Professional, Thoughtful, Considerate, My daughter is off at college and her car started burning something out of the exhaust. From what she described, I was thinking a blown head gasket or rings. Normally I do all of our car work but, being off at college, it wasn't practical. One of her professors recommended Mobile Tech. She took the car in and asked them to look it over. My daughter also commented to me that, when she brought the car in, they didn't talk down to her like some guys do when talking to a woman about cars. They took the time to answer her questions without being condescending. Rob Harris was her mechanic. He noticed that it was up for inspection so he gave it a little more attention. His report noted the things that her car NEEDED. He could have up-sold me on a few things that I know it could use but he didn't. When I mentioned them, he agreed that it would be a good idea but he was addressing her car's immediate needs. She need a new radiator and the breaks were nearing end of life. I let him know that I could do the breaks but wanted them to do the radiator so she could drive it home. I though for sure it would be a week to get the parts and work it in. He said the car would be ready the next day and it was. There's more. Rob had some other good advice about the car which I appreciated. But that was enough. I spoke with Rob a few times on the phone about the car and every time I hung up I felt like the car was in good hands and my daughter was being taken care of the way I would want her to be treated. read more

My car needed a speedometer calibration test. After calling Mobile Tech, I was told they could test my vehicle. After making the appointment for August 19, 2021, and spending hours waiting, Mobile Tech does not have the testing equipment to professionally test your speedometer. I did not know until after receiving the receipt on August 23, 2021. If I would have known they were going to drive my car around the shop, I would not have allowed them to "test my car". After spending over 20 years in the Army, I clearly understand what people tell me. Mobile Tech did not tell me the shop did not have testing until after I received the document. I use the WAZE APP and know what it indicates when it comes to my speedometer. read more

tried to get some easy emergency help and they turned me down without even looking at my car

I've used this location twice now. I have a Nissan rouge that I bought used which was apparently a lemon. I thought I was going to go belly up in the car because I couldn't afford the crazy prices all these other places were quoting me at because they basically wanted to repair things until they accidentally stumbled onto the fix because they didn't know what was actually wrong with the car. I've had to have the final drive assembly replaced and now the transmission (cvts are known for their issues apparently). They quoted be lower than all the other shops because they actually knew what was wrong with the vehicle and they helped me go through where I financed through to help cover the repairs which I didn't even know you could do. On top of that all of the people there (I've gone through mark who is especially great) are so kind and talk to me (a young female with no understanding of cars) with complete respect and support, no belittling or talking down like many other mechanic places. They keep in depth notes and their diagnostics check like everything when you bring it in for the one issue. They have quick communication, thanks to the online service they provide via email. And one of the best parts is almost all the repairs they do they give a warranty on with no additional cost (to my knowledge) so I don't have to worry about the same issue happening twice. Overall it's a great place and I don't think I'll be going to another mechanic. And I couldn't have had such a great experience in such a hard time without Mark's help. 100/10 recommend. read more

I am the person who takes care of the cars in our family, we take all three of our cars to Mobiletech. Both locations are excellent. It is so nice to have someone I trust that will help me figure out how to get what needs to be done at the right price and when. They have helped me with their pre-purchase inspections as well. I wouldn't consider buying a used vehicle any other way. They check it all and give you a full coverage answer. I'm glad there are two locations now also. I think they care about what they do. If you want an honest place to take your car , please don't go to either location of mobile techs. They are very unprofessional and destroyed my trucks car door when we left it there, and they are telling us that we left it broke. Unbelievable!! We can't even get in the passenger side because door won't open, they clearly did something as nothing was ever wrong with the door. They are very sketchy and don't really care about the customer at all. My truck has been sitting there for 3 days while we are waiting for the owner to call us back re the door, well guess what he never called and now it's Friday afternoon and they are closed and the truck will be there all weekend. We use that truck for work, and now we can't work over the weekend. The most unprofessional outfit I've ever seen. I will def. take them to small claims for what they have done to us. Now we are losing money on top of it. WARNING STAY AWAY FROM BOTH OF THESE MECHANICAL SHOPS! We have had other issues with them in the past too, but kept going back giving them the benefit of the doubt, never again. read more

