These guys aren't in Granada hills but rather they are on Brand at the Mission Hills/San Fernando…read moreborder. In my opinion, this place preys on the handicapped. It is very difficult to find mobility equipment, especially if you are impaired. This places prices are ridiculous, ($150.00 per hour for labor and high prices on parts). Of course they make this seem lower by posting a labor charge of $35.00... read the fine print... It's $35.00 per QUARTER hour (15 minutes). They pretend that all of their work is "specialty", it isn't. To install a lift on a vehicle can be done by ANY mechanic. Wiring can be done at ANY stereo shop and most mechanics. (Most lifts are 2 or three wire installations, not exactly rocket science) These guys seem to know, if your sitting in front of them in a wheelchair, you aren't likely to be able to easily go someplace else to get something installed. They have you bent over the proverbial barrel. The best way to protect yourself from a high-priced operation run by a guy (Harold) who has an immensely over-inflated sense of "expertise" (aka high-pressure-sales techniques because you're an idiot and he knows everything) is to avoid this place like the plague. Even if this place is more convenient (which it really isn't) it is well worth the savings in time, money and aggravation to go someplace else.

I feel like "Harold" tells the truth about what's going on with my lift, which is the only business I've needed to do, thus far. They take care of my needs in a timely manner. This husband and wife team really seem to care. It never ceases to amaze me how much it costs to continue to be mobile and independent with a disability but with Ability Advantage I don't feel they're taking more $$ than what's fair. Thank you Ability Advantage for always being there to get me on the road again. Faith R.

Having finally admitted we are getting older, we decided to have a stairlift installed. A good…read morefriend had used Gamburd to install her stairlift, so we called them. Israel was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He used FaceTime to get all the details: measurements, number of stairs, etc., and sent us a very reasonable estimate while we were still online. The great part is that he was able to schedule installation in less than a week. German Ceja came this morning, and was done in less than three hours. German was great! He went over all the necessary items, like how to ride the stairlift (no placing your full weight on the footrest, how to charge the stairlift, etc.) If anyone is thinking of putting in a stairlift, please call Gamburd. They are the absolute best.

We purchased 2 chair lifts from Lifeway Mobility and paid a hefty $50k due to a knee injury and…read moredoctor's recommendations. At the time, it seemed like the only option having just bought a stacked home with 2 flights of stairs. We waited about 6 months for them to be built and installed. About a year later, one of them started to malfunction. We called several times, often with difficulty getting through. We spent time with customer service diligently trouble shooting, cleaning as recommended and requesting service. 4 times, the same repair person was sent out, was there for about 15 minutes and then said he'd the unit was fixed and that we needed to do a better job cleaning the unit. But almost as soon as he'd leave, the unit would start beeping loudly again. We were told that the unit was out of warranty and so needed to pay for the servicing. First we were asked to pay $400 and then they company agreed to let us pay $200. Today, we had a different technician come out who found that there was something actually wrong with some of the parts which would need replacing - luckily these were under the 2 year parts warranty. Hopefully this will fix it for good. When you pay this much for a product, it shouldn't break down that quickly - especially since we barely use the lift. What's clear is that we're having to pay for faulty equipment and installation. If you need to purchase chair lifts, make sure to go with a company that has warranty of at least 5 years. This is ridiculous. * Wanted to respond to the "business manager's" response below: We were told that there is a lifetime warranty on parts - that's one of the reasons we felt confident to make the purchase. However, there was no mention that this was only for outdoor units. This should be clarified at the time of purchase - especially since most people have indoor units. You can imagine our shock to find out that the warranty is actually only one year for service and 2 years for parts.
