The instructions were to show up only five minutes prior to your appointment time, which I did. The rest of my journey was a curated and fine-tuned path from start to finish that didn't waste a single moment. - A security guard will give you a preliminary screening at the door and point you in the right direction. - For Covid-19 vaccines I was instructed to speak to a woman in a sweater, who was clearly identified about 50 feet ahead of me. - The woman in the sweater asked if I had checked in already (I did as it was suggested on my app) and then directed me to the reception desk. - The reception desk verified my information including appointment time and instructed me to follow the big white arrow. - After following the first white arrow I was greeted by another employee, a nice young man who once again confirmed I was receiving a vaccine and asked me to continue following the white arrows along the route until I reached the final blue line - spacers for social distancing. - Once at the final blue line I waited for about fifteen seconds before being invited into an exam room turned vaccination room. - My info was verified again and I had a shot of Moderna in the arm about a minute later. Armed with an information packet I was done with the shot... I'm now one step closer to a more worry-free life. - Once done with the shot I walked out a doorway to be greeted by the nice young man again who asked me to keep track of my own time, sit down, and make my next appointment on the app. - My fifteen minutes came and went, my next appointment was scheduled, and the chair I was sitting in was quickly wiped down upon my exit. Total time spent in the building including my fifteen minutes post vaccine shot? About 19 minutes... that's efficiency.

And when Dr Raya came in, she took the time to talk to me. Since this is my first visit with her. She explained every step what is she about to do. I haven't had any one do that in such a long time! The quality care is beyond excellent on what I usually get. It's amazing how I was treated before and how I'm being treated now. Even the front office ladies are alert and ready and with a welcoming smile. I'm so happy we switched to Scripps Medical Center!! They actually care about you!!

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing and Heartless Experience…read more My 90-year-old wheelchair-bound mother, my husband, and I have all been patients of Perlman Clinic. After what happened today, all three of us will be leaving the practice. I had an 11:00 AM appointment for my mother, but the office called and changed it to 10:40 AM, insisting she needed a 40-minute appointment. I explained that we did not need 40 minutes, but they insisted. Getting my 90-year-old mother out of the house is extremely difficult. I drove 30 minutes to pick her up, helped get her into the car, and then drove another 25 minutes to the clinic. Knowing I would be late, I called the office ahead of time to let them know. I arrived approximately 15 minutes late. My mother was still sitting in the car while I went inside to get help transferring her into a wheelchair. I explained the situation, that she was in pain and needed to see a doctor, and pleaded with them to please see her. They refused. What was most upsetting was the complete lack of compassion toward a 90-year-old, wheelchair-bound patient. The staff's response felt cold, dismissive, and aggressive. There was no attempt to accommodate the situation or show understanding of what it took to get my elderly mother to that appointment. My mother had been a patient of the medical practice Perlman took over for approximately 50 years. After decades as a patient, this is how she was treated. This is also not my first frustrating experience. I have personally waited 20-30 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time at this practice, yet there was no flexibility when an elderly patient arrived 15 minutes late after her appointment had been changed by the office. I have also been disappointed by what I perceive as a lack of continuity and experience among some of the providers I've encountered, as well as frequent referrals to outside specialists rather than having concerns addressed directly. The front-office experience has been particularly disappointing. I have witnessed behavior that I consider unprofessional, including staff chatting about personal matters in the waiting area. Two employees, Gavin and Cezon, were particularly rude and aggressive during today's interaction. Healthcare should involve more than policies and appointment times. It should involve compassion, especially when dealing with elderly and vulnerable patients. Perlman Clinic failed my mother today. After this experience, I no longer have confidence in this practice. All three of us will be finding healthcare elsewhere.

I don't know what it is about Kaiser but good luck trying to get any pain meds, anti inflammatories OR anxiety meds out of this company. I asked my doc for some Xanax which I only take for emergencies and he gave me 3 pills of Aadvin instead and never would refill my script. To me, this is absolutely ridiculous, I am not some junkie, I'm a 50 year old man who suffers with this crap. I quit that doctor as I didn't like his bed side manner anyway and choose another doc. "Never got the anxiety meds I needed, but thank GOD for street pharmacists. Fast forward to a new doc. I went in for a severe neck pain, once again, 0 help from the docs for any pain medication. They have me taking OTC stuff that's not really helping. "Again, thank God for my street pharmacists". The thing that sucks is, I pay 1000's of dollars for insurance and still can't get the meds I need. I miss my old private doc practice, where I could tell my doc what works for me and he would prescribe it it he agreed, not this Red tape corporate BS where you pay premiums and get the crap you need. I can't wait for my company to switch insurances again.

