We are so grateful that we met Serge and had the ability/talent to bring that out of us into reality. Our story begins with me and my wife meeting at the gym in a cycle studio for the first time years ago. The gym is our most sacret place for both of us. So we agreed to discuss our ideas to Serge. His reaction became very possitive, motivating which gave us the confident that we needed. My wife is also a coffee lover and he suggested to take some pictures in a fancy coffee shot. It was hilarious and different but absolutely loved it!! We also both love nature and like to spend time outdoors. He took us to a magical place that is relaxing and unforgettable. We had a specific time of the day to perform our photo shoot, unfortunately, we were running late and my wife was very worried if we would have enough time to fit all our plans. At the same time Serge had other appointments after our photo shoot. He called to check on us to see if everything was as planned. We then explained the situation. Took it so calm and professionally that he understood what we were going through. This helped build back our confidence and encouraged us to continue as we talk about. Planning for a huge photshoot does take alot of time and energy to make it perfect. He explained that everything will be amazing but it wasn't amazing, it was EXTREMELY WONDERFUL AND BEYONG OUR EXPECTATIONS. We shared our ideas with him and later brought everything we mention to reality. It was all detailed to perfection and nothing was left out. He's skills were organized neatly that it was breathtaking. The experience we had was so much fun, exciting, and perfect that we can't stop talking about it and thanking Sokolov Photgraphy for everything they did for us. That's why we want to share this incredible experience with everyone. Once again, thank you Serge for the time and effort you put into our pictures. It means so much to us. And we love every single on of them. Rob & Cindy

Our daughter attends Bella Ballet and in preparation for their recital, we paid $100 in advance for 4 poses. We just received the photos and apparently, to actually receive digital copies of the photos, it is $100 per photo. That means, to get the full set of 6 photos, it is $600. That is exorbitant. This was also a tremendous waste of our time, dressing our daughter in the recital outfit, doing makeup, hair, etc. -- all for a single digital photo. (They do prints also, but you don't get the digital photo if you do the prints, and those also result in shipping charges.) Honestly, I view this as a type of scam. Again, if any part of this is incorrect, let me know and I will change my review, but it seems this $100/photo situation is actually the case.

It was a simple Brooklyn wedding and we didn't want to be tied down by a photographer getting shots of us the whole time and so we were 50/50 on getting a photographer. After meeting with him few months before the wedding, he put our worries at ease. Through the whole process leading up to the wedding day, he followed up to ensure that he had all the information he needed for our event and our timeline. The day of the event, Konrad was phenomenal! He did more than what a bride would hope from a photographer! He took the photos he needed without being intrusive, sorta like a fly on the wall as he called it, kept us on time and on schedule without putting unnecessary pressure, and kept my family and the bridal party entertained through the whole process. When it came time to take the group pics I have requested, he was concise and executed the line up as I instructed. My groom, I, all my family and guests really loved him and enjoyed his company and jokes during our wedding. I would highly recommend Konrad! He is professional, talented and a real class act. He came on time to our meeting and to our wedding event, followed directions very well, and delivered our photos very fast. He took great pics and even more amazing candid shots during our wedding that really captured all the feels and how much fun everyone was having on our very special day. Thank you so much Konrad!!

Konrad is super professional, fun, easy to work with, organized, flexible, and most of all, TALENTED! I knew from the start I had chosen the right photographer because of his attention to detail in planning and making sure every aspect of the day was accounted for. He was always available to discuss changes in plans and throw around ideas. My girlfriend (now fiancée!) only met him on the day of and in a short amount of time was able to see just how awesome he is. Add all of that to the pictures he took - we were just blown away. Every friend and family member has commented on how amazing our pictures look - that we look like we're in a movie. All because of Konrad's genius and creativity! He directed us on what to do and made us feel so comfortable, and as other reviews mentioned, made everything feel so natural and fun. He was so pleasant working with our families once they surprised my girlfriend, and knew exactly how to take cues from what was going on and what they wanted in the moment. He is just absolutely everything you want in a photographer; hiring him is one of the best decisions you will make for your big event.

We decided to go to Steven Wu after checking out his yelp reviews and made a few inquiries through…read moreemails and phone calls, and we are very happy with the experience. Over the phone, steven took time to get to know you and your story, try to get a sense of what kinda pictures/portrait you are looking for and record your story through the lens. We did both city hall wedding and a private 2 hours outdoor shooting on Long island. As always, he arrived early ( earlier than us). City Hall Wedding For most couples, it's prob. their first time, so having a wedding photographer who is patient and experienced with the process definitely ease a lot of the stress. I remember Steven kinda walk me through the process over the phone before the court wedding date, giving your tips that actually helped a lot. The actually "ceremony" is quick, but sometimes the wait can be a little long, he really takes time to capture each moment for you along each step of the process. Outdoor Shooting I told Steven that I love nature, and I like artsy/cool pictures. Steven suggested morning/evening time where the light has a lot of variety. For me, he is sort of an impressionist, trying to capture beauty throughout the changing light. He is creative, and also open for suggestions. We loved our pictures. Notes: Pictures in this review were downsized, and I changed a little contrasts and light (so you can't see our faces). Ask Steven for some portfolio work, which you can get a better sense of his styles (and maybe some pose ideas).

