I've been going to Model Cuts for 20-years at the Reseda location. Today I went to their Studio City location, to meet with Vicky and Nicole. Turning 60 I wanted to dye my hair with the hair cut. After the cut, was the simple dye, but then I decided while sitting there that I wanted a different style shorter younger style. Vicky was super happy to switch it up and took an extra 30 minutes to make it perfect. Love Model Cuts. read more

I loved it so much , great place with good prices . Loved the work !! Definitely staying here. Nicole did an amazing job

Go see Veronica! She rocks and is polite, knowledgable, friendly and very accommodating with schedules. And, let's face, she can cut hair...at least my hair! I like that I can text her vs. calling. I have been going to this gem of a find for two or three years now love the quality, value and convenience of being five minutes away from my house. For $10 men's haircut, bring cash and tip big...come on - it's a $10 haircut so don't come in being all fancy and picky etc...this isn't Beverly Hills with BH pricing. Love you Miss V! read more

I needed a color correction and a small trim, Nicole was able to do just that and much more!! She exceeded my expectations & made me feel comfortable. She often reassured me of the work she was going to do before she did it. She gave me a subtle ashy brown and a haircut with face frame layers! My hair looks so healthy and voluminous! Make an appointment and ask for Nicole! read more

Used to come here 7-8 years ago and it was okay. Came on a Tuesday at 9:40AM and signs were on and said open, but door was locked and no one there. #Fail read more

I've been going to model cuts for a while in Reseda. I have recently move to the studio city and they told me about this salon. I had high expectations already from the Reseda model cuts and now this salon is just as good if not better! With covid going on they focus on safety and cleanliness! That doesn't stop them though from giving an amazing hair cut at a great price! I highly recommend them especially if money is tight durning this unfortunate time. They are my new go to! read more

Great hair stylists. Great environment. Great price. Definitely will come back. Meter parking only. So if you can get dropped off.

I love Modelcuts! I've been going to Modelcuts since I moved to Studio City and I think everyone there is fantastic. To those people who are upset that their favorite person left and are leaving bad reviews - have a little class and some human decency! Modelcuts is a great value and the people are very nice. read more

I just went to see Cecilia today. She is doing great and her new salon is very nice. She sends a big "Hello!" to everyone who's looking for her. Please do come and see her at her new place. Rainbow Beauty Salon 11405 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA (818) 508-9099 read more

Nicole is fantastic with color and specifically blonde. So glad I found this awesome salon. Recommending this place to all my family and friends. And not to mention how nice everyone is there! Thank you so much! read more

Got a decent trim from Mayra, but it was pricy for what it was. She wasn't very personable either, which made my experience more on the 'meh' side. 4 stars because they seem to specialize in men's hair and my boyfriend can get a solid haircut while rolling on a budget :P Overall, good for dudes. Ladies... I would go somewhere else. read more

This place is a gem. I've been coming here for almost a year now. I have a short pixie cut so I need to get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks. I love my hairstylist at Modem salon, but 85 bucks every month is more than I'm willing to spend on just a trim. So far, I had my hair cut by Gloria, Susana, another lady next to Gloria, and the guy with the big arms and tattoos (I couldn't believe how neat and carefully he cut my hair, my whole head was the size of his one hand!) Lately, i've been having my friend cut my hair as he goes through hair school. It was really uneven and choppy, but Susana fixed it in less than 10 minutes! I definitely recommend coming here. They might not give you an organic, free range, french pressed coffee, or a fizzy water, but they'll give you a great cut that will look more expensive than it actually is read more

i love it here! nicole is so sweet and she does exactly what i want everytime i come, she's the best. everyone there is super nice and friendly, I definitely recommend!! read more

Mayra was excellent! I walked right in (in a major hurry and after visiting two other close-by joints). Not only was the cut super affordable (finally).... she did an excellent job! She gave me EXACTLY what I needed. In/out $10. (Dont' hate me cause I'm beautiful. Maybe I was born with it... kidding kidding) Boom! Recommended! And oh yeah, be sure to tip nicely, she's worth it and it still won't empty your wallet! read more

This place has been here for a million years. A Studio City landmark. Great talented staff. Can't beat the $10 price for men's haircut. read more