Took my truck in to have the A/C worked on. When I dropped the truck off I explained to the manager the the high side port was leaking and the system needed to be emptied, the high side port needed to be changed and then charged and inspected for leaks, even took the parts in to them. After 2 1/2 hours of waiting they said I had a bad a/c line and they couldn't fix it without replacing the entire line. They charged me $127 to charge the system just to watch it leak down because they didnt even change the leaking port. Didnt even give me my parts back. Went to another shop in town explained to them the exact same thing and within 1 hour the had replaced the high side port which I was told mobile tech couldn't do. They charged the system put due in it and the a/c is working great. Makes you wonder? Contacted Stephen at mobile tech and questioned him on why they couldn't do it and got the run around, not professional at all. They even sent me an email for estimates on work they said need to be done for $1900 but could fix the issue on the truck I brought it in for. Just remember always get a second opinion from another place. They didn't even offer a refund or much of an apology. Bad business ethics. read more

Most excellent!!! I'm very happy with the periodic maintenance work done on my car at Mobile Tech. My Mercedes had catastrophic engine failure do to a Mercedes Benz issue which has been ongoing for years. Naturally MB turned their back on me. Long story short they installed a low mileage engine without the same issue. They were incredibly in tune with my needs. They were fast & kept me informed of everything, I would like to add the car was flawless considering it had an engine change, not even a scratch! They also assisted me with some cash back with an engine additive (BG) that I purchase when I change my oils. I can not say enough about the auto mechanics & auto writers either. Dave and his staff are the best in the business. I have used many shops over the years, but I have finally found my forever shop. There is no job that these guys are unable to perform. Just the other day I took my car in for an oil change and Dave noticed my broken key fob and asked if I wanted a new one. I told him that for the $396 that the dealer had already quoted me that I was going to hold off. He then asked me if it was $196 would I replace it. I said yes and 15 minutes later I now have a new, working key fob. My neighbor recommended me a little over a year ago and I now look forward to going to get my car serviced now at Mobiletech. Dave told me to give him just 10% of my trust and that he would earn the other 90%. He has earned 100% of my trust in the 5 times I have been there and could not be happier. read more

I first used mobile tech when my daughter started college at UNCW. I had installed an engine in my daughters car prior to her starting her first year. The belts had stretched a little after the first month of her driving the car and they needed to be adjusted. We found mobile tech and they gave me a fair price so I started using them for oil changes. Keep in mind I live in Richmond and need somebody I can trust. I have been a mechanic for over 30 years autos and aircraft. I'm not just some shade tree mechanic. The next oil change my daughter took her car back. This time I received a call with Dave telling me that was a terrible oil leak and the CV joint needed to be replaced because the boot was ripped. The estimate was $1500. I declined and I had my daughter bring the car home to me I did not find an oil leak however there was oil residue on the bottom on the oil pan. The cause of this was from the use of synthetic oil in a vehicle with oil seals designed for conventional oil. The CV joint boot however was in perfect condition. I called Dave and spoke to him about this and he said that he had not actually looked at the car and that the mechanic who gave the evaluation at since been let go. I gave my daughter my Honda accord and I continued to use mobile tech for oil changes and tire rotations. I just recently had a set of tires installed on my daughters car and they called me to tell me they could not find the wheel lock key. I explain to them that they were the only ones doing maintenance and the key must've been lost by them. They explained to me that there was a note in their system that the last time the car was serviced the key was missing, I asked why they never called me for this, because it this point they wanted to charge me $50 extra to remove the wheel locks. They also explained to me that they have Master lock keys for Toyota and Honda. My daughter has a Honda Accord. So they were going to charge me $50 to use a tool they had in their possession. I paid the additional $50 and requested to speak with Dave and he has yet to return my call. Needless to say I will not use mobile tech again. read more
