First time eating at this joint. This would have been a 5 star but my son got a sweet tea and switch to a soda and we got charged for both. This was a first especially since they cost the same and both had free refills. Everything ordered was delicious. They did have gluten free options which is nice. The specialty drinks were good and the different beer options. We sat outside and loved the vibe. Would definitely recommend.

We love Mellow Mushrooms food! While in our hometown we got the New Nirvana Chicken Dip! It was delicious and we thought it was better than the Pigeon Forge island location! We also got the New Super pepperoni pizza and the House Special pizza to share! Wow that Super pepperoni pizza is the bomb!!!! Service at the Asheville location is top notch always! The decor is the best I ever seen in any Mellow Mushroom so it's a fun chill spot for hanging drinking beer and eating pizza with friends!!!

Kosmic Karma GF (w/ vegan cheese and ribeye)

I got this again for my father's birthday and this time it was to go. It was a GF Kosmic Karma (consisting of red sauce, feta, basil leaves, sliced tomatoes and a basil pesto swirl) with vegan cheese instead of mozzarella and shaved ribeye. Service and ambiance was appreciated because I didn't have to wait too long for it when I showed up. The flavors worked well together, but the crust was thin and not that crispy, and the cheese in the center was not melted because the toppings were pretty piled up. Overall, though, an enjoyable pie.

YUMMY CRUST! While it's a chain restaurant, I've always loved the crust at Mellow Mushroom! This location in Asheville did a great job supporting the local community during the aftermath of hurricane Helene. That alone gives it extra stars in my book. I went again recently to support them while they still have a limited menu (due to water supply issues in town) and the pizza was still absolutely delicious!!! Come support this awesome location, nestled downtown with a cute patio.

This is the 2nd time my family and I stopped here to eat as the last time was about 3 years ago while visiting family in NC. Customer service here, just like 3 year's ago was great. Our waitress was friendly and prompt and our food options were delicious. Highly recommend adding this as a stop for good eats!!

It's been a few years since I've been here. Daughter graduated a couple of years ago. Food was good and the service was okay. Prices have gone up a lot. $18.00 for a small (4 slice) pizza is crazy. It was crowded, but there were several open tables and the wait time was minimal.

Serve was cool (filo) and knew the menu well. The mushroom pizza with temph was perfect for me (being vegan) My husband enjoyed the wings. We had two holiday drinks that were on point!

Awesome place and excellent food. Great location and close to everything. If you're looking for the best service in town, ask for Sophia (she also goes by Fia when she's feelin sassy). Highly recommend this place to my friends and we are excited to visit again.

Perfect as usual. Love the pizza and spinach dip. Was pretty busy for a Monday night in February. Keylan the server was awesome. Will be back again.

The Holy Shiitake pizza (olive oil and garlic base, shaved cheese and 3 types of mushrooms, on whole wheat crust) is excellent, though the pizzas are a little pricey. Decent selection of brews.

Food was amazing. Honestly the best place in North Carolina area. I personally ordered the steak and cheese calzone it was so good. Our wateriest was the best. Restart was very well managed it was very busy and we only had to wait 5 minutes

Buffalo Chicken Pizza with ranch swirl

The pizza is very good and the portion size is great. We both got the size small and it's 4 large pizza slices on a plate. The servers are pretty friends. The atmosphere is beautiful outside and inside. There is nice music playing, but It's not overwhelmingly loud which is good.

Don't be tricked into thinking there's a strong mushroom theme to the food, it's just hippy vibes. Service was fine, but man your paying a lot for a rather small pizza. Most pizzas do not have mushrooms on them. The pizza it's self was decent, but not worth the cost. if the price wasn't so high I could see returning.

I was satisfied with the pizza but it wasn't anything to really rave over. The salad was big - mostly chopped lettuce (love that it was chopped already) topped with some cheese, olives, green peppers and tomato slices. I don't eat my salads soaked in dressing so there was enough dressing for me but it felt like the dressing cup wasn't very full if you do like a wet salad. Breadsticks were good and airy. Lots of cheese on top. I preferred the pizza over the breadsticks over the 2 visits I had 3 types of slices. For speciality slices they top a slice of cheese with the toppings then bake it so the toppings aren't baked down into the cheese. Still good. When I lived here years ago, we used this spot as a quick bite when we were out brewery hopping or pre gaming for a show. Huge inside with plenty of seating and some games. Service, i waited at the counter for about 5 minutes before someone was off the phone and took my order. Maybe after a few beers things would taste different but like i said before each their own.

