Worst service ever! Took 6 calls to book an appointment (disconnects, hangups) - finally had to go through their corporate number. Booked the appointment, then called to reschedule an additional 2 extra days out in order to arrange for a dropoff/ride. We showed up as planned -- and then were told the appointment was scheduled for 2 days prior! Also told that they texted me on that day. I've checked all my texts -- none from them... I purchased a used van with a wheelchair lift. The lift made a horrible squeak when deployed, so I brought it to Mobility Works. When I got there, the unit quit working. I rented a car from this location for two weeks and was extremely satisfied. I chose a vehicle without a front passenger seat, specially designed for accessibility to an electric wheelchair for non-transferable individuals. I was genuinely impressed. The car was new, fully automated; with just the push of a button, all doors and the ramp extended automatically. Everything functioned perfectly, the fuel efficiency was great, and it had an excellent air conditioning system. Victoria took my reservation three months in advance, and AnnMarie, who handed over the vehicle, was both charming and professional. They explained everything clearly to me, and returning the car was hassle-free. A huge thanks for providing the opportunity for those with limited mobility to rent such a vehicle and spend quality time traveling with family. This company for me, is the definition of customer service. My wife and I had a few problems with the van we purchased. Mobility Works did everything in their power to take care of it with the local Chrysler dealership. This Van was shipped from another mobility works location, just so you know, this was not in our dealerships local stock. After three unsuccessful attempts over a 3 month period to repair electrical issues with the van at the Chrysler dealer, mobility works had me pick out a new one. The new van we chose is 2 years newer with the same mileage and thousands of dollars in extra mobility equipment that was already installed in the van. They gave us the new van at no extra charge! Not one penny! George, the owner of this location, and Geoffrey, our salesman, are two of the nicest people you could ever meet! I had my Honda Odyssey Ramp Van repaired at Mobility Works, Van Nuys facility. The service repair department at Mobility Works diagnosed a failing starter motor on my Honda Odyssey. Carlos Martinez, the Service Manager, found a new starter motor for my Honda Odyssey. He dispatched a driver to pick up the starter motor at a Honda Parts facility. Carlos and Tony, the Service Advisor, coordinated with their technician, Sergio, to repair the Van as soon as the part arrived at the shop. The starter motor was replaced and the Van was repaired the same day. Everyone that I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable. My Van was repaired the same day I brought it in. Mobility Works is Outstanding. I highly recommend, others who have a disability Van or other device, to use Mobility Works for any service issues they might have. Another failed attempt in fixing my van. They had it for 3 days in what supposed to be a minor job but check engine light turned in again after 2 days. What kind of training did technicians get. They just basically put a band aid and wait for an opportunity to charge consumers at a higher price. When u pick up the the car the service rep talks to you rather than technician. The rep basically is like an automated machine. Just repeat what ever they are told. I am bringing my van first to Toyota dealer before bringing it there. Mobility works should be ashamed as they take advantage of families/individuals who truly rely on this specialized vehicle. I am not done complaining Mobility Works. read more

I came here to have the lift on my 2002 van fixed. Frankly, I was very concerned when I saw the reviews on YELP. I considered just leaving. I talked to Raphael when I arrived and told him that I was concerned about the bad reviews. I decided to give them a shot because I don't know where else to go. I had them diagnose the issue. The parts needed were obsolete because the lift was installed in 2003. His mechanic was able to get it working with no extra charge which I really appreciated. They even fixed another piece at no charge. Frankly, the parts are just ridiculously expensive. I was lucky to make my lift functional again. I've been coming to this store for 12 years. Practically every mobility need for my truck has been handled at this location. Through that time they've gone through a few management and workforce changes. The technicians are great and the employees are friendly. BUT that's not the most important thing for this type of business. It's efficiency, cost & management. Mobility works corporate is truly a poorly structured company with zero communication amongst locations, zero care for getting better at handling repeatable issues and slow process across the board for repairs and parts. Left a message for parts manager 2 weeks ago, still no return call and was warned "he's just too busy to take your call!" Even after leaving a voicemail and a message at front desk. I think the problem is they know they own an almost monopoly in this market and people with this niche needs can't really go anywhere else so customers suffer and the business could care less. The front desk guy even agreed with me that their business drags their feet and takes their sweet time to help / order parts etc. it's known. Luckily I just found a local company (DSI) down the street that does similar work on a smaller scale and were able to help me DAY OF, without needing to wait 2+ weeks to order parts I KNOW I NEED & scheduling a service appt for $160 to tell me what I already know + another appointment & $320 to install the parts. Fascinating what quality service can do and change. DSI will be getting majority of my business moving forward. I will say- I don't even think it's just this mobility works that is poorly ran- their Pasadena location seems to have exact same issues. Quite sad. My father recently became paralyzed and I helped my parents to find a wheelchair modified van. Mobility Works in Van Nuys came up on several disability sites so I contacted them. If I could give this business 10 stars, I would. Their Mobility Consultant, Tim Rosso, reached out to us right away for a needs assessment appointment. Tim was great but I would like to give a special shout-out to their General Manager, George Nohra. He absolutely went above and beyond. I am sure I had more than 5 phone calls to him totalling over 2 hours.  Never once did he rush me off the phone. When he said he would call back, or do something for me, he always did. He was so patient getting all the information from me about my dad and answering all of my questions. George, along with Tim, figured out the best van for my dad. He then Facetimed with me and my parents showing us the van. George was able to get my parents the best possible deal, and then Tim delivered it to my parents and showed them how to use it. Within I think 5 days we went from being completely overwhelmed knowing nothing about van conversions to having one delivered to my parents doorstep. And it's really nice! This has been a very difficult time for us, yet George and Tim really made things a lot better. We so look forward to the freedom that having the van will allow us. Thank you!!!!! read more

