My guy had just moved in and we celebrate moves with a pizza dinner. Because I like REWARDS, I used the app, and had everything ready, placed my order. Then I got a message that it didn't go through and to try again. Argh. I had JUST customized my vegan pizza and my guy's pizza. SO I input the order again and YAY it went through. When I got there, it was quiet (which REALLY?!?! Order this pizza is SO good!!) and I said I was picking up. The OG order was under my name but I put the new one under my guy. I said that and the girl came over and said SO...there are actually two orders for you. And I looked at her VERY quizzically. (as you might imagine!) I explained what happened and she said "I'm so sorry, that's actually the second time that's happened since yesterday so I need to make sure our owners know." I said "not sure why you're sorry, not your fault!" So she said "these are both VERY specific pizza orders I can't just resell it. Would it be fair if I charged you the higher dollar amount, and you can just take all 4?" I said "hold up. That's WAY more than fair. It's the literal Pizza Lottery." SO WONDERFUL service that I got to experience and she was luckily the manager as well so she took care of everything for me. I'm telling you this pizza is SO good. It's my favorite and service like that makes it an establishment I definitely want to support!!

I had the penne with meatballs and I'm happy to rate this 5-star delicious! The meatballs were a combo of ground meat and sausage. The sauce was rich, meaty and deeply cooked - no quick simmer here. My husband (who is an expert chicken Marsala taster) loved this dish as well. It's often served as a whole breast fillet alongside potatoes but this one came as medallions served over pasta, broccoli, mushrooms, and a yummy sauce. The service was friendly and just attentive enough and, though the front dining area is a bit basic, it was clean and comfortable for us. Adding this to our regular rotation. We'll be back.

Thick, luscious crust, fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, basil. We ordered from the car. THIS is what we got. Absolutely unrecognizable as compared to the picture online. Barely cooked cherry tomatoes? Not at all fresh mozzarella. Thin, greasy crust. It was terrible. We tried a fried ravioli, which was also greasy and not great. I was so disappointed. We are HUGE pizza fans and this is one of our top five worst pizzas. We had such high hopes.

Our last order consisted of the Golden Spike, the Depot, and their potato spikes. The crust on their pizza is fantastic -- I can honestly say the only pizza crust I like as much as this one is the cornmeal crust at Dove Vivi. Pizza Caboose's crust is like a cross between a traditional crust and deep dish pizza. They also have a great ratio of crust to sauce to toppings. If you go here, you MUST order the potato spikes. A lot of places say they have a "famous [dish]" but their spikes are legendary. Make sure you get ranch because it's also really great and compliments both the spikes and pizza well. Whether you dine in or dine out, Pizza Caboose is pretty unique. Their delivery car is actually a truck that is supposed to look like a caboose and the cabin keeps the pizza warm. If you dine in, you'll definitely get a wave of nostalgia. The interior of the place is a lot like a pizza place your parents would take you after a soccer game in the 90's. I mean that in the best way possible. Like others have noted, this isn't the cheapest pizza, but I do think the cost is justified.

We had made the 25 minute drive from West Linn because we heard the pizza was that good and when I say it did not disappoint, that's an understatement. The crust was flavorful, had the perfect texture, wasn't too "doughy" and the char from the wood fired oven gave it a nice smokiness. The other ingredients were solid as well...the cheese was smooth, the sauce was perfectly balanced and the small pepperonis had just a little more spice to them (we got (1) pepperoni and (1) pepperoni and ham). I hate to be "that guy" but we used to live in Brooklyn, NY (we loved Totonno's and Grimaldi's) and Massachusetts (we loved Regina), and we've struggled to get GREAT pizza in the 6 years we've been out here...now we have a go-to for slammin pies. I feel bad that this post doesn't include photos, but one of the pizzas didn't make it home and the other was attacked before I could get a good pic. Their ranch: Before we left, Randall asked if we wanted peppers, parmesan or ranch, and I declined. He suggested I not pass on their house ranch that they make themselves and I obliged. I'm glad I did. My wife, who is super picky at times, was shocked at how good the ranch was. She said "damn...that's surprisingly good, and I don't even like dill in my ranch, but that's excellent." Basically half of the pepperoni pizza was bathed in ranch and we wished we would have gotten a couple more. Pro Tip: Each pizza feeds 1.5-2 people but if you're hungry, you could probably house a whole pie without regret.

My order was through the Slice app. I ordered half Hawaiian/Meat (pepperoni, salami, sausage mushrooms). The dough was thin crust New York style. The sides were curled up which I found unique but the dough didn't hit it for me. I found the meat side a little salty. Maybe it was the sausage or salami. I also noticed that the mushrooms disintegrated and were barely noticeable. Some cheese looked like it wasn't melted properly. What I did find however fascinating was the ranch dressing that I requested on the side. It's really delicious. Tastes like homemade. There's no option on the app to select these sides for purchase so I requested in the special requests box and they gave me two of them. I should have requested thick crust but the app does not have this selection as well. Maybe giving them a call could have fixed that. I would probably recommend stopping by and eating in person next time instead of using the convenience of delivery which I paid a small fee on top of the tip as well.

Inside most of the stores, you'll find a Leonardi's Pizza, featuring value-priced take and bake, or baked in the store, pizzas and subs from a counter at the front of the store. They also sell bargain slices, tantamount to a quarter of a pie for $1.98. Elsewhere in Portland, you can buy up to $6 a slice, for a much smaller (and skimpier, in some places) slice o' pie. Couple it with a Shasta from the nearby vending machine, and you have a quick meal for about $2.25. Feed yourself or the kids on the long trip home from the market - tho I always recommend eating BEFORE grocery shopping. Another fun thing, elsewhere in the store (usually around the cheese case) you can find Leonardo's dough balls, if you are really feeling ambitious for the bake at home pizzeria experience. A slice is a slice, and this one measure up, both in heft and taste. It's a respectable product, and at $8.98 for a large whole pie, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better pizza value.