It was my S.O.'s first trip and my millionth time to NYC. Our family had already decided that we were getting engaged and having our engagement party this upcoming November. I wanted to make this trip memorable, as it was his first trip, so we decided to do our engagement photos in NYC! I researched photographers almost everyday for a month when I stumbled upon Steven and his amazing reviews! We don't regret hiring Steven! He was absolutely amazing! We had been together for 6 years and we never did any type of photo shoot together. Our shoot was on a Friday morning in Grand Central Station and then in Central Park. Imagine a typical Friday morning at Grand Central. It is very, very, very busy and packed. We met up with Steven there and he asked us to go stand in the middle, of what seemed like thousands of people, and go pose. Needless to say, we felt SO awkward doing that. The second Steven started talking to us, we got so comfortable. The whole time we were with Steven, we only noticed him and each other. He made us totally forget how nervous we were and made us forget about the hundreds of people walking by and staring at us. I recall him saying he was in technology or something before he started doing photography but I swear, he must have some training in psychology because he like hypnotized us into feeling so calm and comfortable. Once he started clicking, we were so calm and at peace. We just focused on each other and the hilarious conversations we were having with Steven. Gosh, he kept us so entertained & happy! He truly is such an amazing man!!! I researched photographers for a whole month and am so glad I found Steven! I couldn't imagine a better photographer. And as far as the pictures go, they turned out AMAZING!!! For our first ever photo shoot, they were the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen! NY has such a special place in my heart and I'm so pleased that Steven was the one who captured my S.O. and I's first trip there! I would very highly recommend Steven to anyone who is looking to engagement pictures, family photos, party or wedding photography, anything and everything! You will not regret hiring him!

If I were only reviewing Focus Fine and Parmiss as a photographer, I would give her four out of…read morefive stars. Overall, we were happy with our wedding photographs, and she is a talented photographer. However, if you go with Parmiss as a photographer, I would first thoroughly scout your wedding venue and other wedding photos from the venue so you can tell her exactly where you would like photographs taken. Because Parmiss had such an eye for the scenery during our engagement shoot, I trusted her vision more than I should have on the big day. All of our family and husband and wife portraits are only in two locations, one of which was rather dull given the beauty and vastness of the venue. I would have liked to have had different backgrounds and to have had some photos outside the venue in the evening when it was dark and lit up. I was too busy to realize all of this during the reception, and I wish that I had better prepared, or that the photographer had directed us to other locations throughout the night. Still, we are happy with our photographs. I strongly recommend that you steer clear of any videography from this vendor. We based our decision to purchase their video services off of the two examples posted on Parmiss's website, but there is no way we had the same videographer based on the extremely poor quality of our footage. Please don't be deceived like we were by those sample videos. First, we were married in May of 2016, and the video did not arrive until October of 2016 because the videographer was on a three-week vacation?!? At that time, my husband was retiring from the military after 22 years of service, we were grieving the loss of a loved one, and we were moving into our first house. We did not have time to watch the video until things finally settled down in early spring. There were SEVERAL issues with the video. Among other things, it looked like a cheap camcorder video from the 80's with shaky footage and poor sound. Parts of the ceremony and reception were out of order, and significant parts of the ceremony, for example, half of my bridesmaids walking down the aisle, was not included. When we expressed our concerns to Parmiss, she said the videographer did not save the footage, so he could only work to revise what we already had, meaning there is no existing footage of those missing bridesmaids. What kind of an artist doesn't save their work?!? Secondly, we did not receive the 20-minute highlights DVD that we were promised in the contract. A few months later, at our request, a new "documentary DVD" was sent in the form of both a DVD and a Blue-Ray. Additionally, we received an 8-minuted, not a 20-minute, highlights DVD and Blue-Ray. ALL of these discs were placed in ONE DVD case. The quality of the video was still beyond poor. My high school students have put together videos for class with their iPhones that are comparable to the quality we received from a professional vendor for $1800. Some of our friends took mini-videos using their phones, which are far better than what we paid this vendor. My mother, who paid for the work, was the most vocal in trying to have this corrected. She saw this as a gift to my husband and me, and she wanted us to treasure and watch it for years to come. She was very disappointed in how this gift turned out, but was hopeful the errors could be corrected. When we reached out to Parmiss for a second time about the quality of the videography and the missing 20-minute highlights, we were given a string of excuses, one of which accused us of purchasing the least expensive and least inclusive package. However, we were never given an option. We chose what was offered. All we modified was that we had five hours coverage instead of six, changing the price from $2000 to 1800. We still paid $1800 for a low-grade product. When we complained about still not having the 20-minutes of highlights as promised in the contract, we were told that it is far more difficult to make an 8-minute highlight video, and that they thought we would be more "impressed" with 12-minutes less of what we had paid for?!? Over a month later, we finally received another revision. This time, we finally got the 20-minute highlight DVD. It came in late September of 2017, one year and four months after our wedding. I wish I could say it was worth the wait. Given that the videographer apparently tossed all the footage, it was just another poor rendition of the lackluster original we had received a year ago. The old errors and poor quality remain while new ones were also included. At this point, my husband and I plan to enjoy the videos our friends took, but we are saddened that my parents paid so much to receive so little. Instead of offering a refund, we were only given poor revisionary attempts, apologies, and excuses.I understand that Parmiss is the photographer and not the videographer. However, her name is attached to both, and she should take just as much pride in the videography.