Emailed with Jonathan about hand controls that I have already previously purchased through them years ago but was told they can't install hand controls that are taken off by someone else that's not them so you guys don't trust your mechanics on installing hand controls that are used or what. instead I was offered brand new hand controls for 1800-2800 Just don't get it I was able to install used hand controls at a different location for 900 bucks now these people can't do it "company policy" just say you wana take not hundreds from people but try upselling into thousands with something I have doesn't add up **AVOIF THIS PLACE AT ALL TIMES** not worth it unless you have money to blow and don't care about spending thousands when it could be done wayyy lower nah I'm good just move on to the next. read more

We had to rent a few vans from this place and they made everything so easy. First off, Lilit in rentals has the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. She always helped me get a rental for my Dad's appointments and when I would show up to get it, the van was all clean and ready to go. The vans are very nice and comfortable too! Hmm.. I recommend going to another vehicle modification location for all your handicap needs. Initially, Robert took good care of me but he is no longer working at that location. The subsequent people that have been handing my account have been difficult to get in contact with. They do not return calls. Forgetful in ordering the parts I needed for my lift. Bill was actually argumentative and really not customer oriented. Strange actions from a company that says they hold customer service in such high regards. I think the company in general is okay, but they lack good quality people. It seems they really only care about making a buck and then when your done paying, they are not so nice once they have the money in hand. Watch out for this place. Cons: Did not order part until I called several times asking for status. Forgot to tell me about the tune up service they offer for free. Rude on phone. Never seem to return a call. Always apologizing for not calling me on every phone call. Sales wants to charge me for things I do not need. Over priced. Pro: Techs seem professional. Wiring seems nicely done. I'm not going back and recommend folks with disabilities to look elsewhere for all vehicle mods for other services due to extreme hassle with sales and service managers. read more

