Taro & Black Sesame
Stephanie H.

Mochi donuts are something I don't typically like to spurge on (since I can make something similar myself), so it's a once in a while treat for me. Mochi Dough shares the space with Bober Tea. Service was fine. You order/pay at kiosk then tell the employee what flavors you want. I got the box of 6 for $15.00. I ordered the taro, black sesame, and churro. The taro is my personal favorite flavor. I like to stick them in the microwave right before I eat them so they're soft & chewy. Not my most favorite dessert to eat, but they look pretty & do satisfy a craving for something sweet.

The cutest little mochi donuts shop! Great concept and design as well. It's popular with families and students especially. We bought one of each flavor and they were all good in their own way. Yum! Definitely come here for sweet photo ops.

Is dirty, grimy floors

Place needs maintenance, stinks horrible, from some time ago this place is decaying, I remember when they opened, it was cleaned and shiny, would be good for to bring it back to the good days, products are still good

Mochi Dough's appearance is incredibly Instagram-worthy, with its pink aesthetic and swings. We decided to try their donuts, and while they were decent overall, there was one particular donut that I really didn't enjoy--the pb&j donut. The grape flavor on the donut reminded me of artificial grape candies, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The other donuts were enjoyable, although I've had better mochi donuts elsewhere. Given its proximity, I might return to Mochi Dough, but I'd prefer exploring other mochi donut options.

Okay, first off, I've been looking for a good Mochi doughnut shop for awhile since I moved to Sacramento from Vacaville. Leg me tell you! I found it, there are a couple other places I have to check out. I ordered online, grabbed these and left because I didn't want to wait. They aresooooo good! Chewy sweet but not too sweet. And my kiddo got the milk tea with extra fried Boba. He loved it! The Ube is my fave!!! I can't wait to try the tea! I will update when I do!

WHY WE WENT HERE: - dessert after lunch THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in the plaza off of 65th St and Stockton Blvd (same plaza as SF Supermarket Sacramento) in between Pizza Guys and Economy Mattress - this business is also shared with Bober Tea THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - VERY cute, clean, festive THE MENU: - mochi dough [the flavors of the day (12-11-2021) were choco pebbles, peppermint bark, salted caramel, black sesame, funnel cake, taro, and white chocolate with gold leaf] - chizu series (drinks topped with cheese cream) - fresh fruit tea (premium jasmine green tea with real fresh fruit) - brown sugar series (coated in housemade brown sugar syrup) - Vietnamese iced coffee - milk tea (non-dairy based drinks) - latte series (made with real dairy) - tea series WHAT WE ORDERED: - mochi donuts (peppermint bark, salted caramel, black sesame, funnel cake, taro, and white chocolate with gold leaf) - Chizu KungFu - Brown Sugar Roasted Oolong THE TASTE: - the mochi donuts were soft and not overly sweet; the white chocolate on the salted caramel mochi donut overpowered the salted caramel (couldn't taste the salted caramel) - our drinks were sweet and refreshing CUSTOMER SERVICE: - warm and welcoming

Taro and glazed

The donuts are really good but pricey. On Tuesdays, they have a discount where you can get one donuts for $1. They're flavors change often, especially with holidays. The Taro is my favorite one. This place can also get very busy on weekends. This shop is shared with Bober Tea.

They have some indoor and outdoor seating and it's a great date night spot or quick stop to pick up a drink and a bite. On my latest visit I popped in with some friends and we ordered some of their desserts and a loaf of bread. I took home a chocolate mousse cake and it was both beautiful and delicious. Whenever I visit the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are consistently delicious and fresh.

I dont have photos of what I got for valentines day but remmeber them being ok but nothing mind-blowing Maybe its just the DOCO one that sucks but I went to give them another chance the day before mother's day and sorely regretted it. I got the matcha croissant ive been hearing about, the new blueberry cream croissant and the mango passionfruit entremet. The Croissants were a huge flop. Blueberry had barely enough filling inside-the cream itself was tasty but croissant was rough in texture and not flaky. Matcha was a bit more flaky and had more filling-I wouldn't say GENEROUS amount as some have said but maybe I just got a bad one. The cream was too subtle -it was more like vanilla with a hint of matcha. The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Honestly I should have just gotten one pastry to try in one day as they are pricey-i paid 31 not including the tip fot my pastries, and in this economy one cannot waste that much on disappointing sweet treats lol

The moment you walk in, the retro 1950s diner ambience immediately transports you back to classic Americana dessert culture. They've apparently been serving Sacramento for over 37 years! - Hot Fudge Sundae -- made with Gunther's vanilla & chocolate ice cream, topped with whipped cream, pralines, and a candied cherry; beautifully presented with warm hot fudge drizzled all over - Lemon Raspberry Cake -- moist sponge cake layered with lemon, raspberry, and whipped cream; balanced sweetness with buttercream-coated sides The red booth seating and vintage Americana decor really complete the nostalgic vibe. Service was friendly and quick, and the overall ambience was cozy, retro, and diner-themed. Rick's Dessert Diner definitely feels one-of-a-kind, I'll have to stop by again next time I'm passing through Sacramento.

Rick's was the only place open late that had actual desserts. I mainly ate their cakes. They looked amazing. But I really did not enjoy them. Too dry. Just not good, compared to other bakeries in town. Over the years, Rick's remained a Sacramento staple, and when they opened up their new location in Midtown, the dessert community welcomed them back and embraced their sweet offerings, bigger space, and late night hours. I never went til just a couple weeks ago. Around 9pm on a Friday night I was craving banana cream pie and the husband wanted cherry pie. On Yelp search, Rick's came up as the top choice that was open. So we went and stood in the long line. The place was crowded and loud. Lively and busy vibe. Line moved at a good pace and the staff helping were nice but hurried. So we took our lil pies to go. We both liked our chosen pies. Now I know what to order if I go back to Rick's. Pies over cakes. Every time.

Café de Olla is a classic Mexican coffee that offers a well-balanced blend of coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar, often served with heavy cream to give you a comforting and energizing boost. Traditionally, it's even served at funerals as families celebrate the passing of a loved one into a better life. It's meant to be warm, rich, and meaningful. However, the café's version was far from that. The counter staff overpromised their Café de Olla, but it tasted terrible. When I asked to switch to a mocha because of how bad the coffee was, their friendly smile quickly disappeared. They didn't offer a replacement or try to make it right. Instead, I had to pay again for the mocha just to finish the coffee break with my wife. Very disappointing experience. It was an easy decision not to come back. If you're going to sell poor-quality coffee, at least stand behind it and fix the problem instead of charging customers twice. Promotes well in facebook- HELL NO not again.
