex is not sensitive to cold and harden up when we raise the windows at night. The feel is unlike any other mattress we have owned in 50 years of marriage....soft, not squishy, supportive in shoulder, hips and back, plenty of side support and no smell like other foam owners complain about. In summary, excellent inventory, solid owners, knowledgeable on product, no pushing to a product paying higher commissions, quick and clean delivery, and Joshua followed up a week later to check all was ok. In a really nasty business full of misleading reviews and pushy sales folk this was one sweet purchase. Five stars all the way. read more

My husband and I visited the ESC Mattress Center end of February 2020. We had gone to so many mattress firm locations in Tukwila & Seattle prior to visiting ESC. Everywhere we went the sales staff was constantly asking us questions & giving us stats on mattresses. We just needed some breathing room to really test them out on our own. ESC Mattress Center was the opposite. They were understanding of our needs and provided information when we asked for it. Best place to buy a Mattress! The owners were both extremely friendly, knowledgeable, patient and helpful. We scheduled an appointment to come in to practice social distancing. The store was very clean and well laid out. They had an excellent selection of mattresses, bed frames, sheets and pillows. They delivered and set up quickly and took our old bed off our hands. Husband and I have been looking for a mattress for a couple years. We have laid on plenty of floor models. Just never the right price for quality. We went in this store because of reviews. Guy was arrogant. My husband didn't like his approach right from start. I proceeded to look around. This sales guy told me because we didnt lay on any of his mattresses we were never going to find one. Basically because we have taken so long to find a mattress, we are doing it wrong. Completely arrogant approach. Never recommending this place to anyone. I dont care how much you know about a mattress, you don't know my body or how we sleep. End of story! read more

The store looks nice on the inside, but as soon as I walked in and started to have a conversation with the owner, he became defensive and rude. All I said was that I had noticed some negative reviews for this type of mattress, to which he looked at me like I was a complete moron and argued with me. I then asked if having a firm mattress will be more durable in the long term. My mistake, I will never ask such an off color question again because he then proceeded to make me feel even more like an idiot by telling me in a condescending tone that "firmness has literally nothing to do with longevity". I'm not sure what his deal is, but I will never go back, and instead bought a mattress from Mattress Depot. Far better customer service there. I would give 0 stars if possible. read more

Ok Wil and Bill and are top notch, these guys where the best at a competing company and decided to go on their own starting ESC; good for them, this is what makes America! I went in looking to purchase a new mattress, not knowing much about mattresses other than what I think is comfortable I was nervous to begin shopping . My experience was amazing at ESC Mattress, there was no feeling like someone was trying to " sell " me on something. I had the pleasure to work with Josh , he showed me multiple options for support and comfort . Once we found out what i needed he showed me varies options depending on my price point. He provided me with all the information to make a decision. He is very honest and knowledgeable throughout the process. Since I used to work at Sleep Country (before the buy outs), I'm fairly mattress savvy and dreaded the 'sales' experience, but needed a bed NOW for a caregiver situation. I contacted William's wife to see if he could help as I figured the store was still closed due to the pandemic. I knew he and a couple other co-workers had opened this new store to escape the 'sales' environment a couple years ago and he had always been very considerate and fair to his customers when we worked together. Will was able to handle fitting my specific need over the phone and still provide next day front door delivery! I'm VERY grateful with the quick service and attention to customer needs. These two brothers who own and work here were outstanding. I am a retired Air Force disabled veteran and Engineer supporting Boeing in the local area. They took great interest and care of me personally. Meeting and exceeding my immediate needs and not overselling me on the frills. They delivered in less than an hour too as I was just moving into the area that same day. I got a headboard and base for my bed which allowed me to have storage room underneath just as I requested.
