I had a great experience at this Mod - I came when it first opened at 11am on a Sunday and had the place to myself for the most part! Zoey took my order and she was very bubbly and nice. She didn't mind that I asked for extra olives which was great. Brandon (who seemed to be the manager) chatted with me while my pizza was being cooked and he was so pleasant. He was excited to hear why I was in town and for me to experience Mod in SLC (even though I've had it in other states before). Over all he was very nice. Angel was cooking my pizza and put the finishing touches on it - pesto drizzle for the win!! I also tried the raspberry lemonade and mixed it with the black tea for a little kick. It was tasty! The ingredients were all fresh, the toppings were just right and it was the exact fuel I needed for a long day of work in the field. Like I said, I was the only customer there right when they opened then a couple came in towards the end of my visit but it was a nice chill place to decompress before going to work. They had 2000s punk rock playing which took me down memory lane, and I loved that. The bathroom was clean too when I checked it out. The biggest reason I am only giving 3 stars is the place is actually so disgustingly dirty. To the point I wonder if I should be scared to eat there. Pizza was decent and you can pile as many toppings as you like. I opted for sliced tomatoes, basil, mushrooms and fresh garlic. Good flavor but the crust surprisingly didn't have the chewy slightly crispy (does that make sense?) crust that wood fired pizzas tend to have. I had a spring mix salad with chicken, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms and tomatoes and Italian dressing. I loved the salad loaded with veggies. This is a solid fast food pizza joint. It isn't the highest quality pizza, but it is very inexpensive. I would pick this over a Little Caesar's or 5 Buck Pizza any day! I was tempted to give it 5 stars but those are reserved for non chain restaurants in my book. So MOD pizza earned all 4 stars possible. I went in because my boss gave me a gift card but I didn't know what to expect. The building is newer, clean and felt very open for a busy restaurant. As you walk in there is a large menu hanging on the wall. I discovered that those are basic templates but you are free to take anything off or add limitless toppings for no extra charge (In a similar vein as Subway but with pizza and much better). I ordered the "Mad Dog" but felt like ground beef was unnecessary so I replaced it with pesto, roasted corn, spicy peppers, green peppers and oregano. I expected the wait to be fairly long but was pleasantly surprised when my food was ready within 5-7 minutes. I imagine the turnaround is longer during peak business hours. The pizza itself came out very greasy which is fine for me but I did soak some of it up with a napkin before digging in. It was more flavorful than any fast food pizza I've ever had. That isn't a high bar but it really was made with quality ingredients and didn't sit heavily in my stomach. I have been here three times now and I enjoyed it all three times. I love how I can build my own pizza or choose one from their menu. I enjoy all the options they have for toppings and some I did not expect at all. I usually get the mini, it definitely feels me up. The mod isn't a bad size and perfect if I want leftovers. I did try one of my pizza's with the white sauce, wasn't a big fan due to the lack of flavor. But that is how white sauce tastes. Overall I like this place for pizza and they have a variety of toppings. I have yet to try their salads, but they do look delicious and huge! The workers are sweet they are great at making you feel welcomed and are quick with making your pizza. I don't know where else to get pizza like this that I actually like, that is closer than Jackson Hole or doesn't makes me drive to some downtown in-the-know hipster hole in the wall. There are so many options including and beyond the usual pepperoni, green pepper, olives and red sauce. There's white sauce, pesto a few more. There's almost 20 toppings like roasted broccoli, cilantro, tomatoes, jalapeños. There's like 6 or more different kinds of cheeses and finishing sauce you can have them drizzle on top. I got the mini (6") Dominic. It had white sauce, asiago, fresh chopped basil, red onion, sliced tomatoes, mild sausage. I enjoyed every single bite. My husband got the MOD (11")Mad Dog. It had mozzarella, pepperoni, mild sausage, ground beef, red sauce. He said he'd get it again. We got our 3 year old a 6" with random toppings she likes; broccoli, mozzarella, olives, pepperoni, green peppers. She enjoyed it as well! This place was packed and bustling. Yet we were still able to find a place to sit. We got through the long line very quickly and our pizzas were ready with 5 minutes of sitting down. As we went through the line I was watching seamless teamwork happen. They were communicating incredibly well. We got down to the end of the line and pulled a quick one. Yeah, we were those people. We decided we wanted to add garlic strips and ranch to our order. The orders from customers behind us were flooding down as we were standing there, but they were able to communicate to the front of the line and catch it all up with our order.