Initially, Mobility Works appears to have the perfect conditions available to its customers; however, like anything that seems too good to be true, it usually ends up to be just that! While the staff is overly courteous and the waiting area is replete with snacks and beverages (all for Free, as Keith will remind you) you are immediately invited into their web of deceit. As a first time buyer of a modified vehicle, I opted to have it serviced at Mobility Works in Van Nuys, since that's where the previous owner had it serviced. Sadly, I don't know a whole lot about cars, and I realized after nearly $2,000 in repairs over the span of a year, that is the PERFECT CUSTOMER to MobilityWorks. Nonetheless, on (what became) my last visit there, I decided to take my van in for it's 3K mile check up. MobilityWorks was having "a SPECIAL!" Ever the ignoramus, I took their bate and made an appointment. After a couple hours of wait time, I was advised to replace the water pump, as well as the spark plugs and ignition wires, or I could find myself in "a dangerous" situation, because there was a slow "leak" in the pump. The charge, over $850.00 I informed Keith that I would have to do it another time, especially since I had not seen any hint of anything leaking under my car. I would know this, since I am the only one that uses my parking spot at home and there are no signs of any stains or water leakage. Instead, I decided to contact a company I was referred to by a friend - I went to that website and I selected the services that I would need to have performed on my vehicle. I was pretty shocked (to say the least) when the quote for the identical services that Keith quoted me for was around 70% cheaper! and I didn't even have to bring my van to them...they would come to me! I immediately informed Keith that I had received my best quote from a reputable auto repair for much less, and his response was classic! Because "I was a loyal customer," Keith said that he would match that price! So folks, let's make this perfectly clear, the quote from Keith at MobilityWorks was instantly cut in half after I told him about another, far less expensive auto repair, all because I was a "Loyal Customer." Well, that was the only true statement coming from MobilityWorks..that I was a LOYAL CUSTOMER. Obviously at that point I opted NOT to use Mobility Works and instead, I made the appointment with the other mechanic. What happened next is why I am writing this review - TO SAVE YOU FROM BEING RIPPED OFF by the crooks at Mobility Works. The OTHER mechanic came out and got under the car, removing this thing and that thing and he was about to replace the pump when he told me, "The pump is fine. I can replace it if you want, but it's not necessary." Additionally, the spark plugs and ignition wire were perfectly fine, although the mechanic recommended that I change the spark plugs at 60K miles (I'm at 47K now)~ To make matters even worse, my tires were at 28,31,30 and 28 when they should have been at 38! Which begs the question, "What did the mechanic at MobilityWorks actually do for my 3K Mile Check up other than to provide a diagnosis that was NOT only unnecessary, but likely intended to swindle more cash out of my pocket? Keith was right when he said that I should get the repairs or I could find myself in "a dangerous position!" That dangerous position would have been to stay with MobilityWorks. Thankfully for me, the OTHER mechanic was an honest person. He even provided photos for me to share with MobilityWorks. His invoice: $70.00. I was going to report MobilityWorks to the Better Business Bureau, but I decided that it wasn't worth the energy. I had already wasted enough of my time on these criminals. Lucky for them! Shortly after this debacle, a Regional Service Manager from Mobility Works named Jeff, contact me to do damage control; however, he only tempted me further to pick up the phone and call the Better Business Bureau. Honestly, they should fire that guy! Actually, they should all be fired because it's one big racket going on there. This "Jeff" character actually argued his defense (interrupting me constantly instead of listening to my concerns.) A lesson in Customer Service Jeff: Listen to the customer and at least pretend that you understand their grievance. I'm sure Jeff was mostly calling because of the fact that prior to my finding out that these people were crooks, I was in discussions with their SALES department to purchase a 60K vehicle. The sad part of this story is that, should I need actual repairs on the ramp of this van, my options are few because Mobility Works basically dominates this market. I had such great hopes when I began this journey with them...but before you drink their cool-aid, BE WARY of the consequences! read more

If I could give a more negative review I would. My husband and I visited your facility and I was very disappointed in the response of your personnel. First, you came up to my husband and I was ignored at first, and I am the disabled person. (You know the one that you are supposed to be marketing your products to!) There was only one person in the showroom helping people and so we needed to wait. We were eventually helped and we were at first discouraged from getting what we were thinking about. When you are in a sales position and the customer knows what they want because they have already checked out what is available online you shouldn't tell your customer that they don't want that. read more

Disappointing experience, and I haven't even bought anything from here! Bit of background first: I recently bought a new minivan and was interested in adding something to make it easier to transport my wife's scooter - Chrysler offer a rebate scheme for mobility add-ons, which led me to this company. I contacted them via their website, and was contacted by someone in their head office within a few minutes. An appointment was set up for this location for today (4/28) at 11 AM to explore/discuss options. Jonathan from this location left me a message on Thursday 4/26 - unfortunately, I didn't get the message until after they'd closed. I did speak with someone on Friday, who indicated that they would have him call me back: I'm still waiting. But, I digress..... So, we turned up for the appointment to be met with a handwritten sign on the door "Out Back". Now, it didn't look like it had been turned into a steakhouse, so I checked "Out Back". Twice. All the doors were closed, no signs of life. The mailman turned up, rang the bell, got no response and left. A gentleman who was picking up a van also turned up, rang the bell and got no answer. I rang the bell, and a woman (Nancy) finally appeared. She had a couple of customers inside with her and had locked the door as she was the only one there. Not that I really blame her for that: describing the area where they're located as a ghetto would, frankly, be insulting to ghettos. She took care of the two women she was with, got the elderly gent his van, and finally sat down with us shortly after 12. This was an 11 AM appointment, which Nancy was evidently unaware of! Remember Jonathan? Apparently he was supposed to be seeing us, but was at some sort of exhibition/show. Nancy was pleasant and helpful, went over the available options, but was clearly overwhelmed. Summary: this appears to be an amateur and badly organised operation. If I have an 11 AM appointment, I expect to be at least able to walk in and be greeted, especially if my disabled wife, who is the very reason for being there in the first place, is kept waiting. Tell you what, Mobility Works: Don't call me, and I won't call you. You seem to be more like "Mobility Doesn't Work". I'll find someone who has respect for their potential customers and their time. read more

