No heat protectant was put on my hair whatsoever and my ends were left crunchy, dry, and frizzy. I am due for a haircut soon but my ends were absolutely not this fried when I arrived. I was never asked what I wanted as far as styling beyond that I wanted the bouncy blowout. I arrived with my bangs clearly down and styled, but they were completely ignored. He just tried to smooth my bangs into the rest of my hair at the last second as a last resort leaving my hair very strangely parted and my cowlick just dangling there. I was at such a loss for words I just paid and left because I was on the verge of tears looking at the top of my head and my ends. The people were very nice I just couldn't believe they let me leave looking like that. I should have said something but I was just so confused and at a loss. Definitely don't come here if you have any sort of bangs or cowlicks of any kind and if you do please request they put heat protectant on your hair To update based off of the owner's reply: 1. I did leave through the back door as recommended, so my hair never came in contact with any moisture. I walked out through the back into the parking structure area. The photos I took are on the drive home and my hair had come into zero contact with any sort of water or moisture. 2. The condition of my ends is in no way just frizz from moisture in the air. I've since then washed and styled my hair multiple times and my ends are completely fried, which is not the condition my hair was in before the blowout. My ends were soft and relatively healthy. 3. As far as leaving without saying anything, that IS my fault. I'm generally too shy to say anything or express concerns after receiving a service. But even a restyle would not have saved the damage to my hair. However, my plan WAS to communicate how I wanted my hair to be styled. I even had reference images ready to show my bangs. Not only was I never asked how I would like my hair to be styled other than the original question (straight blowout or bouncy blowout), not a single word was spoken to me during the service and the person blowing out my hair had their headphones in and was talking on the phone with someone. That's not exactly a situation where I'm comfortable expressing how I would like my hair done. I was sat in the chair and my blowout began immediately as my stylist had headphones in and was on a call with someone, with no opportunity to express how I would like it styled. Overall, I'm willing to admit that I should've asked for a restyle on my bangs/front area. That is my fault for being too shy to say anything and just pretending that I loved it and that everything was fine. But I DID leave through the back door as recommended, my ends are fried (not just frizzy from moisture), and the behavior of the stylist (no questions asked, silence, headphones in, and on a phone call) didn't make me feel comfortable to express how I wanted my hair styled in the first place. I'm not expecting any refund as I know the no refunds policy and I'm aware that I could've and should've said something at least about the bangs. But to act as if I didn't listen to your advice when someone LITERALLY let myself and my partner out of the back door straight to the parking structure and that the damage to my hair is just frizz is really upsetting.

The owner later called me and said that even this partial refund was a "favor" because they normally don't issue refunds. She also made a point of telling me that she has a legal education, which I found particularly surprising considering her apparent lack of understanding of basic consumer protection principles when a paid service is not delivered as agreed. Very disappointing service and an even more disappointing response to a legitimate customer complaint.

I'm attaching photos because they show the haircut better than I can describe it. I'm very disappointed both with the service and with how my concern was handled afterward.

