I just got home from having my Jeep JK regeared to 4.56 gears, including adding an Eaton e-locker in the rear and a Powertrax Grip Pro torsen LSD in the front. Mobilegear installers are a small team of guys who only do differential work. They were able to beat the pricing of multiple shops including the major players in the off-road market. To be honest, after having them perform the upgrade and being able to watch them work, I would hire them over the regular shops even if the pricing was the same. Another major plus to consider: When Mobilegear Installers are working on your vehicle, you get their undivided attention, they don't have a bunch of cars on lifts; it's your vehicle and that's it until the job is done! That alone is reason enough to hire Mobilegear Installers. They had two guys working on both differentials at the same time. My appointment was at 8:30AM and they had me on the road at 10:00AM. After they finished the work they talked me through the break-in procedure and even sent me a YouTube video on the same topic for my later reference. Communication with mobilegear installers was excellent throughout the the process. We communicated via text and through emails. Ray, was very responsive and gave me a quote and scheduled the installation two weeks later. They followed up with reminder texts as the appointment time neared. Very sad day to have to write this review and I hardly ever write reviews but I feel like this needs to be known. I had set up an appointment with Martin's Mobile Gears for the 20th of June 2020. I sold something important to me to be able to pay this company for a gear install on my truck. The morning after I had got my install date all situated I asked if it would be possible to change the gear provider for my installation. So simply change from one gear manufacturer to another. The response I received shocked me! I get they are busy and maybe stressed which I hope would not be reflected in their work however it did show in Martin's treatment of his customer. I was told that my appointment had been canceled, my gear order was canceled, and Martin the owner does not want to do business with me and I should find another location to get my install done. This is after we had discussed a cash deal of $1600 for Revolution Gears and I was told they made an exception for me and scheduled a Saturday appointment despite the fact that they also had others scheduled for a Saturday appointment. So I was a bit confused as to how "special" I am considering they had other customers scheduled for a weekend install. The following emails I received from Ray who I am sure tried his best sounded condescending to me and left me with a not so good feeling overall. As I do have heart disease I tried not to get too worked up over this situation and I wished them the best in their endeavours. Whatever response comes in reaction to this post is ok with me I do understand this most likely will not sit well with Martin, Ray, and Martin's Mobile Gear Installation but it is the truth and it did happen. How has this become a world of "The Customer is Always Wrong"? I just wanted to know if I could choose a different brand of gears for my truck. I hope the next guy is treated with a bit more respect and better customer service! read more
