AJ got us out of a serious bind on our road-trip! He responded quickly when I called, and was able to fit us in the same day. I have babied my Subaru Outback and was a little reluctant when I found out AJ works from his mobile mechanics van, but after we spoke, I trusted he would do a great job, and he did! He was very fair and trustworthy through the whole process. He met us at our hotel, and did the job right there. He communicated very well with us every step of the way. Our "AT OIL TEMP" light came on in my 2013 Subaru Outback. Which basically meant my transmission fluid was old or low. I didn't realize with Subaru, that you can't even check the transmission fluid, nor does the dealership check your transmission fluid for you unless you ask. Apparently you should flush and fill with new transmission fluid every 30-40k miles. This had NEVER been done on my 115,000 mile outback. The fluid that came out was black, and smelled really bad. I was actually pissed that the dealership had never told me this. I assumed they always checked transmission fluid with oil changes and servicing. AJ did his research and brought the correct transmission fluid for my fancy-ass subaru (ugh @ $13/qt). Basically AJ saved me from having major transmission damage, which would have cost huge amounts to get fixed. AJ and his wife Lisa are awesome. You are in good hands with them! read more

If you want an unsafe vehicle on the road and to throw your money away- this is the place to go. SAVE yourself the headache and find a REAL mechanic that stands behind his word and his work. Most incompetent mechanic I ever used. Had my car over 40 days. Fixed things without asking first and ran the bill up. Broke more than he fixed. Invoiced double the actual costs. Forgot to black out the shipping (10$) on the parts receipt and put $20 on the invoice after blacking out the parts prices. I am a disabled senior who trusted them to help. Now my car is unfixable. It sat in an alley with the windows down and the key in the door panel. There seems to be no shop. No legally posted signage and no ethics whatsoever. I feel totally robbed. 850 dollars charged for nothing. Now I have to pursue legal remedy through a lawyer and they still have my car. Worst auto repair experience ever. Pretty sure they write their own good reviews cos they all sound just alike in format. Straight up cons. Will update review after court. They claim everyone screws them and I can see why. They sure screwed me. Give them the chance and they will screw you too. If they would do this to a disabled senior they will do it to anyone. Smh. Beware. read more

On a drive from Reno to Colorado, our car broke down outside of Battle Mountain and we got towed into Elko. Everything in Elko is closed on Sunday so we thought we would be stranded longer than we'd hope, but Mobile Wrenches answered our call for help. Picked us up from our hotel, drove us to our car and diagnosed the problem. He was very kind, friendly, and went out of his way to help us. Although he wasn't able to do the work necessary to fix our car due to the extensive damage, he helped us in every way possible and even drove us back following the diagnosis. Traveling from Indiana to Boise via Tahoe this past week when on Saturday evening my Honda's alternator went out. Got my mini-van towed to Elko, NV. Googled Sunday Auto Mechanic the next morning and up popped AJ of Moblle Wrenches. Without going into every detail of the experience I can unequivocally say that I had one of her best experiences ever with an auto mechanic. Left a message for A.J. at 9:30 AM Sunday and was back on the road by 12:30. AJ was responsive, prompt, honest, nice and an excellent mechanic. What we feared would be a couple day layover turned out to be a two hour delay due to AJ'a awesome work. Recommend him very highly if you are just passing through or if you live in the area. Driving through on our way from San Francisco to Salt Lake and heard a metal scratching noise on our front passenger side wheel. Incredible customer service and professionalism. Our vehicle developed alternator problems between Winnemucca and Elko on a Saturday afternoon road trip to northern Wyoming. Stopped at Les Schwab in Elko and they confirmed that the alternator had quit working. They recommended AJ at mobile wrenches. It was now around 3 o'clock in the afternoon and I left a message with AJ. He called back around 4 o'clock and said he would be happy to work on our car but he had an obligation to serve for a funeral at the veterans Cemetery in Wells Nevada first as he was a member of the VFW honor guard. Found out later that he had served in both Gulf Wars as a combat medic in the Marines. AJ finally arrived back in Elko in his dress blues honor guard uniform around 9 PM Saturday night and met us at his shop. While waiting for him we had managed to locate an alternator at a local automotive parts store and have it waiting for his arrival. It was interesting that the parts store also highly recommended AJ when we told them of our plan. By the time AJ changed out of this uniform and into his work clothes it was roughly 9:30 PM on a Saturday night. AJ finished the work on our Audi allroad around 2 AM Sunday morning working straight through the night while we hung out in the shop. He charged us the standard mechanic hourly flat rate, totally ignoring the fact that it was a Saturday night, the job took longer than anticipated, and he could've charged us much more. Two weeks have gone by since the alternator replacement which allowed us to continue our vacation to Wyoming and back home. The car has run flawlessly thanks to AJ's excellent work and integrity. This is a fantastic family business that will really go above and beyond the call of duty. I made a drive to Reno and unfortunately my car broke down and I had to leave it there and travel home for work. Well as soon as I called mobile wrenches they were all over the case. Before I even expected them to have looked at the car they already diagnosed the problem and had already found prices for new parts and even gone to the junkyard to see if they could find me one for super cheap! Also she called me with updates at every turn. It was very relieving to know I could break down far from home and still be able to find honest help that wouldn't gouge me just cause I was from out of town. And to top it off they even hand delivered my fixed vehicle to my hotel when I came to pick it up in Reno. Simply outstanding service. If you are in need of any honest mechanical service in the Reno area I would highly recommend these guys, and I think you will know just after a few minutes on the phone with Lisa.