The Roman squares are made of a thick dough that looks like focaccia but is both lighter and crispier. They come in single 5" by 7" rectangles (spuntino, $8-$10), 5" by 13" pies (mezzo, $15-$19), or 9" x 13" party size portions (tutto, $30-$38). While you can build your own custom pizza, the default options include a Calabrian with pepper jam, a funghi & charred tomato, a sfincione with breadcrumb topping, a patate with potato cream, and a rotating special. A few dips, an arugula salad, cauliflower cacio pepe, and meatballs are also available. Wanting a few slices to commemorate Pi Day, my wife and I shared a Calabrian, a funghi & charred tomato, and a daily special. Ordering was easy, and Terra Nova's "green industrial" vibe (check out that moss wall) made for interesting ambiance. Our pizza was not cheap, but it was very satisfying, and Mission uses high-quality ingredients. The Calabrian offered a good combination of sweet and spicy while the funghi & charred tomato delivered creamy (ricotta) and smoky. The crust was done perfectly: crisp without being overly charred. There are many places in Asheville where you can grab a pizza and a beer, but none can offer you the same experience that Mission does. Unless you're a New York-style pizza purist, you owe it to yourself to give Mission a try.

I like the style of pizza and they have some interesting specialty pizzas. I just didn't love how the pizza we had only had a very small amount of cheese. It was also super messy, the pizza had breadcrumbs on top, which were good, but they went everywhere all over the table. We also tried the meatballs, which were good but nothing special. I am all about being eco friendly but the taste of the wooden fork ruined the taste of the meatball (not a fan of the popsicle stick type flavor when eating).

Almost every beer on the menu is a split batch fermented with two different yeast strains to showcase the resulting differences. It's a great concept, even if you're not into brewing. I had a house salad and some dilly beans for lunch. The house salad was fresh and extremely well balanced. I'm glad they had something vegetable centric available. The dilly beans were good, but quite a bit for a single human. They're probably the type of thing you would want to split among friends. I actually showed up for an event in the evening where they served pizza using dough fermented with one of their yeast strains. That was truly excellent. Nicely balanced, not over the top, with a deeply flavorful crust. If you're in Asheville, I would consider this a must visit destination.

So we walked into Luminosa underdressed, absolutely soaking wet, and looking like we had just been rescued from a shipwreck. This is a really nice restaurant, so at this point I was pretty convinced either we weren't getting seated or my friends were going to spend the rest of their marriage talking about the dinner I ruined. I explained the situation to the staff and they could not have handled it better. No judgment, no making us feel out of place, nothing but an insane level of hospitality from the second we walked in. They even sent out a few dishes on the house. Our server Riley was phenomenal. Riley knew the menu inside and out, gave us all the information we needed without overexplaining everything, and never steered us wrong once. We basically put our dinner in Riley's hands, and that was probably the biggest reason the meal turned out as well as it did. And the food was fucking incredible. Not "we're drunk on a wedding weekend and everything tastes good" incredible. Every single one of us said it was one of the best meals we've ever had. And I don't say that because my culinary experience is limited to Applebee's and the Cheesecake Factory. I went to probably half the restaurants on the Michelin Guide while I was in Asheville, live in Atlanta where I've eaten at plenty of Michelin-recognized restaurants, and have been fortunate enough to eat at Michelin restaurants outside the US. Luminosa was still one of the best meals I've had anywhere. I walked in thinking I had completely screwed up dinner and walked out looking like a genius for picking the restaurant. I will be taking full credit for that and giving none to the tornado or Riley.

I still dream of this dish - I can't believe how delicious it was! For dessert we had the panna cotta and pistachio gelato. The panna cotta was FANTASTIC, I could eat 2 by myself. The pistachio gelato was interesting... the texture was great but it was incredibly savory which I wasn't expecting. The service was phenomenal. I do think that instead of bringing everything out at once, the dishes should come out when they're done so that the temperature doesn't change as it's waiting for other dishes. Would come back!
