I came in for an oil change and was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of service and the attention to detail of The Auto Clinic. Prices are extremely reasonable. I was charged around $131.00 for service A (oil change) on my Mercedes GLC SUV. Service was quick! About 1 hour. I decided to get cozy in the seating area while waiting for my car. I was able to get work done as they have Wi-Fi access for customers. The Keurig coffee and filtered water is a nice touch that makes waiting around for car repairs/maintenance much more pleasant! They informed me of the next service I will need on my car, as well as a cost breakdown for each line item. I appreciate that they go the extra mile to prepare customers for the financial cost of upcoming services. I will definitely come back to the The Auto Clinic for all my car service needs. I always take my European cars for service and maintenance to the original AutoClinic of Irvine. They had changed the ownership three times since I began frequenting there for their good service. The first BMW I owned was 545i-Eight Cylinder 4.4 L V8 with 328 hp and was an untamable beast. It leaked oil but was a fun car to drive. I literally lived at Crevier BMW and should have had my head examined for not following through the Lemon Law to get the car out of my life. However, I am a sentimental fool and loved the ride. It costed me probably a month of my life for going to the repair shop over and over again. Crevier was never able to fix anything. They just maintained my car and washed it every time I had a new problem. Once the extended warranty ran out, I started going to AutoClinic of Irvine in the iconic European Auto Repair shop in the Construction Circle tucked way back in next to Green Sky Body Shop. The Auto Clinic doesn't even have a sign out, so that only Internet customers or repeat customers know where it is. Due to the constant burning of trash by the Irvine Waste Management located just next to it, the cars are always covered with dust and ashes. However, the service you get and the lowest prices of anywhere in Irvine for service rank this place very highly in my opinion. The guys here at Auto Clinic was able to fix my BMW's oil leak. He actually took down the entire engine and found the source of the oil leak and fixed it. I was able to sell my car after 15 years of driving at $3,500 due to the fantastic repair that they did. This place was one of the worst experiences in my life. This business is purely fraud on every level and I would stay far away from here. I've filed a complaint with the following state of California government agencies and recommend you do the same if you have ever used this scam company - Bureau of Automotive Repair - State Attorney general's office - Orange County district attorney Their corporate name is Mobilex automotives worst part was when dealing with the state bureau is that they seemed to know Anna and this auto repair shop by name as if they're a known scam operation. They misled with quotes that jumped up 40-50% not even 1-2 hours into having my car. They told me at 5:30 when I was going to go pick up my car that they would have to have my car "overnight" because they didn't pay their workers overtime. Clearly she did this maliciously because the next day there was now more repairs that made my car "unsafe" to drive and she wouldn't let me get my car. I've been going to Anna for years, and have trusted her with multiple cars: a Mercedes, BMW, and Infiniti. She's responsive, thorough, and mobilex does reliable work. I've unfortunately used them a lot (which is because of my cars, not them!), and found that it's typically not a surprise. When I do my regular services, they'll document and tell me what to look out for in the upcoming year or mileage limit, which is nice because I know how to gauge future visits. I've also been there times, where she didn't charge me (eg resetting and testing check engine light). Its nice to know a mechanic isn't nickel and diming you. The quickest response is by text, and Anna is typically very responsive if you ask a question or have a request. I'll be back. read more

I am writing a review as I took my Levante here with a "check engine" light. Anna said the shocks were bad and she replaced two shocks in my car for $2800. The car was still driving badly when I left- she said we just needed to get it rebalanced at Maserati. When I took it to the Maserati dealer they said it wasn't the shocks that needed fixing, as these shocks normally last far longer- they fixed something else ($3500) and then the car drove fine. Maserati basically states that the repair she did was questionable and unnecessary. The Bureau of Automotive Repair (Ed Hughes/ Drpt of Consumer Affairs) also reviewed the work and concurred. We ended up having to pay Maserati for another repair on the car, and because of the DCA's involvement Anna agreed to reimburse us for 50% of the work in August of 2022. She only made half of the first installment and did not make the second one. I have left her two emails and voicemails. I am posting the recommendation by the DCA/ automotive review board on 9/25/22. They recommended we take her to small claims and the inspector will turn over his records. Thank you. read more

I always brought my cars here and they've always done well. Honest, fair pricing, on time. The tech was finding it difficult to meet my hours because I needed to be somewhere and was honest about it. So I said no worries, I'll bring another time for the other work needed but I'll still need some work done today. After some thought, he promised to be done by that time for all the service needed. Not only did he meet my schedule but was early! Minus 1 star because there was a difficulty in communication with one of the front desk person some time ago. It was "misunderstanding" after misunderstanding with her and finally we decided to take elsewhere closer to home. In all honesty, I don't know if she still works there. TL;DR: I don't recommend coming to this place because 1) they quoted almost twice the price of other places, 2) they listed an alarming amount of unnecessary services, and 3) they can't even do an oil change correctly. I usually don't leave yelp reviews unless my experience with the vendor was absolutely miserable. So I want to post my review to warn everyone else. I recently relocated from LA to OC so I had to find a new mechanic to take my mercedez for a service B. I trusted the yelp reviews but only found out later that the Auto Clinic recently changed owners and inherited their yelp reviews from the previous owner. Without knowing the credibility of the Auto Clinic, I dropped the car off for a service B ($350) and two hours later received a text message of a list of service that quoted me over $3000. I called the mechanic I went to for years in LA to get quotes on the list of items and the LA mechanics quoted HALF of the price compared to what Auto Clinic quoted for the exact same services. Therefore, I decided to ask the Auto Clinic to only do the oil change (I paid $142) and take my car to my old mechanic in LA. When I took my car to my old mechanic in LA, they told me that the oil was dirty and we would have to change the oil again.. the reason why the oil was dirty could be either the Auto Clinic didn't change the oil or the Auto clinic changed the oil but mistakenly used old oil... The Auto Clinic also claimed that my car had an oil leak but the other mechanic didn't find one or any evidence of one. We called the Auto Clinic to resolve this issue but, as expected, they would not admit the oil was dirty. I understand it's not easy for a small business, but it's not fair for me to pay for an oil change twice or pay double the price of any car repair services!! Also I would really appreciate the Auto Clinic can have some better customer service to resolve issues like this. Bottom line: if you want a car mechanic with price transparency, reasonable prices, good customer service, reliable mechanic, I don't recommend going to the auto clinic. read more

Then you're on your own to find a way back to the shop. The guys who work here have been great. Would be my go to place. Fair priced and good work. I was routed to Mobilex which I guess owns both and Anna was very responsive and accommodating. She got my car in the next morning and had everything in tip top shape by the time I got off work. First time user of establishment. Went in for tire rotation & oil change. Was recommended 100k servicing. Brake pads, coolant, drive belts etc. grand total upwards of $1700. When I asked for breakdown of each item the quote for parts & labor are all tad bit higher than average. For instance, $100 parts charge for replacing 4 spark plugs for a Camry. Cost is $280 including labor. I wasn't able to find a $25 spark plug for a Camry anywhere online. Even from the maker they claim to have got them. One example but pretty pricy overall. They gave me a 20% discount after inquiry. Which brings the total down to a little higher than average but still not so reasonable range. If it wasn't for the discount definitely not worth the service...... Very responsive & quick service though. Assuming everything was done completely. So 2.5 stars. Neither recommend or complain. Nice place if you need service in a crunch but with a relatively high price without discount. Will I be a repeater? I don't know. Maybe not. read more
