I had a great experience at this Mod - I came when it first opened at 11am on a Sunday and had the place to myself for the most part! Zoey took my order and she was very bubbly and nice. She didn't mind that I asked for extra olives which was great. Brandon (who seemed to be the manager) chatted with me while my pizza was being cooked and he was so pleasant. He was excited to hear why I was in town and for me to experience Mod in SLC (even though I've had it in other states before). Over all he was very nice. Angel was cooking my pizza and put the finishing touches on it - pesto drizzle for the win!! I also tried the raspberry lemonade and mixed it with the black tea for a little kick. It was tasty! The ingredients were all fresh, the toppings were just right and it was the exact fuel I needed for a long day of work in the field. Like I said, I was the only customer there right when they opened then a couple came in towards the end of my visit but it was a nice chill place to decompress before going to work. They had 2000s punk rock playing which took me down memory lane, and I loved that. The bathroom was clean too when I checked it out. This is the absolute worst Mod location I have ever been to. We took a 6 month break because they ALWAYS got our order wrong when we ordered online, and their customer service is so poor. On a whim I thought I would give them one more try, but of course, they got it wrong and had terrible customer service yet again. My pizzas were in the oven when I arrived, but instead of bringing them to me when they were finished, the workers just put them on the pickup shelf until I went and asked again and had to repeat my name to get my pizzas. Then I checked my order, and sure enough, they had put the sauce on top and not in the side cup as my order clearly indicated. I asked them to remake it, so I got to sit there and waste my time for another 12 minutes while they remade it. When it was finally done, I asked "Any compensation for me having to sit there while you re-made the pizza?" and the jokester teenager offered me "a water cup" as compensation. Good location after a hike in Holbrook Canyon. It is close to the interstate. And miracle of all miracles it is open on Sundays. We visited during the weird thing that is partial shut down for Covid. So we all wore masks inside. The two staff members were wearing masks. There were minimal tables inside to sit at. We sat outside. I'm not sure if it's due to Covid or what but during our visit they did not have any beer or ice cream/shakes. Pizza was decent and you can pile as many toppings as you like. I opted for sliced tomatoes, basil, mushrooms and fresh garlic. Good flavor but the crust surprisingly didn't have the chewy slightly crispy (does that make sense?) crust that wood fired pizzas tend to have. This is a solid fast food pizza joint. It isn't the highest quality pizza, but it is very inexpensive. I would pick this over a Little Caesar's or 5 Buck Pizza any day! I went in because my boss gave me a gift card but I didn't know what to expect. The building is newer, clean and felt very open for a busy restaurant. As you walk in there is a large menu hanging on the wall. I discovered that those are basic templates but you are free to take anything off or add limitless toppings for no extra charge (In a similar vein as Subway but with pizza and much better). I ordered the "Mad Dog" but felt like ground beef was unnecessary so I replaced it with pesto, roasted corn, spicy peppers, green peppers and oregano. I expected the wait to be fairly long but was pleasantly surprised when my food was ready within 5-7 minutes. I imagine the turnaround is longer during peak business hours. The pizza itself came out very greasy which is fine for me but I did soak some of it up with a napkin before digging in. It was more flavorful than any fast food pizza I've ever had. That isn't a high bar but it really was made with quality ingredients and didn't sit heavily in my stomach.