Suspicious of both the friendly tone of the person on the other line, the easy availability to book an appointment, and the convenient location, I was pretty nervous walking into the first appointment. I've been burned before. Somewhere along the way, I've been programmed to think scarcity of availability for salons means they're better quality, since the appointments are seemingly more in demand. Thankfully, my nerves were quickly quelled. Emily was so kind, personable, and NORMAL. She didn't make me feel uncomfortable, the salon was welcoming and the color service? Phenomenal. There's a moment during a foil color treatment where you have no idea what you're going to look like in 10 minutes. Not a clue. It's a kind of stress and anxiety that's hard to explain unless you've already personally experienced the bowl rinse out after a color treatment. Wondering, have I just made a terrible mistake? This is my new spot. The foil came off, the rinse completed, and after the blow dry I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe it. I looked..like...myself! The self I remembered from before kids! I was seeing Jason E. on and off for 2 years and consistently for last 9 months for cut and color. I assure everyone, I am a good person who is very polite. Like many women, I hate getting my hair cut because I have wavy hair and it's a challenge to cut and avoid weird shapes and have had a lifetime of bad cuts. Although I am picky, I am *never* rude, nasty or mean. I DO love to get my hair colored and have never said anything negative to Jason E. about my hair color. Jason E. was always nice and friendly to me until a few months ago when I noticed the last 2 times, he was very impatient and curt with me. I asked him if anything was wrong and told him he seemed annoyed with me. He said "No." Then yesterday he BLINDSIDED ME and what amounted to kicking me out of the salon! He went totally ballistic on me and threw me out of the salon and said he didn't even want my money. We weren't even arguing... he was clearly annoyed with anything I said. He started out the appointment impatiently when I asked him whether I should color just my roots or my whole head cause I wanted highlights. I was merely asking his professional opinion which for some reason he interpreted as me being difficult. He implied I'd been unhappy with a prior color which I assure you was not true. The assistant colored my roots and then I went to cut my hair. Because duplicating a cut seems impossible for every stylist (which he admitted), I was attempting to explain to him what I wanted and was asking questions VERY POLITELY. Cearly he was annoyed with everything I said. He (sort of) finished the cut and then asked if I wanted product in my hair. I asked, "What about the highlights?" He replied, "I can't do them." Me: "Why not?" Jason: "I can't work on you anymore. You stress me out." Me: "WHAT???" Jason: "You are never happy with anything I do." (NOT TRUE. I've called twice in the past to leave messages telling him the cut was good!) You don't even have to pay for today. You take the fun and creativity out of it." Me: "I'm always asking your opinion and you never give it to me!" Jason: "You stress me out. You take all the fun out of it" and looks down at his iTouch. (Yes, he was on it in while kicking me out and telling me how horrible I am.) I tried to at least pay for the color since the assistant did it, not him. He looked up from his iTouch and said "No, don't pay. I don't want your money." This was a guy who used to hug me every time I came in for an appointment!! Our rapport was so good I've brought in both my sister and sister-in-law to get styled by him! Needless to say, I sobbed for hours. I don't understand why couldn't he just politely tell me - like a mature adult - that this professional relationship isn't working out for him. Why did he even take my appt. when clearly he was already impatient with me the last 2 times I saw him. Thanks to him, I will now hate getting my hair cut more than I already do. NO ONE, who is a decent, friendly and polite person, deserves to be treated the way he treated me yesterday. Please DO NOT LEAVE mean comments. I am already horrified by what happened. read more

Claudio is my hero. I went in to see him after the salon that I'd been going to for the last couple of years did a number on my hair for the second time in a row, leaving me again with thick orange stripes instead of the "subtle, cool tone" highlights I had asked for, even with pictures for reference. Last time I went back and had the other salon fix it. This time, I was so annoyed by the complete disregard for what I had requested, including the style of cut I received vs. what I had asked for, that I decided to look elsewhere. I found C the Salon and Claudio through Yelp. I saw the review that showed how he'd color corrected someone else's hair nightmare and decided to give the place a shot. He and his assistant Nicole were very attentive and listened to my concerns. He explained the options for fixing it and spent a lot of time making sure it would turn out as close to what I wanted as possible given what he had to work with. I instantly felt confident that I would be satisfied with the end result. It was evident that he knew what he was talking about and had a great understanding of color as he explained the "problems" and how he would address them. As you can see from the before and after picture, he did an AH-MAZING job. He definitely earned my business. I also appreciate that they have a price sheet available at the reception desk so you at least have some idea what you're in for. The prices for highlights are a bit pricier than I'm used to, but ultimately, I think it will be worth it just to know that I can count on loving the results every time. That said, he was incredibly generous about the bill this time knowing that I had already dropped $165 at the other salon. I think that speaks a lot about him and the type of business he runs, and it is just one more reason why I will be going back. I can't wait to see what he can do when he doesn't have to work off of orange stripes! read more