Happened across this establishment while walking to Supercuts, actually. The "$10 haircuts for men" sign out front caught my eye --- great deal, but would it be a "get what you pay for" situation? Looked them up on Yelp and they averaged a 4.5/5-star rating. Not what I expected! And the reviews backed up the ratings, so I decided to try it out ... and I'm glad I did. Was taken care of by the very-friendly Frances, who totally knew how to quickly cut my hair and address my concerns regarding cowlicks and matching the picture I showed her for style guidance. We had a great chat along the way, during which I learned that the clientele for this establishment is primarily *men* despite the "beauty salon" name on the building and the beauty-salon-more-than-barber-shop look inside. Who knew?! I felt very comfortable and taken care of at Modelcuts. Many thanks to Frances! Ended up with a great cut and saved a few bucks compared to Supercuts. I'll be returning here for my next styling and hope to have a similarly pleasant experience. :-) read more

I was looking for a place to do my hair for quite some time, and this salon has been the perfect place! I am so happy with the way it turned out. Nicole went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with going blonde. My hair turned out looking healthier then it was before. Thank you so much Modelcuts! I will definitely be back. I recommend this salon to anyone looking for an affordable place that will leave you completely satisfied with the result. Thanks again! read more

I followed Jenny here from her previous salon. Jenny and her sister Emily who does pedicures are fabulous. Jenny has done my acrylics for years and now I have talked my husband into having a regular pedicure he is a much happier guy. (Take notice men! Pedicures can change your life!) All the folk at Model Cuts are great and do really good work. read more

I went in for a trim today and I saw Xena. I have been here in the past and it was fine. I took her I'm growing my hair out and needed the edges evened up. She cut off 2-3 inches! My hair is already short. When I expressed concerns both over the cut and time it was taking, she ignored me. When I said it was too short, she said it's because my hair is fine. I know I have fine hair, but I am paying for the service and have to live with the haircut. The cut itself is fine, but it's ill suited to my face and not at all what I wanted. Needless to say, I'm never going back, and I would highly reccommend anyone with a particular hairstyle in mind, to go somewhere else because they DON'T LISTEN! read more

Got a terrible haircut at a salon near my home so I started to look around for a new hair salon. My coworker suggested I try this place out and I'm in love! Upon arriving I was not sure what to expect but my sister and I decided to try it out. We got there around 11am and Veronica and Mayra took us in no time. Despite us not having appointments in advance, they were very accommodating. Mayra was able to even out my already short hair without cutting off too much and my sister, who had very long hair, was in and out in no time. Not only were they polite and skilled, the cut itself was inexpensive compared to other places in the area. I would definetly recommend Mayra or Veronica!! read more

Love this place. My son always gets his hair cut here and looks great. The ladies are very nice. Yes it's a hole in the wall. But it doesn't mean anything less. Totally unprofessional! TERRIBLE customer service. I called them around 4pm today and asked if I could make an appointment for tonight. They told me to come in an hour. I arrived a little before 5 and was told to wait since they were finishing up with someone and I would be next. Ok, no big deal. After a bit a woman walked over to me and said she could take me in the meantime. I explained that I had said on the phone that I wanted to see Veronica or Mayra based on the yelp reviews so I would wait for Veronica who was there. She then tried to sell me a manicure job instead. I declined and kept waiting. Looking around I noticed that the place looked run down and filthy. For example, the dirty fake leather couch cover was ripped and falling off and they didn't seem to be cleaning up the stations between customers. But I thought, ok, I'm here I will give it a try... Then another guy arrived and I was told that he had an appointment with Veronica so I would have to keep waiting, but was promised that I would go after him. I told them I had already been waiting and reminded them that I had called before driving over, but they said I would have to wait and promised it would be quick. Right when they finally finished with that guy, ANOTHER guy walked in and Veronica told me that he, too, had an appointment with her and that she also still had to rinse another woman's hair color and finish her so I would have to keep waiting! I was like this is ridiculous I called you at 4 to make an appointment and was told I would be seen at 5. It was now after 5:30 and they just kept taking other customers with no apology or explanation. Not to mention why did they even tell me to come if they were apparently all booked up! I was so frustrated and appalled at the terrible service that I just left and went to another place down the street, which by the way, could take me right away with no rudeness or complications and they were even having a special deal that night! I guess with a $10 hair cut you cant expect much, but I didn't think it would be this AWFUL. Don't waste your time going to this place, chances are they wont even be able to see you, and from what I saw tonight, even if you do get in you're going to leave with a crappy haircut. read more

Veronica is such a big help!!! Here I am with crazy split ends and she gracefully cuts my hair so it keeps its length AND helps with my unhealthy ends. She has seriously helped me achieve my "hair goal" of long, thick, luscious hair. (No, I'm not talkin' Ovation Cell Therapy). It's all Veronica. Price is almost too good to be true... But it is!