Gradon, Nannette, and Jared from Mobility Works have been great in providing quality customer service and dependability when we have any problems with the vans we purchased. This review is for the overall satisfaction that I have had as a customer since we started doing business with Mobility Works. When we purchased a gurney van, Gradon and Nannette came all the way down to Orange County to take the van back up to Van Nuys to install the secure hook for our gurney at the end of the van. They delivered it back the same day and checked everything that was needed. A couple of months later, the lift of the van had a problem folding so I took to Van Nuys to get it serviced. Jared pleasantly and rapidly took care of me while I waited in their clean office. It only took about an hour and a half to fix the problem. Turned out to be the pump adjustment and luckily it was under warranty so we didn't have to pay anything. I unexpectedly purchased a new car and needed hand controls installed ASAP. I called mobility works and spoke with Matt who immediately put me at ease by explaining my options as well as being very sympathetic to my urgent need. Matt put me in touch with Jessica who helped me schedule a fitting as well as an immediate installation. The installation itself was better than anything I expected, most of the controls were buried in the dash and created no restrictive movements under the steering column. As if all of this wasn't enough Jessica and Matt even assisted me in dropping off my old vehicle the day I picked up my new car from their service dept. My husband was driving down to LA and my hand controls broke while he was driving (he wasn't using them) the bar that hits the gas broke off and wedged in the break so he couldn't stop. I tried to purchase a hand control for my cars together with the installation from them TWICE . But both of times I found their quote high plus they add bunch of bs to their quota like certification fee. Totally unnecessary since the manufacturer already certifies the equipment. Its like going to Best Buy and they up-sale an extended warranty yet you don't have an opinion to say no here. They just add it in by telling you " incase you get into the accident and its a state requirement" which is a TOTAL nonsense. The requirement is for the manufacturer to obtain a clearance permitting the sale of such devise They charge $120+ for a gas pedal gird. Are you kidding me. This is the worst experience we have ever had! It's a total scam!!! Take your business elsewhere. My husband and I were looking to install some hand controls in his car so we found this place online and decided to give them a call. We spoke to Jonathan and asked about how does it work to get hand controls installed in our car. He gave us very little information except that they had several systems and it would be about $1700. Before giving us any other information he told us we had to go get a "driving assessment" that just happened to cost $500. He even had he's own guy Frank that he sent us to. We payed the $500 did the assessment and got the certificate and called Jonathan back to get the controls installed. Once we called back Jonathan then informed us that it was going to be close to $4000 and he had to butcher our car and remove the airbag to put in the controls!!!!! He did not say any of this before we payed his guy the $500, if we would have known that we would have never considered this. When we told Jonathan why he didn't tell us this before we paid the $500, he's reply was just I don't know. We asked how were we gonna get our money back and he said it's not he's problem because he's not the one that charged it. This place is a total scam!!!! Avoid at all cost!!! My father recently purchase a 2001 ford wind star from Mobility works in 2010 for $27,000. I'm not sure why they would sell such a old van at such a high price to customers,but My father as sad as it may seem was an extremely desperate old man looking to regain his freedom, so he would have paid anything. Since then my father has passed away. Well I have to off load this van. I have gotten decent offers, but the worse offer was from Mobility Work in Van Nuys, which is ironic because they are the ones that sold it my father in the first place. I spoke to this man that worked there and told him I live in Riverside, I attempted to email him pictures, but he argued that he would have to see it in person. So I drive from Riverside to Van Nuys a two hour drive and he offers me only $3500 for the same vehicle my father purchased in 2010 FOR $27,000. I know cars go down in value over time, but why the great disparity? Then he has the nerve to tell me a sob story about how the company doesn't have enough money, for him to offer me a better price Right you have a huge odsessy in the showroom going for about 35,000 and you are saying you don't have any money B.S. He also Tells me the model of my father's van is outdated, it should have been outdated in 2010 when my desperate father came looking for a van, and they sold this to him for $27,000. Things don't change that fast within 3 years. 3 years ago this vehicle should have been considered old and outdated. So why would they sell this to my father...it hurts me, because I always thought what Mobility works do was honorable, because they are giving people their lives back and that is wonderful, but I must say I'm very disappointed with the fact they sold my father an old car that 3 years later I can't sell it. read more

I've been going here for repairs and sales for many years. They are friendly and professional. There is no pressure to buy. The building is very accessible. The waiting room comfortable and clean and has a nice tv and free wi-fi. The repair shop does quality work. They explain things very well. On one occasion the work could not be finished that day so they provided a wheelchair van and driver to get me home. If you need some repairs ask for Keith.
