I had a poor experience with Meg earlier in the year when I went in for a haircut and highlights. I had liked my previous experiences with her and had sent her new clients, but will no longer be recommending her after my last visit as I found her communication and business practices to be quite shoddy. I confirmed the price with her ahead of our appointment and once again during our consultation. I had also received a discount code from her that she said she would apply to the visit. Midway through our appointment while we were making small talk she abruptly informed me that she would be charging me more than what she herself had confirmed during the consultation. It came out of nowhere and was very disorienting. When I reminded her of the discount, she made something up on the spot about how the new higher price still reflected the discount. It was super shady and vague and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I could not leave because my head was wrapped in foil and bleach when she chose to announce this change. The color also did not come out the way we had discussed and she pretty much rushed me out of the chair while we were still within our appointment window and kept making passive aggressive jabs about how she had other clients coming in and how she should charge me even more. It's clear that she was disorganized and had not planned her schedule well and was taking that urgency out on her clients. I found the experience to be unprofessional and baffling and will not be returning. read more

Genai is the most unprofessional hairdresser I have ever encountered. As tears were running down my face because I was concerned that my hair was getting shorter than I wanted, Genai insulted me, mocked me for being upset, and dismissed my concerns instead of showing even the most basic level of professionalism or compassion. Rather than taking a moment to communicate with me, she told me to leave before my haircut was even finished. I walked out with an uneven, unfinished haircut and was left shocked by how I was treated. No client should ever be humiliated for expressing concern about their own hair. Genai has been my hairstylist for about a year now and I could not recommend her more. I have very thin hair and somehow every single time I leave her chair I feel like I have a completely full head of hair. She gives new life with my cut. The way she uses layers to create that volume is genuinely impressive. What I also really appreciate is that she takes the time to walk me through how to style it at home, which makes such a difference between appointments. I have been going to Genai for cuts for some time now because she gives me the best haircut I've ever had every single time, and she is also so easy to talk to, really listens to her clients, and I always leave happy. I recently went to Genai for K-tip extensions, and I am SO glad I did. I am extremely impressed- I have never had extensions look and feel this good. They are light, easy to style, and they look completely natural. I've always had fine hair, but I had been noticing my hair getting thinner in the last few years, so I got the K-tips for extra volume and fullness, and I am so glad I did because they look amazing! Genai did an incredible job making them undetectable, even to me! They're light, they don't put tension on the hair, and unlike clip-ins, they are so easy to style or throw into a ponytail. I have known Megan so many hair colors ago (around or almost 20 years) and I have nothing but kind words to say about her. She is such a wonderful hairstylist and an amazing person. She is VERY Welcoming to every single person that walks through that door. She makes sure everyone is comfortable and even asks if they would like some sort of refreshment. She will come in earlier than usual or stay later than her business hours to accommodate her clients needs. She is always honest with her clients (which you don't see that often) and provides guidance when their clients aren't sure of what they want. Come for the hair stay for the coffee (sometimes wine). I have been going to Megan, one of the owners, forever. She has taken me from blonde to red to brown to platinum and back around again. My hair has seriously never been healthier. She is honest when I ask for something that may cause damage or won't suit my face, and is mindful when I'm on a time crunch or need to watch my spending.
