Their website asked us to pay fully in advance(!!) and sent a confirmation email for the payment and date of the event. Their photographer didn't show up at our event and they never called us back although we left them voicemail that we and our guests were waiting for the photographer. This is a very very bad look for MacroHype Photography, as every guest shockingly asked us the name of this company. We reversed our credit card payment easily but we also will review them on every single possible website and social media to let people know they need to avoid hiring this photographer(s) or have a back up photographer in case they don't show up. This woman showed up in a t-shirt style jumper and sneakers to start. Comfort and mobility are important working, but so is blending in with a formal environment of a wedding. She was frazzled and didn't provide any direction and didn't have a plan, even though she was supposedly familiar with the venue and should know what photos she planned on taking. While, we, the bridal party was getting hair and makeup done for the wedding, she was snapping stills of the brides accessories for close to an hour. Where did she take these photos of the accessories? On the floor in the bathroom. This caused her to break my 1890s diamond and pearl pendant that I was loaning the bride into multiple pieces. I have no idea if she stepped on it or knelt on it moving crap around, but when confronted she insisted it was in pieces when she was taking photos already. It wasn't, I had check it that morning before she touched it and the chain was found on the floor in the bathroom. The rare, baroque nature pearl was never found. I had no recourse because she deleted any photos that would have shown the whole necklace. She didn't even try to find the missing pieces or apologize. When she did finally get around to taking photos of the bridal party, well behind schedule, there were zero instructions. No one knew what photos were being taken, no one knew where to go for the photos. The bride had a surprise for the groom that she knew about, but was no where to be found when it showed up. She kept directing us to walk through the grass in heels and then would change her mind once we got there so we had to keep going back and forth in muddy grass getting our dresses and shoes dirty. She didn't do any photography basics of staging and posing the bridal party, flooding the dress or giving any direction on how to stand, turn and face her for good photos. There is some actual skill in taking a good photo, not just relying on photoshop to do it all for you. It is also not the bridal parties responsibility to set up the photo. I have never had to do so much work being the subject of the photo. The other wedding aids who have worked with her in the past confirmed that she is always behind schedule and less than professional. During the reception she was in the way of everyone dancing trying to get photos. Wedding guests were having to constantly move around her. Even without her destroying an heirloom necklace, she is not someone I would ever hire. I will say the bride and groom turned out beautiful, they are beautiful people and it's not hard to capture that. Following this review, they were contacted and begging to have it removed, so I did edited it. Once again they failed to take accountability for their mistakes and use a negative review to do better. Everyone deserves a chance to improve, but if they aren't willing to listen to criticism they never will. I wait to give reviews until I am no longer livid with the experience and can give a fair and accurate review. You don't have to be a paying customer to have a horrible experience with a business. Do better.

The photographers were punctual, professional, easy to work with, encouraging, and fun! They've definitely got their wedding day photography down to a science. We never felt rushed, and Rita listened to everything we asked for, and her expertise definitely came in handy when directing us. We also asked for pictures with our hockey teams, and I was personally getting frustrated at trying to get 20 men to look at the camera, Rita stayed calm, never lost her patience, and was able to get off the shots we wanted. When we received or pictures back, we were happy to see that her editing was consistent with pictures in her portfolio, and perfectly captured moments and feeling of our day. Anna was a delight to work with and made it very easy to schedule our newborn photo shoot, which…read morecan be challenging given that nobody really knows when baby will come and most say photos are best before baby hits 10 days old--at which time they can be more fussy and less sleepy. :) Scheduling and filling out the release and contract was easy--I was able to sign everything on my phone in advance--very convenient when you are recovering and don't want to get on a computer. When we arrived, Anna was all set up, the space was warmed, outfits we discussed and props were ready to go, and she met us with hand sanitizer and was double masked. Anna asked that we wait to feed baby until we arrived so we would have a big sleepy window. We did and she was patient for this, and the needed diaper change! We also learned that she is a doula and extremely experienced with babies in all aspects of her life. Once baby drifted to sleep, Anna began getting her changed and into different scenes quickly. We had only planned for 1-2 hours (to get baby home and back in bed--but I was also still tired and recovering) and in just shy of two hours we did seven different outfits/backgrounds. Overall, this was an excellent experience and we were also allowed to take photos while she took some--which I appreciated because I could give family a preview...and I can't stop swiping through them! Unfortunately, my husband and I are very disappointed with a quality of their job. We paid for 5 hours of their work: ceremony at the church, and reception afterwards. The pictures from the church turned out to be okay - there are nice pictures of two of us and a pastor during the ceremony, however there is no good group pictures with families and friends after the ceremony. When we were posing together with families, photographers did not make any comments regarding the postures and how everyone looked - we ended to have zero photos were all people are (at least) looking in one camera. We thought that if they don't make any comments, then everything looks good. However it turned out to be the opposite.. We'd think that professional photographers would want to take the best shot they could, but unfortunately, not in this case. The reception was in beautiful barn at Clyde's Willow Creek in Ashburn. The lighting in the barn is intimate and warm, also there was a fire place. Absolutely ALL pictures from the reception are low quality, grainy, and out of focus. We were posing in front of the fire place with the guests who wanted pictures with the couple, and were planning on printing out these pictures and sending them along with the 'thank you' cards. However, the quality of these pictures ruined our plans. We had only 35 guests on our wedding, everyone who was there is valuable and important person to us. As any couple at their wedding day we wanted to capture the priceless moments in pictures and share them with our friends and family. However, the poor job of photographers ruined this. Instead of apologizing and trying to resolve this situation the photographers said that the lighting on the reception was dull and tried to blame our guests that they were complaining about the flash that photographers used (they had only one small flash with them). Also, they were taking video and made a short (2-minutes) one for us as a present and tried to sell us longer video for $900. We did not hire them to take videos, and it seems that they put more efforts in taking the video than the pictures and now trying to upsell us the long video to get more profit (on top of the price that we paid for 5 hours of their work). The topping in this situation is that after I tried to talk to Anna and send her texts I was blocked without any response. When my husband and I called her from a different number she replied but then hung up on us while we were still talking. This disrespectful and rude behavior shocked us! I never leave bad reviews, but in this situation I do not have another choice. We paid 100% upfront, were easy to work with, and got bad pictures and unacceptable customer service as a result. Please don't work with this photographer if you don't want low-quality event pictures, poor customer service, and if you don't like to be treated in absolutely disgraceful, disrespectful manner.

So much so that I have four of his black and whites up in my dining room. The first thing people notice when entering that room are the photographs. The first time I saw his work was at McLean Animal Hospital. He used to be a photographer with UPI and began working for himself. There were some postcards about the artist in the waiting room so I took one and got in touch. At the time I had a specialty retail store and I called to let him know he's welcome to display his work there. It added so much to the decor and feel of the place. He certainly wasn't the cheapest but he had the most impressive body of work. We hired him for our quinceanera, and did he deliver. My daughter unfortunately takes after her mother-inlaw. She will hopefully have a successful career in radio. However Matt turned her into a cinderella and we couldn't be any happier with the photographs. Mucho Gracias hombre and stay thirsty!
