I love the concept of this pizza place. It's fun to be able to choose all the toppings for individual pizzas while looking at all the ingredients through a glass case. The ingredients taste good, and I like how thin the crust is. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. I think there needed to be more people working to make it run more smoothly. It seemed like the cashier was on double duty, also working to organize (or prepare?) the dough. The girl working the oven definitely needed help too since she was also boxing, cutting, and adding final toppings to pizzas. A couple of our pizzas ended up really burnt, the wait was kind of long, and the overall feel of the place was frenzied and chaotic. I think though that if Mod got a handle on service during rush hours, this would be a fantastic place for a low-key, casual meal. read more

This is definitely my go to pizza place in Napa. The place is clean, service friendly and the pizzas are delicious! I am always hesitant to make custom pizzas, just don't trust my choices ;) so usually go with one of their options. But this time around I decided to do custom and boy was it good! They are generous with their toppings so their mod pizza will fill you up! I love thin crust pizza, and these guys have it hands down. So glad to have these guys here! read more

Almost one year later I decided to give them a second chance since my first visit was opening week. Crap product and crap service still. As far as toppings you are certainly paying for what you get. I don't understand why this place is so popular. I won't be coming back. Delicious thin crust pizza that is a great GREAT value. We also enjoyed how you build your own pizza without extra cost! The pizza is a thin crust pizza with decent toppings fired quickly in a hot pizza oven. We also had a great local beer Session IPA & the nameless chocolate cake afterwards. Pizza was mixed. The Mod Pizza size (the medium size) in big letters and with red around it is the thing to get, as that gets cooked correctly and it comes out tasting ok. The mini pizza is the one to avoid, as that literally taste like a water cracker with your toppings on top, which you can get at Trader Joe's for a dollar and loads of water crackers, so don't get the mini. It could be because it is small that it's hard to cook right and what not, but my mini pizza was terrible. My friend's regular size pizza turned out much better. Anyways, the taste of it was ok, it's nothing special, and frankly, it isn't that great. I would come back to get a regular size pizza since it isn't that expensive, but I've had much better pizza elsewhere. It's quick and not too expensive. For what it is, I suppose it is ok, but it wasn't memorable. There are much better pizza in the valley, although usually a reservation and shelling out much more money is also on the cards. read more

**UPDATED** Someone reached out to me with an apology and a $20 gift card. They did not ask me to update my review, I am doing this willingly. After coming back, much has improved. The employees were friendlier and all long haired guys had baseball caps on. Food still good. I will come back. Bad service, primarily due to the fact that the same guy making our pizzas was also making several called in orders as well. The line got backed up and he was taking his frustration out on the customers. An elderly lady was asking him about the custom salads and she could sense his frustration from his snappy response so she said "I'll just order a Caesar salad if it makes it easier for you!" It should not be that way. Maybe the other employees could make the called in orders, not the same guy making ready to order orders. *Some of the guys had long unkept hair without a covering. Especially the guy making our pizza. It was pulled back but obviously not good enough if the guy kept having to wipe it away from his face! Made me think it would probably get into the food. If you're ever handling food your hair should be covered! Im pretty sure that's a food code violation or something! They're also inconsistent with the placement and amount of toppings they put on. Kinda scattered with more topping on one side. My anchovies were still stuck together, etc. Besides the bad service, the taste was good. Just like pieology. Get their lemonade! Came here on a Sunday night around 8 and the place was packed! The line was quite long, but luckily, it moved pretty quickly. However, based on previous reviews, it seems like long lines are the norm here. I was a little surprised to see that none of the people making pizzas had hair nets on. One guy kept using his arm to push his hair out of his face. Was a bit of a turn off to see that. Besides that, the pizza was really good! Didn't take too long to cook either. Nice thin crust. They also make yummy cinnamon twists with several different sauces for dipping. Prices are super reasonable! Two pizzas, cinnamon twists, and two drinks for $20! Can't beat that! Will definitely return when we feel like casual on the go pizza. Definitely not a gourmet pizza place though, more like a fast food pizza option. read more