Not only is the environment filled with fun energy, great music and cutting edge products, but the staff is fantastic! The owner, Claudio Lazo, is a brilliant stylist, who has created an synergistic team of consistently trained, every improving hair stylists, who remain on the cutting edge of the beauty industry. Claudio does not just look at my hair and talk with me about what style I want, he gives me guidance on how my decision in choosing a hairstyle can enhance my look. I appreciate how he honestly supports me by sharing how certain hairstyles may not bring out the best in my face. He carefully considers my skin coloring, age, and lifestyle, as he guides me towards a fashionable and beautiful look that I love EVERY TIME! He is in demand, so make your appointments in advance. P.S. - Claudio's price may, initially, seem on the high end, but his haircuts and color are lasting and look fantastic, even during the grow out phase. This is a review for Tiffany Green-Paz. She is a "god" when it comes to creating a hairstyle that is for you. I have Asian hair and wanted to go lighter, Tiffany worked her magic and created beautiful highlights that are so natural that you can't tell they are done professionally. The most fantastic thing is that they will grow out naturally and I won't have to have them done again until probably about December. A mark of a good haircut is how it grows out. I can go for a long time between cuts. Tiffany has helped me go from a short trendy bob style to a nice classic mid-length cut. Now, I'm trying to grow it into long locks.... Another fantastic experience at C the Salon and particularly with Therese Bacchus. I have been going to Therese for over 25 years now and she is by far the best at color, (and all other things hair for that matter), as you can get. I trust her implicitly and often go in just needing some kind of change and she always has me leaving feeling great. I have followed her to many different salons over the years, and this one is by far the most professional and the most fun. Although I have to drive quite a distance to get there it is well worth it to be in her care. Candice at C the Salon (formerly Allen Edwards) has been doing my haircut and color for over 10 years. I have been so completely satisfied with everything! My two grown daughters have been going to Candice as well. Not only have my daughters been happy with their haircuts and their hair for special occasions, but the friends they have referred love Candice as well. I have had Damon as my stylist for a few years now and I would not trust anyone else to cut my hair. If you are looking for someone to trust with any technical or unique cuts Damon is definitely the go to stylist. He has done a bob, pixie, buzz, and bangs on me and I have never been disappointed. I have been seeing Jaclyn Wosk for about two years now and she is the only hair colorist I trust! She is impressively skilled and efficient in her craft. Just came back from a haircut. Therese is the best! Best cuts, best color, best vibe. I've been going to her forever now, and C the Salon is a great location - everyone is welcoming, helpful, friendly, and attitude free, in an easy location with lots of amenities around - coffee, yogurt, restaurants, even a Trader Joes within a half a block. I've been seeing my stylist, Tiffany, at C the Salon for almost ten years. She's always on top of her game and knows exactly what styles will look good on what people. Came along Tiffany on instagram and after seeing all the colors and cuts she does I had to book an appointment with her. As soon as I walked in the workers were so nice, they offered my mom and I coffee and water, it had a very good vibe. And Tiffany is amazing she is vey knowledgeable in what she does. I confirmed the price with her ahead of our appointment and once again during our consultation. I had also received a discount code from her that she said she would apply to the visit. Midway through our appointment while we were making small talk she abruptly informed me that she would be charging me more than what she herself had confirmed during the consultation. It came out of nowhere and was very disorienting. When I reminded her of the discount, she made something up on the spot about how the new higher price still reflected the discount. It was super shady and vague and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I could not leave because my head was wrapped in foil and bleach when she chose to announce this change. The color also did not come out the way we had discussed and she pretty much rushed me out of the chair while we were still within our appointment window and kept making passive aggressive jabs about how she had other clients coming in and how she should charge me even more. It's clear that she was disorganized and had not planned her schedule well and was taking that urgency out on her clients. I found the experience to be unprofessional and baffling and will not be returning.

I walked out with an uneven, unfinished haircut and was left shocked by how I was treated. No client should ever be humiliated for expressing concern about their own hair. Parents deserve compassion and help, not shame when a kid is having a tough time. As they were trying to leave, she even went so far as to call security. It was insane. I hope anyone who is looking for a new salon chooses a place that supports and lifts up families, not who makes them feel unwelcome and like they're an inconvenience.

While they were outside, I witnessed a woman, who I was later told is the salon manager, Marisa confront these parents in an incredibly inappropriate manner. She made them feel humiliated, and treated them as if they were doing something wrong simply for comforting their upset child. She even went as far as calling security, claiming they were being disruptive because their child was crying. As a bystander, I was honestly disgusted. Watching someone speak to parents this way, especially when they were calmly trying to support their child, was deeply upsetting. Children have difficult moments, they don't always know how to regulate their emotions, and that's exactly when they need patience and compassion, not hostility. I cannot understand how anyone, especially someone in a position of responsibility, could behave in such a cold and unacceptable way toward a family in that situation. To the salon manager, just do better.
