Scheduling the appointment was easy -- I was able to get in within a week of calling. When we arrived, this pair was welcoming and friendly and put us all at ease. Marge was wonderful with our little girl and has a great eye with posing us and our little one. The photos!!! I was truly amazed at the photos. It was so hard to choose which ones to order. The pictures were ready withing 3 business days. All the images were put on a website where I could review and compare as well as order prints. We were also able to send the website to our family members so they could see too! Costs: I think they were very reasonable -- the cost of the shoot was just about $50 for a 1.5 or 2 hour shoot. The pictures themselves are what costs the money especially since we were buying for ourselves and our parents. However, they do offer you the ability to buy the image digital so you can produce as many as you want. I will be using this team for other milestone shots! As an aside - I also just learned that another one of our friends just used them for their wedding back in August 2008 and loved them as well!

That delay gave us a chance to get to know Ted Showker, the owner, and appreciate how he really cares about his clients and will do whatever he can in support of a successful event. When the day *finally* arrived Ted showed up, set up, kept his part running effortlessly (for us) and perfectly (for everyone). Any event with more than a few people might run into issues and I'm happy to report that NONE of the few issues we encountered had anything to do with Sillyshotz. Ted made sure our guests got the most out of the booth and we heard back from many of our friends that they really enjoyed working with him to create lots of memorable pictures. The attendant was pleasant and we got their card for our upcoming wedding. I worked with Ted on scheduling and putting in a place a contract. He was accommodating with our questions and requests. I felt no pressure to rush and he laid out clearly our options. With the pandemic, we've had to reschedule and now cancel the wedding. How do you reschedule when there's no end in sight? We were happy to forego our deposit but Ted was understanding and offered to have the deposit still be usable through 2022 or gifted. This is a stark contrast from our wedding venue, with whom we are fighting tooth and nail to get our money back. I purchased a LivingSocial for a photo session before my daughter was born to do photos. We emailed a few times and set up a date, 3 weeks after she was born and he picked the location, citing that he had been there before and it was really pretty. He confirmed the Glenview Mansion in Rockville as the location, 2 pm time and even said all we had to bring were big smiles. Our shoot was 10 days later on July 20. We get there and he is late...I see another family there and wonder if that may be him because no one else is at the location. I can't reach him via phone and email him at 3:04 pm asking where he is as we have arrived. Eventually he shows up and greets the other family. We go up and introduce ourselves, ready for our session as well. Peter stares at me, blankly, then back at the other family. I remind him that he picked this location, date and time, I show him the emails and the only paltry excuse he could come up with is "..I guess I double-booked". Ok...well, what do you think his corrective steps were or even his logic for next steps? He decides to go with the other family because they paid full-price. I asked if he could maybe alternate...shooting them and then shooting us...I asked if he could at least get a few shots of just my newborn...(mind you she is three weeks old and it is outdoors in July so it was so hot) a refund, opportunity to shoot some other time...anything to demonstrate that he messed up and wanted to correct it. This man didn't do a single thing. I get it, the people who paid more are worth more to you but if you aren't organized enough to manage your bookings, don't use outside services to book them like LivingSocial! I still see him pop up here and there on the coupon websites and I am disgusted. He walked away from us, leaving us with a "go f-ck yourself because not my problem" attitude and made no attempt to rectify it. He sent me an email afterwards where he offered up this explanation: "I can't offer anything but my deepest apologies this does not happen often but yes it happens. We only double booked twice from 507 vouchers redeemed and I know it's not an excuse. Somewhere along the way the communication got lost. I also apologize for being to firm and couldn't take you on. They just weren't like the other wedding photographers out there! Eric the owner from Modern Frames (such a cool guy) was so easy to work with! Unfortunately, he wasn't available for our wedding date but had a colleague he strongly recommended. We trusted him to set us up with Alex. Even though Alex would be shooting our wedding, Eric would still do the editing portion. So we agreed! We set up a few meetings with both Eric and Alex, and both are such laid back, chill and easy to work with guys. We immediately felt comfortable with them. The wedding day was great. It ended up being extra hot, humid and darker than the usual Spring day we've had in DC. But Alex made it work. He also kept a lot of us calm and comfortable during all the shoots. Alex stayed almost the entire day, even though the agreement was that he could leave earlier. But you could tell he really wanted to capture everything perfectly. All the wedding guests loved him as well! In the end, the photos came out great. BOTH Eric and Alex are very creative and truly skilled artists! Let me tell you, hiring them was one of the best decisions we made, and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Communication/Responsiveness: Eric wrote back to our initial email *ten minutes* after we sent it (!), confirming he and Alisa were free on our date and suggesting we schedule a Skype meeting. They were super responsive to all of our questions and concerns. They got our engagement photos back to us in less than 2 weeks, and our wedding photos in 3 weeks. Personality: Eric and Alisa are really nice people and a ton of fun to be around! They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and they were down for all of my crazy requests (like a giant group shot with every guest at the wedding). The Photos: SO GOOD. We wanted pictures that would capture the feel of the day, rather than looking like a magazine shoot, and that's exactly what we got. My aunt and uncle dancing, grinning ear to ear. My friend's two-year-old stealing the show in his tiny bow tie and suspenders. Us attempting to cut the cake and getting the knife stuck. All of the people we love in one place, smiling, dancing, talking, and having a great time - they captured it perfectly.
