My (now) wife and I met these two through a good friend, and we could not have gotten luckier. We knew upon meeting them, and after seeing their portfolio, that they would take incredible wedding shots, so we decided to go ahead and contract them. As an incentive with their package, they offered us an engagement session.
While taking photos, they operated on what I would call a "laissez-faire" philosophy -- by having minimal involvement with the action in the photographs, and hence capturing a truer essence. At first, this was sort of unusual for my wife and I -- the expected thing is to pose for photographs explicitly, right? -- but after getting more comfortable it became a lot of fun, and the images turned out stunningly. They occasionally asked us to do various things, mostly fun, and only on suggestion, never as direct orders, so to speak. This left a lot of room to get those moments in between. Perhaps the most effective and unique aspect of their style is the fact that they both take photographs at the same time, only relying on their individual photographic senses, capturing two disctinct views of the same scenes. They seem to also have an uncanny ability to bring out the best emotions the images have to offer, in such an artistic and simple way.
As people, they are wonderful to work with. Very warm and friendly, they felt like good friends of ours almost immediately. The business aspect is important to them, and they are professionals when it comes to getting people to comply ("okay now we need just the bride's family," etc.) As far as getting photos back to us, they have been prompt and they have been good about maintaining communication with us. Above all else, they seem to love what they are doing, and that puts them a large step above many others.
The wedding photos turned out perfectly, and we couldn't be happier. I will certainly recommend them to anyone who is in need of photographic services. read more
