I had a groovy coupon for a free pizza here so I tried this place out. Unfortunately I ordered online and then couldn't redeem the coupon when I got there because the order was already processed, so don't do what I did if you have a coupon. The pizza was pretty tasty, thin crust and any combination of toppings you want. I was less satisfied with the "deluxe" salad. It was a combo of watery, yellow hued lettuce and soft, wet chicken bits, a few olives, and a lump of salami slices stuck together. So unappetizing. It didn't seem like anyone who worked there was a day over 18, but service was quick and friendly. Not a bad spot to grab a quick bite, just stick to the pizza. read more

We ate at Mod Pizza on 8/13/17. We were looking for a quick bite and having been to similar places, we thought this would be a good place to try. The staff was not overly friendly and the service was slow. In addition, some of them were wearing gloves and some were not. We ordered our pizza and when we got it, one pizza was not ours, which we didn't realize until we were halfway through it. The other pizza had a hair in it. We brought back the pizza with the hair and the staff member who took it back was very nice. He said he would remake it right away. I saw him talking to another staff member about it and she gave him a hard time. However, they didn't give me a hard time and they did remake it quickly. Looking at other reviews, hair in the pizza seems to be an ongoing issue. The good news is that we thought the crust on the pizza was rather tasty. The additional bad news is that one of us got heartburn within minutes of having a slice of the pizza. While we like other places like this in Asheville, unfortunately, we won't be coming back to Mod, which is a shame because it is so close to UNC Asheville. read more

MOD Pizza is the fast food of pizza in a good way. We've been twice now. Like other reviews state, it's a make your own pizza with lots of yummy topping choices starting with the sauces. The crust is super thin and reminded me of a saltine cracker. Your pizza is done in five minutes, so MOD is great for a quick meal and especially great for kids. Just picked up dinner from Mod. As a long time loyal customer I was less than enthused to have such a negative experience tonight. While the service was slightly slower than usual and a few mistakes were made with my order, this wasn't what put such a poor taste in my mouth. Not sure if I was speaking with the owner or manager however whoever she was was quite rude and displayed terrible customer service. I ordered to go and while I only ordered water asked for a to go cup. She refused to give me a to go cup without me having to pay $2 extra even though I was only getting water. While this may seem like a small issue, great managers go above and beyond to attract and keep customers and her negative demeanor really turned me off to this location in general. Overall very negative experience, hoping to never deal with her again and that others have a better experience than I did! read more

Our group of 7 was here last week for dinner on a Sunday night. Included were 3 kids ranging in age of 2-13. I got the seasonal pizza. My only gripe is that I asked if the arugula could be thrown on top after it was baked and they said yes but then when I got my pizza it had been baked with the arugula already in it. Also the seasonal comes with a balsamic fig glaze which was omitted so I had to go back and ask for that. Not a huge issue but annoying just the same because by the time I got my glaze the pizza had cooled down quite a bit. Other than that food and service were great. read more

Unfortunately, when we got there apparently the owners were there and a young girl who is very nice and sweet.. while standing there I was observing the miserable body and facial language that both the owners had SPECIFICALLY THE WIFE... MY God her attitude and demeanor were so negative and unprofessional that I asked my husband to take me out of there asap. As I honestly was almost cursed her out. If these 2 individuals are not happy they need to stay FAR FAR AWAY from their business so loyal customers such as my husband could go and actually enjoy being there, and I not get so disgusted by their demeanor that we had to think about where we could go and give someone else our business. I had a limited lunch break recently and needed to find a restaurant that would serve me quickly. I generally avoid chain restaurants but was intrigued by the idea of getting artisan style pizza in a timely manner for a reasonable price. So I skeptically walked into MOD. My skepticism faded as I was greeted warmly by a couple employees who patiently explained to me the process of ordering a pizza at their facility. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you can order as many toppings as you'd like for no additional charge...AS MANY AS YOU'D LIKE!!! I didn't hold back at all but loaded up my pie with veggies galore plus garbanzo beans, cilantro and vegan cheese. The toppings were all flavorful and fresh. They cooked my pie in their oven for a few minutes and it came out just the right amount of crispy (they have thin crust pizzas). Their standard individual pie size is larger than I would normally eat for lunch but at least I had some leftovers. And as an added bonus, they also serve various local brews. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza and I'm sure I will be stopping at MOD again in the foreseeable future. read more

