Interesting situation at this location as it is 2 spare businesses within one shop and both appear to be franchises. It is advertised and signage for both businesses, sharing space and staff. So I will use and address these products together and post each business' Yelp page. We were in Longmont for one of my medical appointments and I knew firm a longtime Yelp fried that there were Michi donuts to be had here and her picture looked like something I wanted to try in the traditionally Japanese treat. I get out this way only a few times a year. WhenI mapped it on Google I found the 2 separate names. It's a cute place and deviated in lots of pink, very trendy these days. We chose our mochi donuts and shown how to order and lay at the kiosks on the wall. We ordered taro, matcha and black sesame. The black sesame was our favorite for both of us though I liked the other two flavors better than my husband did. We both ordered drinks but different ones. I ordered the pear tea with Brien sugar jelly and my husband ordered a green tea with boba. Mine had reduced sugar. The cups looked big but were more ice than fluid than I am used to in other shops in Boulder. But they were both very tasty and complimented the donuts very well. The tables were clean and predominantly empty as most customers were doing take out. The staff was very friendly and helpful but it was unclear to me if the donuts are actually made there, by then. The flavored frostings had a very thin layer and the flavors were lighter than a local shop in the neighboring town where we had some being made in a live kitchen and being served freshly made before our eyes. These were still good but the other place was stellar. Neither are close to home so we will only get to each when in their towns. If you are nearby and looking for a treat,stop in and enjoy. It's a pack of calories but sometimes needed. It's unclear to me if the ownership is franchised from both companies but the products make could partners. read more

The mochi donuts are amazing! I got taro, black sesame, Oreo mint flavors, and gave it to coworkers a month ago. They all loved it! Service was quick. You order at the kiosk first, then the employee grabs it. It has a vibe like any asian cafe I've been to. read more

So grateful this place is here! I haven't had a mochi donut in years, not since my last trip to Japan at a Mister Donut. The decor here is very cute, so are the boxes! The donuts we ordered were very tasty. Great texture (mochi donuts are light, but also chewy). We arrived shortly after opening and some of our order was still warm. Ordering is a bit unorthodox. Don't order at the counter. Order at the touchscreens, and wait for your name to be called. We didn't realize this and very clearly threw off one of the staff members behind the counter when we asked if we could order a half dozen, ha. Definitely recommend! Came here on opening day! These Mochi donuts are perfect! A little crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. They'll rotate flavors, but we got a butterfly strawberry garden (with edible butterflies!), biscotti cookie, taro, choco pebbles, milky fruity pebbles, and matcha. My favorite was the taro! Also got a taro milk tea and a strawberry matcha latte and it was soooo good! Order and pay on either the 2 wall mounted screens. Add extra shots of espresso in your latte, or add multiple boxes of Mochi donuts to share with your neighbors. Note: no milk alternatives available and you can only customize your box of donuts when you order in person, not online. After you order donuts from the screen, wait in line until they call your name and you can customize your donuts when it's your turn. Tons of cute pink photo ops. Love this place! read more

I was so excited when I found out Mochi Dough was coming to Longmont! I tried mochi donuts in California about a year ago and could not get enough of them. They are lighter, chewy, and not at all cakey like regular donuts. The donut rings pull apart into individual round treats and are so delicious!! They are fun as well as tasty! I have tried a bunch of the flavors, and they are all good. My favorite is the Matcha tea one. The tea and coffee drinks are beautifully made by a very nice front counter staff. Everything I've tried has been good and I've visited several times. The automated ordering machines are fun to use and let you pick out exactly what you want in your drink order. They just opened up and I think once they get more signage up, people will really find them. Right now it's kind of a hidden Longmont secret. read more

If you've never had mochi or mochi donuts, they are different than a regular donut. The reviews knocking these donuts, just because people didn't know what to expect, are ridiculous. What is mochi? Japanese folklore says that mochi is made by rabbits on the moon. But in reality it's a rice cake made from a glutinous rice. No, not our American interpretation of crunchy rice cake, but more of a gummy, gluey kind of creation. All this to say I didn't know what to expect when having one. Would it be light and fluffy like a Krispy Kreme donut or thick and mealy like a cake donut. I tried going opening weekend around 3 PM, and by then they were totally out of donuts. So I gave them some time to get the opening kinks out and returned at 4 PM on a Tuesday. So the interior is spotless and has little places where you can take your photo/pose with your donuts. But if you come at 4 pm you will be posing with no-chi donuts. They had 11 donuts left, of which only three flavor choices. But hey, I like eclectic flavors so let's taste one. Also, you can only buy a quantity of one if you also buy a drink. Ok...I'm not committing to three donuts yet, how about a drink? So you order from a kiosk, and not from a person and the kiosk is well, confusing. I tried to order a boba. What kind of additions do I want? Do I want stir fried boba balls? No, I just want normal boba balls, but that's not an option. The kiosk also asks me for a tip. Do I want to leave 15, 20 or 25% to the nameless machine taking my order in a way that I can't get what I want. But ok, I'm feeling generous, here's your tip. Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. So my boba comes with no boba pearls because I order it wrong, and the person in front of me ordered the last donut of one of the three flavors, leaving me with one of two eclectic choices. I get the matcha tea. I hear matcha is full of antioxidants. I pull off one of the donut pearls, and. Meh. It's more like a cake donut, if that's what you're looking for. I'm not really a fan of the cake style donuts, too thick for my taste, but if you like the cake style I still don't think you'll like these. The donut was greasy and tasted of dirty oil. I took two bites, saved the rest to share, and as each person took a pearl of the donut off, each gave the same disappointing reaction. The boba tea that I got which was decidedly not a boba tea, provided the same underwhelming reaction. I ordered 50% sweetness, glad not 100% because it was sickeningly, cloyingly sweet. I hate to write such an underwhelming review and that's why I'm giving them 3 stars which is definitely generous compared to how I actually feel about the experience. I know Longmont needs interesting restaurants and food choices. I just hope they can make some constructive changes to make it a place people would like to return to again and again. The ordering process is really stupid, and I was in here recently, was the only customer, put in my order and none of the 3 employees working noticed me. It was really strange. I had to stand at the counter and wait for someone to notice me. Also, it is such a bummer that you can't just order 1 donut. Minimum is 3. However, they are REALLY good. read more
