Where do I begin? Made an appointment with him on a Sunday for the Wednesday several days later,…read moreand he texted me that same day (on a Sunday!) to get more detail to best prepare for more appointment. He called when I was free, and in chatting with me he realized that it had been a rough road for me over the last couple of months and was eager to help. He suggested that I actually come into his office the next day instead(!). Fast forward to appt time, he took my lengthy history of sinus issues, persistent coughing, constant congestion, the works. You could almost see the wheels turn as he tried to put the puzzle pieces together to proactively help me with all of my symptoms that I was experience and figure out the best solution to alleviate them for me. He spent 70 minutes with me, listening, talking, allergy testing, asthma testing to get to the bottom of it. In this day and age when doctors cutting appointments short is rampant, it was so refreshing to be heard and to feel like I had an expert in my corner who wanted to help me feel better as much as I did.

I inquired to FAI about their cost and insurance and I was still kinda 50/50 about it because what if it doesn't work for him then I just waisted a lot of $$$$ or what if after so many years of remission, his allergies comes back? I had a lot of "what if's", I joined a Facebook group and read a lot of families' posts with their own experiences with FAI and this is what gave me confidence about this company. My son is the only one in our family who has allergies and we want him to have food freedom and not to always look on food labels or ask the food ingredients whenever he eats out. Today was our first visit at FAI's Vista, CA location. It was easy to find. The front desk gave me a nice first impression, same thing with the nurses. However, for some reason, I don't remember seeing a badge on any of them. If families are paying $$$$$ don't you think they should invest on proper employee identification cards? or if they do have them, then they need to wear them where patients/parents can easily see them. Anyways, what I like about them so far is, they do their best to make children comfortable with skin prick, and blood draws. They did all allergens all at once and not one at a time (it was thoughtful), and during the blood draw, they used this vibrating arm band to distract kids and not obsess on the needle. People seem nice with all their smiling faces and welcoming attitude and I hope that doesn't change during our journey. I am aware that this is not for the faint of heart (with all the things/schedule we strictly need to follow) but again we're doing this for my child's food freedom.
