That said, I've had her cut in color my hair in 2 different nearby salons & Darling Nikki's is definitely my favorite. Brittney did an all over bleach taking my dark brown hair to a light blonde without damage. She was constantly checking my comfort as the bleach was on my scalp & asking if I needed a drink or a break. After that she gave me the most gorgeous color, melting 3 different tones to give me a pastel pink & rose gold color melt that was exactly what I wanted. If pastel pink hair was a natural hair color it would probably look something like she created for me! I feel like a rock star, magical unicorn, & flamingo sex bomb all in one! I just got home from my appointment at Darling Nikki's. My appointment was with Kayla. I was referred here by a friend of mine who also has great color and I'm always impressed. So decided to make an appointment (after a year). A little background; I have been going to the same hair person for over 25 years. I've wanted vibrant color and she always told me it was impossible and I just accepted it. My colors never have dimension and I've hated my hair for years. Last year she gave me a Cut that I absolutely loved but the next time I needed a cut, she couldn't duplicate it and ended up butchering my hair. This was a year ago. Since then I've only allowed her color and to trim my bangs. Last Sunday she did my eyebrows and I asked if she could trim my bangs and she said she had no time (even though her next appointment wasn't there yet). I made a choice to make a change. I contacted Darling Nikki's. An appointment was set for today at 11:15am and when I tell you the last 4 days were brutally long waiting for today to come, I wouldn't be lying. I got there a few minutes early and was greeted by a great receptionist who told Kayla I was there. I sat down in her chair and we started chatting. I told her all of the above (and then some) and while she listened she was evaluating my hair. I told her where I want to go color wise and she explained the process. I get that we can't take me from a totally dark color to light in one day and agreed with her course of progress. We begin. First we strip. Next we color. Last came the cut and dry. I am very nearly in tears. My hair is the purple I have always dreamed of having and it feels awesome (not dried out). The cut is great too ! This salon absolutely ROCKS in regard to listening to their clients and delivering. I am "home" Personally; Kayla THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to once again look in a mirror and not hate my hair. You and I are looking at a beautiful future together Step 1 done edit: 1 week in the books with new hair color. I have washed it and when I did, I thought there would be a ton of color in the tub. Nope, hardly any. Now, I did wash and rinse with cooler water and when you have color like this it's necessary. The other thing I noticed is that not a lot of hair is in my brush. Just got home from my appointment at Darling Nikki's Salon. My hair stylist was Amber Payfrom, from the beginning she was very nice and catered to my needs. She was very welcoming and understood my vision. The first thing she did was bleach my hair, in order to allow for the color I requested to hold and look good. Might I say, I've had other people bleach my hair in the past and they've all left me with burnt marks (around my hairline) - but not Amber. She was on top everything and made sure to constantly check on the progress of it. Second, as we waited for my hair to bleach; Amber went ahead and worked on multiple shades of green (which was the color I had in mind) and brought them out to me so I could chose. I ended up picking a color that turned out to be WAY TOO BRIGHT. Amber was so accommodating and then went ahead to work on a bit darker version of the color, which she then applied. [Again, sorry Amber for having you work double, but THANKYOU because the outcome is just what I wanted]. I will definitely be returning AND recommending Amber. Just want to clarify for readers. UPDATE: I think the response to this review is now bordering on hostile. I didn't call anyone a liar anywhere in my review, there was clearly a misunderstanding here - I tried to get clarity on pricing over the phone and couldn't get that. My intention with posting isn't to disparage the salon, just to let others know that it's not clear or upfront how much a service costs. Like the owner mentioned, I ultimately did pay the price requested with tip. I don't appreciate the hostility/accusations or the message to my yelp inbox urging me to read this rebuttal. This was my experience, and perhaps I should have been more aggressive in my initial ask about pricing. At other salons I've been to, a trim costs less than a haircut. I thought this would be the case here as well. I think Amber was great, so again, absolutely nothing bad to say about the haircut except that if I knew I was going to pay for a full haircut, I would've gone somewhere where trim=haircut isn't the case. I was in search of a stylist who could make me platinum blonde, so when I called Darkling Nikki's I was set up with Amber P. I was nervous because I've never done anything drastic with my hair, but Amber walked me through each step and made me comfortable. She did a STELLAR job with my hair, and it came out a flawless platinum blonde color. Not only is the color gorgeous, but my hair is soft and moisturized. I expected the bleach to dry out my hair, but the type of products Amber used plus her coloring technique resulted in my hair coming out healthier than I've ever felt. This salon ROCKS!!!! The Salon is named after one of my favorite Prince songs which definitely intrigued me to check it out. So so glad I did. My husband and daughter were the first to try it and shared that it was a must for me to visit as well. Receptionist sat me up for a