I love subway style yums. Getting to pick all the things that you want in such a way that isn't too expensive and MOD does an excellent job. I can basically throw every veggie they have on a pizza and add all the other things and it is seriously delicious. I love the crust and that I can eat a whole pizza to myself and there is no judgement. PLUS - that pesto sauce is life. Dreams are made of good pizza. There are no added charges for toppings which is a real game changer and so exciting. The customer service is great. Groups are great, kids are well taken care of and take out is easy.

MOD Pizza is always reliably good to me. Also, they have non-dairy cheese (which means I can actually enjoy a pizza with cheese on it!) We came here pretty much on a whim, as we were near the mall and it smelled good from outside. The interior of every MOD is modern and cute, but I especially loved this one! The bar seating at the windows looks out into perfect people-watching territory. Anyway, the service was super fast and super friendly; my boyfriend han't been to a MOD in a while and they helped him out. The food was great, the drinks were great, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Spokane!

    Definitely surprise sausage!

If you have any sort of dietary restriction or food allergy, do not go to this location until they figure out proper food handling techniques. For the second time, I have ordered a pizza that I watched them make that had "surprise sausage." I am not sure how it is getting on the pizza, but this time it was a huge chunk of Italian sausage. I even asked them to use a clean cutter (and they did), yet the sausage was still there. There are all kinds of reasons that people don't want to eat something. Maybe it's a choice, maybe it's religious, maybe it's a health concern. If you are allergic to absolutely anything that they serve, do not go there. Don't count on watching them make it to assume that it won't end up on your pizza. The ingredients are mingled carelessly. I saw one employee throwing cheese on a pizza that ended up all over the vegetables. They shove their fingers in the meat then right into the vegetables. There were random chunks of leafy greens in the red sauce. The preparation area looks like a nightmare with random pieces of everything scattered all over. It makes me pause to wonder that if they are this gross where we can see it, what do they look like in the back? Yelp is right: Methinks not.

Great pizza, friendly staff and always clean. You build your pizza however you want so it's always good. Will continue to come back.

I don't see them getting anything wrong .. and hope I did not just jinx them :) No matter if they have a house full or if you are the only one present .. the Pizzas come out steaming and as good as you would expect. The only thing that I have been disappointed about is that for the past 2 visits .. they have not been keeping any roasted cauliflowers which I kinda miss .. but that has nothing to do with the pizza or taste or anything. Also, I am a big fan of their spicy Italian sausage topping .. it is so good that it is kinda must :)

The pizza that took me out!

Nice place good workers. Kind of like Subway but pizza. Workers seem well trained. Pizzas are good. Good butter.

Great food, better service. They make it in front of you and you add whatever toppings you want for a flat price.

I was in Spokane for a conference and stumbled upon Wooden City because it is on the Spokane "where…read moreto eat list". A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

The restaurant itself is located at the bank of the river in Spokane, so it is in a nice, appealing location. The service was actually a lot faster than I had expected and at first, that made me a little bit more weary. I liked that I was able to order a slice of any of the toppings and I could order a whole pizza and have half of one kind of topping and half as another kind of topping. It allowed me to try three different toppings. The Green Goddess was excellent and I highly recommend it. The Sausage Arugula had really well made homemade sausage and I would definitely get it again. I also got the chicken pesto which was flavourful and also amazing. The pizzas were Neopolitan style and were cooked very well. Prices however are pretty steep for pizza. I had one whole pizza (two different toppings) and two slices and was close to $50. Definitely not somewhere I would go regularly because of how expensive it is, but otherwise the food is great!
