Nuria is the only person I trust with my hair. I started seeing her at 16 after years of cutting and dyeing it myself, and she's completely transformed not just my hair, but my confidence as well. This before and after, over five years of growing out my natural hair with keratin treatments and balayage, truly speaks for itself.

I heard about Salon Vida from a friend who had been Nuria's client for several years. Initially, I reached out to the Instagram account to inquire about services, but didn't receive a reply. I scheduled my appointment through Vagaro, which is simple and straightforward. It's a reliable service, and does a great job confirming appointments. Initially, I scheduled my appointment with Lauren, but when I arrived was serviced by Kaylee (apparently Lauren was out of town). I didn't care too much about being swapped stylists since it was my first time there and I didn't have a preference. I had a keratin treatment performed and it was the first time I had ever had one done. Kaylee did an amazing job explaining step by step what would happen, and more importantly, made accommodations to make my experience as pleasant as possible. Due to the smell of the chemicals, she opened the door and got me a personal fan so that the fumes wouldn't bother me. I really liked that attention to detail. The keratin treatment took a little over 2 hours and was $300. On Vagaro, it was listed ranging from $250-$300. They accept payment thru Zelle and Venmo. Nuria did say hello to me and it was wonderful to have extra care and attention while getting my service. I loved the results!

Salon Vida is so chic and yet so comfortable & inviting!!! Everyone is so friendly and, of course, Selina is frickin amazing!!! She's a genius with my hair and by far the best stylist I've ever worked with!! It was a toner & cut this time, but she's also responsible for the gorgeous highlights!! Selina Mirza is an absolute pleasure to work with. She really took the time to learn my hair and helped find a good execution for what I wanted versus what my hair could handle. My hair has never felt healthier or looked better!!!

Kaylee is an absolute gem! Ive been coming to her for years, she really took the time to listen to what I wanted and somehow made it even better than I imagined. She has such a great eye for detail and knew exactly how to shape and style my hair so it looks effortless but polished. On top of being incredibly talented, she's so easy to talk to and makes the whole experience fun and comfortable. I walked out feeling confident, refreshed, and already excited to come back. If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about both your hair and your experience, Kaylee is the one!

The hair disaster that happened BEFORE I came to see Nuria

If you're seeing this, know you are in the right place. NURIA is heaven sent from the hair Gods, she is impeccable!! extraordinary! outstanding! Where do I begin? I've been seeing Nuria for 15 years. Before I found her my hair was a wreck. Broken off by years of bad color jobs, extensions and hair straightening. She single handedly took my hair and transformed it. Once she started cutting it, it began growing for the first time in years past my shoulders (no joke she has magical gifted hands that work miracles). She got my hair to be a beautiful color, and shine again, after it was matted and dull. Once every blue moon (usually every 4-5 years or so) I've gone rogue and either gone off to someone else to color my hair or attempted to do it myself (I've been impatient because Nuria's booked + busy and I haven't wanted to wait) and I've ALWAYS regretted it and come back to Nuria. She always takes me back with grace and fixes the bs I created, without rubbing it in my face. There are A LOT of hair stylists/colorists in LA, I've seen the so called best of them, and there is NO ONE like Nuria. She is a unicorn. She will preserve the integrity of your hair, never rush, and give you the results you're looking for. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she is truly THE BEST. Nuria just opened up her own salon, and I can't wait to see her continue to thrive, she is in a league of her own.

Salon Vida is a great place that provides a variety of amazing hair services. I have been going to Nuria, Lauren and Kaylee for over 8 years. I currently have weft extensions and Nuria does an excellent job with my extensions and matches my color perfectly. The keratin treatments, cuts and blowdrys are also top notched. I also bring both my daughters here to get their haircuts. The team at Salon Vida is stellar and you will not be disappointed!

Through the non-profit "Children with Hair Loss" Du Japon Hair Club was vetted for donations and is the only approved salon in the Los Angeles area. I met Yuki, who owns and operates this salon and also one of the best stylists I've had in my years of barbers. She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I would recommend calling well in advance for your appointment, as she works generally towards the end of the week through the weekend.

Yuki should have warned me that my hair was too fine for this process instead of taking my money to ruin my hair. If she is so experienced and so great she should have known better and know that the process she was doing would ruin my hair. This is my warning to others that are going here to have straightening done. Don't rely on her to tell you it's not right for your hair. To top it off when I called to tell her she did not apologize, she did not act as though she felt bad her response was not caring at all. Not to mention she didn't offer any advice or a refund. Now it will take me years to get my hair healthy and I'm so upset.

I found Anya on Reddit and came in on a nice Sunday to get a curly cut from her. She was super comfortable doing my hair and talking to me about what I wanted, and even made suggestions that went along with what my endgame was. I essentially told her I wanted to keep my bangs and my face framing little hair tendrils, and she can do what she wanted with the rest! From there, she asked questions such as how heavy my hair feels regularly/the last time I got it cut, if I like my hair to have volume or sit the way it is and mimicked with my hair how both versions looked, made observations and suggestions on where we could go. Honestly, this was the best experience I've had! She thinned out a lot of my hair as well since it gets pretty heavy for me, gave me a nice shape and my hair more personality, and even layers on the back to make everything more cohesive! Frankie was my wash tech (is that what they're called?) and she was great to talk to about books! She was also very cautious on making sure the water was just right for my scalp. Though when we rinsed with cold water it hit soooo good hehe.

I didn't realize or forgot they have parking in front and they will even run out to pay your meter for you if needed. I just parked in the neighborhood nearby. Salon vibes are so chill and inviting. Coffee and water provided too. A no pressure vibe which I loved. No product pushing, no pressure whatsoever when describing what you are trying to get. Sometimes I'm anxious with the salon because it's a lot when it comes to finding the right blonde or just awkward conversation. Not here! She works with you so well and you immediately feel comfortable walking into the salon and through the entire interaction. And just comfortable, fun environment while you're there! Fun conversation, every one was so incredibly nice. I also can't sit still for long- severe back problems and adhd so it was nice I could get up and move as needed. This is not a high pressure sales environment. Obviously suggestions, opinions communicated etc...but the objective was not to sell me something or turn the chair over for the next client. She is 100% the doctor and the surgeon. I got exactly what | asked for. Read that again: EXACTLY what I asked for. Having experienced the accuracy of an exclusively blonde colorist, I cannot overstate that value. 3) Communication It's possible your colorist may have to interpret what you're asking for. It's possible this takes time. Cait spent time with me. She encouraged me to say more and made me feel comfortable (read: not-stupid) as I probably talked out of both sides of my mouth and stumbled through my wants, needs, pictures, let-downs, etc. Look, I don't care who's hair you've colored, or "red carpet" this, "social media following" that blah blee blah. All of your skill and knowledge and experience is lost on me if: I'm intimidated You have one eye on the clock for our entire consult You're annoyed with my inability to articulate Couple the thorough communication with the technical capability and B/B is in a whole other league, entirely. Caitlin, you should be really proud of this business. Ok. SO: I hesitate to comment on/share price and service-time because every blonde really is unique BUT since that's probably the info you're looking for, I'll say this: Re price: Not inexpensive ALTHOUGH more than fair (even before you consider comps at other salons) Re time: It takes as long as it takes. Dunno what else to say about that one. Its bleach, people. Maybe don't rush it? TL;DR? Um, "best". You get what you pay for. Proceed with confidence (and enthusiasm!) srsly though?
