my experience with mobile kangaroo was very pleasant although not quite perfect. i guess no one ever _hopes_ to find themselves at a cell phone repair shop, right? you see, a long time ago, i accidentally let my htc incredible fall out of my son's jogging stroller while we were jogging. the touchscreen digitizer cracked. i actually should have tried to get it fixed under warranty, but i was stupid. in fact, i really wish i had simply bought the insurance plan for my phone. you see, i bought insurance for my wife's phone but not mine. since she has the same phone, i was tempted just to file an insurance claim, pretending that my phone was her phone; but no, i realise that would be wrong; so i didn't. instead, i went online and bought a replacement touchscreen digitizer from some shop in las vegas. the owner of the shop posted up a how.to videos on youtube for taking apart the phone. i set aside a couple of hours to fix the phone on my own while watching the video. however, the video was incomplete. once i had removed the circuit boards, i was still left with a broken glass touchscreen stuck to the plastic housing. argh! i did some more research and learned that the procedure was similar to that for an iphone, and that it simply took lots of patience and a bit of a delicate touch. *sigh* well, i gave up at that point and decided to hire someone to fix the phone for me. i posted up a craigslist ad and got some responses. i forget if mobile kangaroo responded to my ad or if i specifically e.mailed them. anyway, they came back with the best price. add on top of that the yelp 15% discount, and it was a no brainer for me to go with them. well, i sat on the quote for ages and held off fixing my phone because i was simply too busy; and the phone was totally working, just super ugly (like, _fugly, i guess). they aren't open on sundays, which i guess makes sense; but i first tried to visit them on a sunday. it's good to take sunday off, you know? well, if i ever find free time during the week, i don't want to waste it at a cell phone repair shop; i'd rather be skateboarding! months passed. then i finally had a chance to swing by the shop on a weekday. the employees there were superfriendly and superhelpful. they were very honest and straightforward; definitely very genuine people. they accepted my quote and the 15% yelp discount. they i swung by at lunch, and they said they could have the job done by 5:00 pm. that was cool. when i returned in the evening though, they didn't have good news for me: apparently, while fixing my touchscreen digitizer, they broke my lcd panel. they said the panel had a very small crack that spread. at the same time, they admitted that the lcd panel was totally working when i brought the phone in. they said they would have to replace the lcd panel and already ordered the part. they said i would have to pay for the replacement lcd panel; but they knew it was a bad situation, so they gave me a greatly reduced price. i'm guessing i was just paying their cost. they said it would take three days to get the new panel in. they offered me a loaner phone. they also loaned me a car charger. well, i couldn't get the loaner phone or the car charger to work. thus, this was a bit of mess. however, i must emphasize that they were totally cool and nice about everything. well, a week later, i called them up about my phone. they said it would be done the next day. i showed up the next evening, and sure enough, it was fixed. the guys there let me hang around and use their computer to reactivate my phone. that was nice of them. also, even though i had to pay some for the lcd panel that they broke, the total cost was not nearly as bad as it could have been. originally, i was quoted $40 minus the 15% yelp discount. in the end, i paid a total of $54.50. that's less than i had expected because they told me the retail price of the lcd panel, and it would have been a lot more. anyway, in the end i had my touchscreen and lcd panel back. they touchscreen actually has a dead zone towards the top. however, i know that's not their fault. the stupid shop in las vegas that i ordered the screen from online must have sold me a defective part. i read online that defective touchscreens are a somewhat common problem with the htc incredible. oh well. in a way, i just traded one problem for another. however, since cell phones don't really last these days for much more than a couple of years, i don't plan on trying to fix it again. it's an imperfect situation; but i'll still give mobile kangaroo a good review because they tried the best that they could and they were very nice and provided very friendly service throughout. read more

Scheduled an appointment through Apple for a same day repair to replace the damaged screen on my iPhone 7+. The appointment was for 5:40pm and my email confirmation reaffirmed that I was scheduled for a same day repair for my cracked screen. Unfortunately when I arrived at Mobile Kangaroo they told me that its an over night repair and that I would have to leave my phone with them for pickup the next day. read more

Although my initial experience was quite annoying, I have to say that Vosh really stepped up and went out of his way to make everything right after I posted my original Yelp review. First of all he gave me my money back on the repair. Then he dealt straight on with the problems with the digitizer screen they had installed, even lending me his personal smartphone during the replacement process. I knew then that I was going to get a fully functional phone at the end of the day since I knew he wanted his phone back:-) When I went to pick up my phone, he had bought me a brand new one because,even with the new digitizer screen, things weren't perfect. These folks are competent and fair. When they replaced my HTC Wizard motherboard (at a more than fair price) and tried to upgrade the OS to the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 per my request , it failed at the last step (for some unknown reason). They didn't charge me for that experiment; they simply installed Windows Mobile 6.0 (the latest known to work on my HTC model). Always review their service contract, ask them to contact you when the work's done, and check with them the day before they said to expect it: they have plenty of work and need to know if yours is urgent. read more