Had my first visit to MOD Pizza yesterday. So glad I went! The pizza was excellent and I was impressed with the selection of fresh toppings including arugula, which is always a winner in my book! I also like all of the different cheese choices. The crust was really flavorful and super crisp!! My husband had a salad and I had a few bites of it. It was one of the best salads I've tasted. We shared a pitcher of a local craft beer, which was a great value for the price, compared to buying individual glasses. The beer was really cold and went down easy!! Not yet ready for prime time. They have been open only a couple weeks, but they are a chain, so should have been better prepared. The pizza was good, very good. Thin, crisp crust, baked quickly in a high temperature oven. Good selection of high quality ingredients, if somewhat spare in quantity. But... The staff were undertrained. Of our four pizza orders, three ended up with the wrong ingredients. The atmosphere was modern fast food: High wattage lighting, hard seats, annoying music, and bus your own trays on the way out. Not designed for lingering. They do offer beer and wine but, unfortunately, not yet. You should call ahead. The local college crowd will love it. It's pretty good, pretty cheap, and open later than most. Many topping selections; like Chipotles, just walk down the line and point to the ingredients you want. But there is a 75% chance that some will not end up on your pizza. They also have salads. read more

OK here we go. I am not usually over critical about my food as long as I get my money's worth and the quality is good for the price, so I went to MOD Pizza for the first time. Actually ordered online, same difference. Anyhow....my gf and I ordered a build your own 11" with the regular crust and several toppings, garlic cheese bread and two small salads with cinnamon bread and chocolate sauce. First the salads.....they were awesome. Fresh made fresh ingredients the dressings were tasty. Perfect!!!! Next the cheese bread, great cheese what killed it was the bread sadly under cooked. I have had better at pizza hut (gack!!!). Sorry but a fail on the bread. Ok the main course the pizza which smelled amazing toppings were fresh and very good.....the crust again, way under cooked actually it was still white it like the bread didn't even brown. Sad because the rest of the pizza was great. You can see the pattern here for the cinnamon bread same as the rest under cooked did you have a rookie cooking at the time. Oh well if I was dining in I would have sent it back but it was carryout and I am not wasting my time or gas to drive back. I will go back again but I have to say I spent money on food I could have gotten at a larger chain that would be more consistent. MOD Pizza was a nice surprise. I've been there several times. They pay attention to allergies and have gluten free crust and will use clean utensils to protect those with allergies. You can choose from a nice selection of toppings. The pizzas have been very good and at a good price. I would love to see them add almond cheese as a choice. We recently celebrated our bachelorette weekend in Asheville, we had a group of 15 women and happened to stop in at MOD pizza on our way back to our cabin! We had a phenomenal experience, the customer service was top notch. They handled our huge group with ease and kindness! The general manager also paid for me and my fiancée to eat! The generosity displayed was heart warming. Thank you so much for making our bachelorette weekend wonderful. I also forgot to mention the most important part, the food was DELICIOUS! First visit today. The pizza was so delicious, very affordable, the service was super friendly and quite helpful. My only complaint is that the store faces west and the sun shines right in those sweet employees' eyes. It looked very hot and uncomfortable. The pizza is thin, but you get any toppings you want for about $8, which is a good deal. What turned me off is the "red sauce" they put on it. It's spicy, so not the regular tomato sauce you'd expect on a pizza. At first I thought maybe some chilly sauce got on it accidentally, but then the second time I got a pizza it also tasted spicy. If I wanted spicy food, I wouldn't go for pizza! read more
