From what she described, I was thinking a blown head gasket or rings. Normally I do all of our car work but, being off at college, it wasn't practical. One of her professors recommended Mobile Tech. She took the car in and asked them to look it over. My daughter also commented to me that, when she brought the car in, they didn't talk down to her like some guys do when talking to a woman about cars. They took the time to answer her questions without being condescending. Rob Harris was her mechanic. He noticed that it was up for inspection so he gave it a little more attention. His report noted the things that her car NEEDED. He could have up-sold me on a few things that I know it could use but he didn't. When I mentioned them, he agreed that it would be a good idea but he was addressing her car's immediate needs. She need a new radiator and the breaks were nearing end of life. I let him know that I could do the breaks but wanted them to do the radiator so she could drive it home. I though for sure it would be a week to get the parts and work it in. He said the car would be ready the next day and it was. There's more. Rob had some other good advice about the car which I appreciated. But that was enough. I spoke with Rob a few times on the phone about the car and every time I hung up I felt like the car was in good hands and my daughter was being taken care of the way I would want her to be treated.
