Jayne was incredibly kind and took the time to walk me through all of the amazing products you carry. Her knowledge was so impressive, and I truly appreciated how thoroughly she explained everything, that kind of personalized attention is rare in LA. We came in for my 12-year-old son's haircut, and Tabitha was simply amazing. She did a wonderful job with his hair, and we were beyond impressed with the final result. She was professional, detailed, and the cut and style came out perfectly. You can really see the care and pride she puts into her work. While I was waiting, Jayne kindly offered me a complimentary manicure clean-up. Normally I don't go for freebies, but she was so sweet and thoughtful that I said yes and I ended up wanting to book a full manicure because of how wonderful she was. She did an excellent job, especially since my nails were in rough shape from picking at them. They turned out beautiful, polished, and perfect. I also want to mention the other lovely girl at the front desk, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch. She was so kind and helpful in showing me the teas and new skincare products. Update to my review: The salon called me to go back in and they would charge $240 for highlights. Just look at my pictures. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS! Now I really do have to have to go somewhere to pay hundreds of dollars for a color correction. Hita, the owner, overlooked the entire process and was directing Tabitha. The end result was finished when Hita was already gone so Tabitha said she would send the pictures to Hita. Additionally the girls at the front who were also horrified said they would send the pictures to Hita and not to worry, it would be an easy fix. However, Hita said she's proud of the work they did and that this is not worthy of a refund or "fixing". Judge for yourself. This is their best work. This place is horrible. Hita, the supposed "color educator" did this to my hair and claims the "integrity of my hair couldn't take it" - check out the pictures and let me know if that looks like "damaged" hair. She is a master manipulator. Her own stylists were horrified at the work and said it would be an easy fix, so I simply ask her to please tone the hair down - at least make the colors even, she claims that I'm bullying her. Im absolutely devastated that after all this time, money, energy and trust, I'm left with an end result that is only going to cost me more money, time and energy to fix. These are very bad people. Hi! I want to give a wonderful shoutout to stylist Jennifer Parker (Jenny). It was my sister's birthday on April 30th, and Jenny took us on incredibly short notice. Unfortunately, on the same day, my sister's hair was cut too short at another hair salon and we went to Aveda in Studio City with a "hair emergency." Jenny took my sister and immediately started working. She put her hair up and comforted my sister by saying it would be a "Disney princess" themed hair style. She described it perfectly. Aveda on Ventura Blvd near Bookstar offers a pleasant color-and-cut experience. The salonists all know what they're doing, and they're all very gracious. You'll be offered tea on a pretty tray. You'll be given a nice hand and temple massage with aromatherapy. You'll walk out feeling pretty and pampered. Guys get a nice hot towel treatment! I've seen plenty of guys in here looking very happy and chill. Aveda is a bit pricey for my blood, but they are very good. Definitely a good place to keep in your back pocket! read more

Honestly, I can say that this salon is the best in LA area. They strive to take care of their guest/costumers and will do their best to make them happy at all cost. The management is heartfelt and hard working, the stylist are amazing and so talented in all of their locations. Ok, let me start that I just paid "discounted" price of $150/hour for "highlights" that don't look anything like baby highlights I came for or any highlights, these are blotched lines. I'm already scheduling someone else to fix these bold looking patches on my scalp. I'm sorry, did I mentioned I just paid $800+ for this mess. Can't even put my hair back, this is by far the WORST case of highlights I have ever had... Anyways, on consultation, Hita told me how she is going to pick my hair one by one and only apply bleach on roots and run some darker tone in between to bring vibration to my hair. Ummm, ok, instead she parted for highlights, put foil and instead of picking hair with brush just put it in straight lines. I even asked if it will come out in lines which she assured it wouldn't because my hair are too thin. Well, if you bleach scalp in blotches like these, it will come out not only thin but bold, and right in front for everyone to see and think WTH happened... thanks a lot, not coming back nor recommend anyone here! 04/18/2023 Reply to the owner: Please stop lying and defending your horrible work! Nothing and I say absolutely nothing was done what was talked about on the constitution! My hair is ruined and a shame to look at! Hita specifically described how and what she intended to do on 3 weeks and made me wait and go to my vacation with 2 inches uncoloured roots. She ruined my vacation too that way with her lies and promises. This is a real gem of a local salon. I have been going for years. Hita, the owner takes great trouble with all of her clients. And her haircuts and color are the best. She wouldn't have a full roster of clients that keep coming back again and again otherwise. I've had my hair cut and colored by many others in the salon too and they all work to a very high standard. We live in an age where businesses get scammed by people who write bad reviews and demand payment from those businesses if they want them to take them down. There are also those who might just never be satisfied wherever they go. It makes me very sad to see this really great business being harangued by those who have written unkind and unfair reviews. DO