They told me they closed at 9pm, no mention "be here by 8:30pm". I told her SEVERAL times that MediCal has nothing to do with the McHardy insurance as this was an insurance company provided to a full time employee of another local hospital. She finally stopped mentioning MediCal. Arrived at 8:27pm, parked the car at 8:29pm, walked in at 8:30pm, the receptionist (again, I think her name was Kenya), started talking to my wife (who had a very painful ear infection) at 8:32 where she told us "we aren't taking any patients after 8:30pm, you are welcome to stop by tomorrow at 9am"!!! I begged her to reconsider since there is no mention anywhere about this policy plus it was...8:32! You should have seen the cold face, the lack of caring, the lack of compassion for our situation, treated you like a piece of meat, not like a human being in need.... What a terrible operation. See attached pics of the lack of mentioning anywhere if this policy plus the cold-hearted answer of the business owner to another reviewer who encountered the same situation as we did, along with many others who found out THE HARD WAY, how cold hearted this place is. My 74-year-old mother recently moved from Canada to San Diego, and we have been rebuilding her medical care here from scratch. English is not her first language, and I routinely accompany her to appointments to make sure she understands her medical care and can communicate her concerns properly. We have seen Dr. Clancy multiple times, so this review is not based on one unpleasant encounter. Unfortunately, we have repeatedly experienced the same dismissive and unwelcoming behavior. Our appointments have felt extremely rushed, often lasting only approximately 5-10 minutes. When we ask questions, we have experienced sighing, visible frustration, eye-rolling, and responses that made both my mother and me feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than patients seeking medical care. Today's appointment crossed a line for me. My mother was trying her best to explain an issue concerning her daily blood-pressure medication. During the conversation, Dr. Clancy rolled his eyes, removed his glasses, looked directly at me and, referring to my mother's English, said words to the effect of: "When she speaks English, it makes me frustrated and I don't understand." I found this extraordinarily disrespectful and humiliating. A 74-year-old woman struggling to communicate in her second language should never be made to feel embarrassed for trying to explain a medical concern to her physician. There are professional and compassionate ways to handle a language barrier. Showing visible irritation toward an elderly patient is not one of them. What makes this more concerning is that today's experience was not isolated. We have left previous appointments feeling rushed, uncomfortable and unwelcome as well. Today simply reached the point where I could no longer remain silent. We will be finding my mother another primary-care physician. I also intend to formally report our experience through the appropriate channels because I believe elderly patients, immigrants, and people with limited English proficiency should be able to seek medical care without being made to feel ashamed or burdensome. I strongly encourage families, especially those caring for an elderly parent who may need additional patience or help communicating to consider our experience when deciding whether this practice is the right fit for them. Respect and compassion should be the absolute minimum a patient receives in a doctor's office.

There's plenty of parking and an additional parking structure. They also have a very nice Urgent Care unit with a very nice triage team. The front desk is generally very attentive, helpful, and respectful. It's also nice that many specialty options are available if you need a specific care team. They offer full lab work and imaging.

My husband told me I got a letter in the mail stating that I was writing messages in my portal to my Drs. I thought the portal was used as a extra tool for Scripps when you do not go to appointments for your health and concerns. They threatened me that they would kick me out of Jefferson if i wrote anymore messages. Don't I have any patient's right for my healthcare to use the portal for questions and concerns when appointments are over two to three months in the future? I felt threatened and abandoned especially that I was recently discharged from the ER and needed some answers from lab work which I feel was not given by the ER Dr. On top of that I got a letter in my portal about missing and no show appts which I go all the time because I have other people drive me there so why is there such a mess when I feel I am threatened? Does anyone else have this experience with Scripps at this time with communication on portal, mail and no one replying to their messages on portal? Has anyne else been threatened to be kicked out even if they go to all drs appts on time and ask qs about their health???? Isn't that what Drs and nps are there for to help you and take care of your concerns in a professional manner???!