Today was my 3rd visit. Each time I've come in the staff has been extremely nice, friendly and just provided plain old great service. The price can't be beat and the food is great for a fast casual type of place. Best of of all they have gluten free options which is a huge plus for my family with a little one hat can't have gluten. This place is awesome. The concept is simple but different from any other pizza place out there. Either select a custom pizza that Mod created or make your own. They have a bunch of different sauces and toppings. And the price is the same, no matter how many toppings you put on it. They use a brick oven and since the crust is thin, it only takes minutes to cook. Yummy! They also have salads which are really good. I tried the Caesar and it was amazing. Came here a few weeks ago, maybe a week or so after opening. I have tried a similar place in the past, Blaze pizza, which was fantastic so I was excited to have a similar place in town. I wasn't too impressed with the pizza I got. It worked exactly the same as Blaze but I feel that MODS ingredients weren't on the same level of quality as Blaze. The sausage they use is reminiscent of Domino's, and the spicy sausage doesn't have a hint of heat. You do get your pizza fast which is great and the price isn't bad especially since you can add whatever you want and it stays the same. The bigger size pizza I feel isn't worth it because it's just double crust with sauce and cheese squished between. That pizza I happened to get on accident since the girl apparently misheard me. I may return in the future to try it again once it's been around a bit longer but as of now, I'm not interested. read more

Decided to finally try and was okay. Ordered through Doordash and delivery was okay. The order was right. However, not the best pizza I've ever had. The pizza was on the greasier side and a little cold, but maybe 'cause I ordered it online. Also, didn't finish the whole thing, which makes me sad. I definitely would choose another place or the pizza company I've worked for which is very similar to Mod. Again, would not go or order again. MOD Pizza reminds me of &Pizza back home (locations only in DC, MD, NY, PA, and VA) where you create your own pizza - kind of like the 'Subway' for pizza. Apparently there are a number of MODs in the Washington metropolitan area, but this MOD in Napa is the first one I've tried. MOD offers Artisan style pizza and has over 30 toppings to choose from. That's way too many choices for me, so I kept it simple and had a 'Jasper' which is an 11" pie with mozzarella, mushrooms, spicy Italian sausage, and red sauce. Washing it down with a root beer and coupled with their MOD music - David Bowie, Rolling Stones, and The Who and I was pretty happy. Long wait but totally worth it! Pizza and ingredients are hot and fresh and the service is so good! Everyone was friendly, no one seemed stressed about the growing line and still greeted everyone with a smile. We ordered pizza and salads, and nothing bad to say about any of it. I started with one of the pizzas that was listed on the menu, but was able to customize it to my liking by adding additional toppings. Also, found out that Tuesday is their "locals" night with $2 beer! Sweet!!! Tara helped us out when we had some questions, and she was extremely wonderful and provided great customer service. I had read all the other prior reviews before heading over, so I was cautiously optimistic. It was busy because A) it's Napa's shiny new toy and B) it was lunch time. I walked in at 12:17 and walked out with my food at 12:25. It IS basically like Subway for pizza. They have some recipe options or you can build your own. I chose to build my own for my first time. Sausage, mushroom, and black olive and an order of cinnamon strips because I love cinnamon stuff. The customer service was outstanding and I am a tough critic. The people making the pizzas were super nice and cheerful. Then, while I was waiting, the staff working the dining room were very friendly, excusing themselves every time they walked past me (I was in their way). The four rather than five stars are for two things. First, the pizza prep place was pretty messy, especially the floor. They were busy and they weren't making my pizza on the floor, so it's kind of a minor thing. Second, the pizza is good. Not really good, not great, it's good. Honestly, it's like Subway. Good, you can get better elsewhere for more money and less convenance, but it is not bad by any means. Now, the cinnamon strips with cinnamon glaze- so good! The glaze? I could put that one the box and eat it, it's that good. I ordered a mini-pizza, cinnamon strips, and a fountain drink for a little over $11. I like that they have 3 different sizes of pizza. I got the Mini but honestly it was a little too mini. Plus its thin crust so it's not very filling. My friend got the next size up which was the MOD and that looked way more appetizing and appealing. Both pizzas were good but the mini was just too small and thin for me. So unless you are not that hungry do not order the mini!! The atmosphere was nice, casual, family friendly. It would be nice if they had outdoor seating though. read more