NOT GET HAIRCUTS HERE! My cut is soooo hideous. I am so embarrassed and she cut soooo much the only choice is to shave it. Now I have 10 years to grow my hair back. First, I was told over the phone that Joy was THE curly cutter and would cost $75 because she's an expert. I was apprehensive. I haven't had any luck with haircuts. I wanted to cut my own hair as I am better off. But mom encouraged me to have it done. Now she knows why I had reservations. I wanted to cancel. My gut was screaming at me. Joy had no personality, was rude and very arrogant as most stylists are and now she quoted $100 then $90 when I asked to take out the blow dry!! Mom and I always end up having our hair cutters straighten our hair because they can't cut curly right nor style it right and always leave curly hair frizzy and ugly. But aim not paying $10 extra for drying my hair! I told her I was quoted $75 and instantly she got defensive as they all do saying she's a master cutter expert doing this since the 80s and can easily schedule me with someone else. Doesn't mean you're GOOD. She didn't even have a clue about popular curly products out there. She rolled her eyes when I talked about Deva Curl Ouidad cutters who actually have done the best job on my haircuts than anyone else. I've paid $200 for a BH curly cutter and it was the best cut but I avoid cuts because I can't afford them and they always suck. My mother used to be a hair stylist and when my mother was also horrified at my cut, she suggested to Joy how to cut layers right and she got defensive. i told her mom used to cut and style hair and she was sooooo RUDE saying, "well she doesn't now" like that changes your skill! There are no layers or volume in back and the hair in front is longer than in back. The top is flat, when I told her I need volume there. Nope. She was more interested in her neighbor cutting an abnoxious 10 yo girl's hair. She tried to correct the layers, where stylists are always making excuses, always my fault somehow. They always try to justify their ugly haircutting skills. A stylist behind me, Tommy, was giving this poor girl an ugly haircut too. I remember his horrific reviews and Hilda, who the salon recommends. Then at the desk, they tried to charge me hidden charges. They charge $5 extra for employee retirement fund or whatever it was but nobody stays there long enough for such benefits. There's always that extra fee for drying your hair straight, for that extra tube of dye you didn't know they had to use, that apparent deep conditioner they used while your hair was in the sink, so watch out. I'm so embarrassed of my hideous ugly haircut and now I have to find a curly cutter to fix it! The top of my hair is FLAT. The length in the back is shorter than the front. Never going back! Ughh! I was recommended by a friend prior to a TedX event and she did some amazing work with my thin, frizzy, and unruly hair. Went to get a routine haircut and was very disappointed. The hairstylist did not finish drying my hair as I left with wet hair at the top. My cut is jagged and ends are still damaged. The manager followed up with a routine check-in and when I explained my poor experience nothing was done and no efforts where made to listen to my needs and correct my issue. Absolutely awful experience! Please DO NOT get your hair done here. Hair was done by Tommy and overseen by Manager Hita. They left bleach on my head for almost 4 hours which resulted in a chemical burn all over my scalp and down my face. I had to follow up going to a doctor, they would not give me a refund either. Hita would not even give me her name. Her and her husband own the salon and are extremely unprofessional. I recieved her name after filing a complaint to Aveda corporate. I've waited a while to write this review but I'm still seeing awful reviews for this place so I thought I'd share my experience. I went in and asked for a cute shag cut with long curtain bangs.... what I left with had me in tears and I had to wear a hat for a long time until it grew out. He decided that super teeny tiny (way above my eyebrow) bangs was what he wanted to do instead and cut one side way W A Y shorter than the other and it was so terribly choppy. I never cry but went home in tears that day. It took forever to grow out and really lowered my self esteem. Do not go here. They also washed my hair for what felt like an eternity, stripped my hair and then told me my hair was really unhealthy to try to get me to buy their products but my hair is actually super healthy and so shiny. I came in (yesterday) Sunday for an appointment and could not have had a worse experience. Naturally I called today and the manager only comes in Thursday - Saturday. The stylist who cut my hair did not listen to what I asked for, and added services to the bill that I did request. He took almost 4 hours to do a simple cut, root touch up, and partial balayage. He ignored my request for shorter length, and dyed the underside of my hair when all I asked for was that he touch up the scattered greys that I have! I was so angry that I forgot to even show the receptionist the first timer coupon that I had downloaded from the website. When I was given the total for my services, the receptionist gave me attitude and said it wasn't her problem, and didn't give me an itemized receipt until after she had charged my card. I have never been so angry leaving a salon before! Who charges $330 for a simple cut and color with sneaky additions to the bill, takes 4 hours, and ignores what you ask for?! NEVER AGAIN. Worst color I have ever had! I think they girl was a student to be honest. She kept having the manager come check her work. It came out extremely brassy and when I mentioned it, the colorist was very defensive, saying "well that's the color you picked". Finally the guy who cut my hair (by the way he did a great job) said he would put a toner in it and agreed that it looked brassy. He said he wasn't going to charge me and they did anyways!
