Best K dogs in town. Whenever we need our fix, this is our go to place! I love the entirety of this place - the decor, the layout, the cleanliness; to name a few. I love that it's also closely located to the Mohawk bike trail, because it really allows for us to stop in for a sweet treat whenever we're out there riding our bikes. I came to Mochido with a small group of friends. We ordered a variety of drinks and some food from Sarap. I got the cookie butter latte and was disappointed in the lack of flavor. This is my third time coming and getting a drink and being disappointed in my drink.. It's either too watery, too sweet, or it tastes like milk. They have a blind box cup, which is really cool. If I end up coming back to try something else, I would try this out! It's so refreshing to eat in such a positive environment with my kids. We tried all the new donut flavors of the year. This place is like a little oasis and such a breath of fresh air! They have a very large menu so take your time to look it over! The worker was super sweet helping me through ordering! The mochi donuts were really fresh and tasty and the hot latte I got honestly was better than 90% of the lattes I've had from Starbucks in the last few years!! Tried Mochido for the first time and wow, so delicious. When you first walk in, this shop has the "cute vibes" aesthetic. There are a lot of colors and vibrant decorations which is so cool. Their wall is also very photographable if you are an Instagrammer and want to find places around Bakersfield that have cute backdrops. The main event are their donuts. Yum! The texture is unique and is more dense than the typical airy donut. This is honestly what makes these donuts stand out. The flavors are also very rich. I tried the strawberry, fruity, pebbles, pistachio, and Nutella. My favorite was definitely the Nutella, but I will be back to try the other flavors! The Korean corn dog is also on the menu. You can pick between hotdog, cheese, or half-and-half as the bad. It's completely customizable with toppings such as hot Cheetos, mayo, etc. If you are a Boba fan, they have that as well. A lot of the flavors are on the sweeter side though. Recommend the ube cloud! If you're craving a sweet treat, come check them out! Dropped my teenage daughter here for a K-pop club meetup. The store was definitely cute and airy. The decorative wall was definitely eye-catching and IG-worthy and the main focus of the space. It's giving me natural vibes with the moss and flower motif. Of course, I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee. They also have a variety of flavored milk and fruit teas. There are also a good selection of toppings from boba to jellies. Quite a few servers here but would help with the line with installation of those self-ordering kiosks that you see in other boba shops. The pros: The ambiance here is good. A nice, fashionable place to sit down and have a drink and a snack. The donuts and drinks themselves are also not bad. I like the pastries of the day to create variety. I also like their large menu list as well. It's good to know that I can get a Korean Corn down the street. The guys who work here are also very sweet and know their menu fairly well. I also really like that this place closes as late as it does. Not a lot of places on that strip tend to open late so it's nice to have the option. The Cons: If some of you were wondering, the Mochido pastries themselves are not gluten free. The only gluten items they have are most of the drinks. Not the worst thing, but something to consider if you were hoping they only used rice flour. They tend to run out of items fast. If you go later in the day, most of their stuff tends to be gone. They do not have an option to control the sugar levels in their drinks. Again, not the worst thing. But as someone with blood sugar issues, it's something that I always love as an option. Parking in this area is always a pain. This place is good. I have seen mochi donuts and Korean dogs on Yelp but I didn't live anywhere close to a place that serves them. Finally, a place opens 45 minutes from us. Place is super cute great IG photo ops if that's your thing. Customer service was great too. The part that went downhill for us was the Korean dogs. Hubby got half cheese, half hot dog with ramen on the outside. My daughter got the mozzarella with potatoes. Son had the corn dog with hot Cheetos. My hubby right away said the oil or something isn't right. We had nothing to compare these to. So they ate most of the dogs and we left. We also got 6 Mochi donuts. Mixed reviews on them. Again, never had them before so new to us. The three family members had bobas too. ( all three said they weren't the best) So, the three of the family members that ate the Korean dogs and boba had bubble guts and frequent bathroom runs. I felt great and did not eat or drink any of it. Not sure if we will return. *It shows that they are closed on Tuesdays. I have reported it to Yelp it has not been changed yet. So I've actually gone here twice!! First visit: we ordered two corn dogs, both half sausage and half cheese, with potato toppings! We also ordered a cookies and cream mochi donut to try it since we've never had mochi donuts before. They were so yummy!! Well braved the new place after only being open for 3 days. We arrived 1:15 and there was probably about 20 plus people inside. The menu isn't real big however I did hear they will be adding more items later!!! I ordered the Hotdog with Potatoes for a topping. When they took our order they warned us It