Absolutely horrible, don't go here. All I was trying to do was get an older iPhone with an particular version of the operating system on it. They flipped-flopped for weeks saying they could do it, then they couldn't. They never called me back, I had to constantly call them,staying on top of them, basically doing their job for them. I think even at Walmart they know that if a customer is waiting for something you should call the customer back when the item arrives. I was asking to have OS version 4.0 installed on a phone, they couldn't even remember what version I was asking for. I mean if they know they have problems with details then maybe they should write things down? Open up Excel, put in the customer's name and what they want/ Problem solved. How hard is that? What kind of tech person doesn't appreciate the difference between 3.13, 4.0, 4.1? If someone is asking for 4.0 it's because they have a good reason. What a joke. Not to mention the endless delays, excuses and what has to be lies. Every time I called them there was some problem, the techs didn't know what they were supposed to do, their address got updated and delivery was delayed, it was endless. But what really irritated me and made me write this review is that Vash, who is like a manager there, said he finally had a phone for me. I was satisfied to just get a refund and move on at that point, but he said he had a phone for me, an iPhone 3G with 4.0 for $400, Kinda high, but it's hard to find and I would get a warranty. So before Labor Day weekend I said great, I'll pick it up when it was ready. He took my number and said he would call me, which he never did, of course. So after Labor Day weekend I called back and they said they sold my phone to someone else because I didn't get back to them in time. What??? They were suppose to call me but instead Vash decides to punish the customer by giving the customer's phone to someone else? Watch out, when things get difficult here they take it out on the customer. They said they left me a voicemail. I never got a voicemail. These guys never called back at any time. That was just a lie. And it doesn't even make any sense. Who would buy an iPhone 3G for $400, except a developer like me that has a specific need for an older OS. So Vash is either a Jerk or a liar, take your pick. I kept after them for weeks and even made a deposit on my credit card so he knew I wanted that phone. Pathetic behavior. And on top of that he lectured me about how much this request was costing the store. What kind of manager says that to a customer? What the h*ll do I care? They don;t know their jobs well enough, what they can and can't do, and he wants to say I am responsible for that? If you can't do something just say so. SOLUTION; Don't go here. Nothing but aggravation and excuses. Go to FastRepair in Palo Alto instead. They gave me an older phone with an older operating system the next day. I had another similar request that they couldn't fulfill, they told me the next day they couldn't do it and that was it. They didn't string me along for weeks and then blame me for their incompetence and lecture me on what I was costing their company. During mean time, I gave them another computer for repairing, very little problem, I even know how to do it, just because I don't have the software. After a few days, they said they can't repair it either, I took it back home, the computer even can't start after their repairing!! read more

DO NOT Go to this place. I took my cell in with a crack screen. What I got back after three weeks was a cell with only half of the screws and with a screen with a red blurred on it like a ghost. I initially went here to get my phone screen and laptop screen fixed. They successfully fixed my phone, and it seemed like they successfully fixed my laptop screen, but then I noticed that the new glass was loosely attached. I went back to have them fix that, which they did with no problem. The screen started coming off again a few weeks ago, and when I tried to push it back into place, it ended up cracking. So I was back where I started with a cracked screen, although I felt like it wouldn't have happened anyway, even if the screen had been attached well. I went in and explained what happened, and they were very willing to hear me out and quick to offer a solution. I talked to multiple people throughout this whole process, and they were all helpful and pleasant. I think their customer service redeemed most of their flaws in actual service provided. That being said, they usually do a good job, but if you have a problem with something don't hesitate to go back in and explain it to them! read more

I have had virus on my computer for months. I had another store roll back Windows10 and they didn't remove the virus (The cost was rather high). I finally got one which wouldn't allow me to pull anything up on the internet and a voice said I had to call a number. I'm so glad I didn't it was another scam. The 1st time I took my computer in Jacob removed that virus, but after rebooting at home the original one returned. I took it back in and Jacob removed it and now it IS FINALLY GONE! It's not very often that I write a review, but this time, it was a must. I was referred to Mobile Kangaroo by Verizon, as the back of my iPhone 5c had started to separate from the phone. I was not in any position to buy a new phone and was hoping this would be an easy fix. I called the shop before coming in, describing the issue. The person answering the phone was extremely pleasant, letting me know he could fix it, the approximate cost, time needed and when the best time to come in was. When I arrived, I found the person who greeted me, Jacob, to be very personable and knowledgeable. Not only was he able to repair the phone right away, it took him less than 5 minutes.