consultation with Amber since I was new. She totally gets i dont want to spend a ton of time on my hair so she works with me to make sure the roots come out natural and I use good products to keep it healthy. Angelina is awesome too! Ashley did an amazing job on my husband's hair. For the longest time, I've been trying to convince him to go to a reputable salon to get his haircut. Finally after a series of disappointed haircut after haircut, he finally decided to take my advice and get his haircut. My husband got a messy spikey hair cut, and for the first time in the history of him getting haircuts since he's been home, he walks away a happy customer. I wish I could give Armen 10000000 stars! Let me tell you, I'm in my mid-30's and have had my hair cut by SOOOO many different people. I have never, ever, EVER been happier with a cut and style than I was today. We sat down and he really listened to what I wanted. I didn't even have to show him pictures. I have frizzy, limp looking hair. I wanted a mid-length cut with layers, but not too layered/shaggy, and Armen DELIVERED! I told him what I wanted and he exceeded my expectations. I knew I was in good hands from the second he started to wash my hair. Let me tell you, he washes & massages your scalp and I almost fell asleep... It was the best wash I have had. We sat down and he really listened to what I wanted. I didn't even have to show him pictures. I have frizzy, limp looking hair. I wanted a mid-length cut with layers, but not too layered/shaggy, Lastly, when it came time for the blowout, I usually just let them style it however, and 99% of the time, it looks like an old lady blow out, just flipped under and never how I would style it myself. I just got my haircut from Rosie and she's absolutely amazing. I've been coming to her for over 3 years now and she always does exceptional job with my hair. I just tell her what I want and she makes it happen. What I love about her the most is that she always listens to my opinion and uses her expertise to get me fabulous hair. I'm very picky when it comes to hair but Rosie doesn't leave any room for complains. She's very sweet no matter how much hard time I give her during hair cut with all my demands. Marissa listens to you and works with you to get your hair looking healthy. She's fantastic with styling, and cuts and to color. And she doesn't push you into anything you aren't comfortable with. I'm not a fan of going to "salons"... That being said I decided to skip my usual Barber Shop haircut and visit Darling Nikki's. The hours are more accommodating with my schedule. I called and was promptly booked with a hairstylist named Maureen. The place was easy to find and they have free parking in the back. It's super close to Porto's so if you're hungry before or after your cut you can stop by there,(and bring the girls some goodies, too!). I found the salon to be girly but not so much so I felt odd being there. The colours were neutral and the environment and music was choice and as soon as it was known that I had an appointment I was asked if I would like something to drink by the very nice girl at the front desk. Maureen was called from the back and I was greeted with an awesome smile and a sense of comfort. She quickly had me in the hot seat and ready to go. I had some pics of previous haircuts that I had liked on me. Maureen looked through them and quickly went to work. Maureen has an attention to detail I have never experienced at any barber shop. She switched from shears to clippers and was very in tune with the ebb and flow of my head and maneuvered it with ease and professionalism. The conversation was enthralling and the hair style was spot on and painless, as it should be. I will definitely be visiting Darling Nikki's Salon in the future for more fantastic fades and will absolutely request Maureen as my stylist. You should too! A true gem of Burbank compared to the competition, Darling Nikki's prices were fair and their results were professional and impressive. This review is for my wife's hair dye treatment by Angelina Marie. My wife went from jet black to a strawberry blonde in one day after 9 years of dyeing her hair black. Angelina offered a free consultation-- which does not come free by most other salons in the area who want to charge you $30 just to talk for 10 mins. She dedicated the whole day to my wife's hair treatment. The pricing was very fair too $75/hr compared to other stylists charging $85 or $100/hr and the stylists here have just as much experience as the other competition out there. I would highly recommend this establishment and Angelina to anyone looking for a professional hair dye treatment or cut. read more

First things first, this salon is the jam. The walls are outfitted in lavender with prints and painting of the late Prince. I must admit I stood there awestruck for a moment before I was greeted with a warm smile and an offer for coffee or water by the salon's senior assistant and junior stylist, Amber (who gives the most glorious shampoo and head massage, plus has enviably great hair). A little backstory for those of you who just love reading reviews: my hair was a bit of a mess. And by a bit I mean a lot of a mess. Like Animal from the muppets dying his own hair for years and then never cutting it mess. Like a giant fluffy tangle. I had let my hair go bad and it was going to take a badass woman to fix it. That woman of course is Master stylist and owner, Ashley who is so amazing, she likely has a degree from Hogwarts in hair revival wizardry. She joked with me through my nervousness, was patient and kind as we discussed color and cut options and before I knew it, the sad beige dust bunny living atop my head had transformed into a beautiful amber red TOUCHABLE mane. The rest of the day the compliments wouldn't stop! Everyone in the salon was downright Gold.