could take up to 30 minutes to get our order. Which we decided to go ahead and wait it out. The Thai Tea came out pretty quick and truthfully it only took about 15 minutes to get our food. The inside is a bit on the small side for be prepared to stand while waiting on your meal. Luckily there was a couple nearing the finish of their meal and offered to let us sit while we were waiting. The man informed us they waited about 35 minutes and when they got their meal on of the dogs was made incorrectly. He wasn't happy with their experience. Our experience was much different. The owner was explaining to everyone some of reasons it was taking so long. Most of the staff was their first job which is fine and understandable. Kudos for giving these you guys people their first job. Back to my dog. The batter isn't your typical corndog batter. It was a lot lighter and had a great crunch. The dog was super juicy when I bit into it. This had chunks of potatoes all over it and were super tasty. I topped the dog with the spicy mayo which added a great kick to the flavors. In comparison to other reviews, we too were there on the same day as some, but later in the afternoon and all I can say is you will NEVER find a restaurant who just opened 3 days prior running at 100%. Yes, they were a little chaotic but you could tell they were busting their butts to do their best and accommodate everyone. It's a young staff learning something new. If you don't know what you want from the minute you walk in the door, grab one of the many menus laying out on the counters and take a few to look it over. From the moment they popped that straw in the sealed top and then took their first sip, you see the satisfaction in their smile. We were a little intimidated to try something different so we stuck with our usual Thai Tea Boba. Delicious. We also ordered two Mochi dogs. A regular with potato topping and a half-n-half. Half hotdog, half mozzarella cheese with a potato topping. When the girl taking our order said it would be about a 30 minute wait we figured "Oh well! We've never had one so we'll wait." Was not even 15 mins and our order was ready. Worth it too. The crunchy rice dough is better than your average corn dog drenched in cornmeal. Both were tasty!! We also got four mochi donuts. They were going fast! Those came out immediately after ordering. We got a lemon cheesecake, a raspberry, a carrot cake, and a blueberry glaze. We opted to wait to eat them later in the evening and I'm glad we did. We tried them all. I absolutely will be back for more. Not your ordinary donut. I thought they were light, super fluffy and tasted just like what we ordered. The rice dough mixture is what I like. Not heavy like a typical donut. The raspberry was my favorite. The owner came out to check on people and was so apologetic for how things were going. We told him we were fine and that we completely understood. He was super nice and professional. He wanted his customers happy. The place is cute. Decorated with that little bit of Japanese flair. The staff is friendly. Parking sucks, but it's always sucked in that little strip mall. Stopped into this place to check it out. I've never had a Korean hotdog ever so I was interested. The place is cute on the inside and the staff is very friendly and they take their time explaining the menu and how it works. If you've never had a Korean hotdog before, you walk in and choose to order a hotdog, either with a hotdog, or sausage, or the other option is cheese, like a mozzarella cheese stick. They have a variety of toppings to choose from, and we chose two hotdogs, one with potatoes, and the other plain. Both hotdogs lightly dusted with sugar after they were fried. There are other options that the hotdog can be dusted in such as hot Cheetos. When you we got our hotdogs they were so hot so be careful! There is the option of adding mustard, ketchup, mayo, or a spicy mayo. The spicy mayo was sweeter than spicy mayo you might get at a Japanese restaurant. The shop also offers a variety of milk teas and drinks with boba. We ordered the most popular milk tea, which is the brown sugar milk tea. The place also has mochi donuts, which is the majority of their offerings and seemed to be popular. The Verdict The hotdogs were okay; I liked the hotdog and the crunch, however it lacked taste. This may not be a fair assessment since I do not have anything to compare it to and maybe I just don't know any better. The brown sugar milk tea, was okay. I've definitely had better at other local tea houses. The taste was not like your traditional milk teas and was less strong, and the boba was a tad hard to chew. My little family and I went there for some of their Mochi donuts. The kiddos enjoyed their mochi donuts and tried the strawberry and chocolate flavor. I've had the privilege of trying their flavors the past few weeks and they never disappoint. The earlier you go the better, they do tend to sell out of the best Mochinuts as the day goes on. But even if you're not in the mood for a mochinut they have delicious Kdogs!! And their spicy mayo is elite Their menu is extensive, I still have so much left to try. We ordered a mocha iced coffee that is decent, the brown sugar espresso, a peach and passionfruit iced tea and two Korean corn dogs (potato and flamin hot Cheetos). The corn dogs are okay, the potato one is way better than the Cheeto one because it tasted fresher and much less greasy. The iced coffees would have been great but the brown sugar espresso did not specify that it was made with oatmilk on the menu.
