Pickle Pizza

One of my favorite meals I have had in a long time. Every dish was wonderful and the service was excellent. I would recommend to anyone.

Service: The service here was great. I actually went two nights in a row and both times we were greeted with a smile and they were so kind! It just felt friendly! Atmosphere: This is a neat little space! The building is an old brick building, so it has a little bit of a rustic or vintage feel. They also have fresh plants around the restaurant, including fresh basil (which I LOVE!). The kitchen is also right in the middle of the restaurant, so you can see the cooking, the pizza oven, everything! It's really neat. My daughter loved it! Food: My daughter got a pepperoni pizza and loved it. I tried a piece and it was really tasty! My husband got the Moxie meatloaf and said it was the best meatloaf he had ever gotten from a restaurant (my homemade meatloaf remains his favorite ‍). The meatloaf is a mixture of ground, chuck, brisket, and pork. It's served with a demi glaze on top of mashed potatoes. It was scrumptious. I started with the French Onion soup. It was HOT HOT HOT (temperature), but once it cooled off enough to eat some it was SO SO yummy. My husband and I both loved it. I then got the burger which was also a mixture of ground, brisket, and chuck. It sounded delicious, but if fell flat for me. The burger patty itself wasn't made well and kind of fell apart in pieces when I tried to eat it. On top of that it didn't have much flavor - it really just tasted like plain ground beef. Kind of like, raw ground beef flavor when all you taste is meat. It wasn't great and I didn't eat it. I did like the fresh salad it came with though! We would love to go back. The cocktails were good, the service was great, and most of our meal was also delicious! Worth the trip!

Hands down the best food in Spokane! Farm to table feel. Quality, fresh ingredients and the most fantastic entrees. Great cocktail and wine selection. Service was amazing. Super enthusiastic and knowledgeable server who answered all of our questions. Small restaurant but upscale feel for a quiet and quaint space. Highly recommend the meatloaf and rotisserie chicken. The pizza looked fantastic but we didn't have room to order all the entrees.

Tonight's meeting for the Eat Meet club was at @outsiderpnw . Located in the Papillon building east of the Spokane Arena. The owners have created a vibrant yet cozy environment with the exposed wood oven. We had a very friendly server who was welcoming and accommodating. HIGHLY recommend the French Onion Soup... drooling as I type this. It is a smaller space so I would recommend a reservation. Overall a good experience, service was a tad slow but very friendly. . . French Onion Soup- jammed onions, calvados, cream sherry, bone broth Jarlsberg, country French bread Prosciutto pizza- San Marzano tomato, prosciutto, asiago, fresh basil, dressed arugula, country olives. Moxie Meatloaf- ground chuck, brisket, pork, garlic, parmesan, chipotle bbq sauce, mashed potatoes, demi glacé. The Paul- San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, pastrami, coppa, guanciale, pepperoni, goat horn peppers

Disappointing. Upon walking into the restaurant there was no sense of an identity. What kind of restaurant is this? The menu also lacks an identity. Pizza place? Hamburger place? Pizza and burgers were tasteless. We had a wonderful waitress. Prices on the web were significantly lower. Not a good beginning to our evening.

We had Valentine's dinner at Outsiders and were able to experience their 6 course set menu with wine pairings. Everything was incredibly delicious, fresh, and flavorful with combinations that we had never tried before. What a fun meal to eat too, every bite was exciting! Plating was beautiful, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. From the lighting, to the music, to the table scape and decor, we were continually impressed with our experience as the night went on. If you need a new place in Spokane to try, please go here!

My first time at The Outsider and it won't be my last!! The moment you enter the bright contemporary space you are greeted and welcomed in!! The open kitchen lets you see Chef Ian work his culinary magic!! I ordered the popular Pork Cubano sandwich with field greens salad and housemade pickles!! Absolutely astounding!! The pork so tender like butter and the pickles with just the right amount of tang!! I broke down and ordered dessert, chocolate layer cake that was not too sweet but just right, frosting was light and fluffy, cake was moist and light!! I will be back to try other delicious selections soon!!

Phenomenal food and probably the best pizza we've ever had! Service was great as well with excellent recommendations plus it's super cute and cozy inside.

French onion soup, phenomenal.

Came here for Restaurant Week, did not disappoint! Our server, Natalie I think was her name, was exceptional. The food fantastic! Can't wait to come back and try the pizza.

Watermelon salad

Chef Ian Wingate of Moxie and Table 13 fame is firing on all cylinders at his restaurant across the street from the Arena. The food is well done and presented with some of his Hawaiian influence in some of the dishes. The drinks are well blended by Natalie! Ambiance is upbeat with great music. Great service. Highly recommend.

Some of the best food in Spokane right now. Their pizza dough is legit - fermented for 3 days until it is tangy perfection.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

The atmosphere is really fun, there's things to keep the kids busy, TVs to keep the adult entertained, and just overall a fun environment. The service was fantastic. All the ladies that helped us out were amazing, referred to us by name which was a nice change. It was really great. We didn't wait too long for our food. It arrived fresh and hot and was delicious. We got fries, my daughter got a pepperoni bar pie (perfect for little eaters!!! And so cheap!!), our friends got the Honolulu hot Hawaiian pizza, we got Parmesan garlic wings, and the buffalo wings. Everything was so good. Their wings are the best wings in town, hands-down. And that pizza oh my God, I wish I had some more right now. We will definitely be going back.

The restaurant had a salad bar, large tables for big parties and a spacious dining area. There was a dedicated bar area, no minors allowed. There were lots of TVs playing sports, definitely a restaurant for any crowd. We ordered a large white pie and pepperoni pizza. The large pizza had 8 slices. My husband ordered a mug of blue moon. It took about half an hour to get the white pizza. We were almost done with the pizza, still waiting for the other one. My husband couldn't flag the server down for another blue moon for about 20 minutes. Another server got confused and tried to give another table our pepperoni pizza. The server took the pizza back to the kitchen and then came back to our table. It took almost an hour from arriving to get the second pizza. The white pie was overwhelmingly oily, too much cheese. The pizza was soggy and droopy because the cheese. The oil was dripping down our hands. The pepperoni pizza was better, classic and less oily/cheesy. The service was lackluster. There were only 2 servers, which was shocking for Sunday lunchtime. I would come back but not during the same time. The bill was $85. I didn't feel like tipping 20% after the service, but I did because I've worked in a restaurant before. I found it distasteful that there was an option on the menu, "round of beers for the kitchen $5." I tipped 20% that goes to the entire staff. I googled if that's a common menu thing at bars, it's not.

The restaurant itself is located at the bank of the river in Spokane, so it is in a nice, appealing location. The service was actually a lot faster than I had expected and at first, that made me a little bit more weary. I liked that I was able to order a slice of any of the toppings and I could order a whole pizza and have half of one kind of topping and half as another kind of topping. It allowed me to try three different toppings. The Green Goddess was excellent and I highly recommend it. The Sausage Arugula had really well made homemade sausage and I would definitely get it again. I also got the chicken pesto which was flavourful and also amazing. The pizzas were Neopolitan style and were cooked very well. Prices however are pretty steep for pizza. I had one whole pizza (two different toppings) and two slices and was close to $50. Definitely not somewhere I would go regularly because of how expensive it is, but otherwise the food is great!
