I don't understand how this place partners with Apple and was referred to come and fix the charging port on my iPhone after I spilled liquid inside of it. I go inside the shop to let him know I made an appointment. And the guy said, "If you have liquid damage in the charging port, you need a new phone." Either he didn't know how to fix the charging port, or he just didn't want to do it. You would think Apple would've referred me to a place that you can rely on to fix whatever it is needs to be fixed, but sadly it's not here. Apple should remove this place from the list of reference. This place is an "authorized" Apple repair vendor. Shame on you Apple. I took my MacBook here from the recommendation of Apple care. My MacBook was having issues not turning on. Dropped my MacBook off and Kangaroo rep said it would take a couple days to run a diagnostic and I paid $75. Few days rolls around and no call. I finally called to ask for an update. Rep said it's ready. I get there and he said it's a bad motherboard and he said it would cost $800 to fix it. lol. I bought the unit for $250 I had my husband take it to another shop and they diagnosed it right away. Reason for issue was my MacBook didn't have enough storage left. Cost was around $200 to get more storage and the labor to fix it. I guess if Kangaroo really did do a diagnostic then they would have known what the real problem was. Never again would I go to these franchise repair services. Will only use mom and pop services from now on. read more

Excellent same day service for my depleted iPhone battery exchange. $29 plus tax with Apple's apologetic discount. I brought my phone in 40 minutes before the time Apple pencilled me in and they were cool with it. Took less than 3 hours to finish and the phone is like brand new. Zero issues. The shop is in a cluster of other shops in an almost apartment complex looking place, right past a mortuary if you're going west on El Camino. Plenty of parking. I had purchased my Macbook Pro in February from another retailer and was already having problems with my keyboard in August. My main issue was that the "O" key got stuck. I was devasted. I called Apple Support and they told me that while Apple could not do repairs due to COVID restrictions, Mobile Kangaroo could. Apple Support got me an appointment the next day. I went to Mobile Kangaroo to turn in my computer for service and I found the inside of the store incredibly clean and sanitized. They have a desk, plexiglass, and nothing else in the store. All customers are required to wait outside until it is their appointment time. Luckily, my computer was still under warranty, and Mobile Kangaroo was able to replace the entire keyboard, battery, and control panel for free! Mobile Kangaroo also kept in constant communication with me through their communication service and they responded to all of my questions in a timely manner. The whole process took around 5-6 days, but luckily I had an older laptop to use while my Macbook Pro was being serviced. DO NOT GO THERE! A year ago my iMac's hard drive stopped working, I brought it there since it's Apple certified. However, this is what happened to me: After the service, they claimed that I didn't bring a power cord with it, but I was 100% sure I did. I asked them to check the security cam but they refused. I had to keep arguing and went back for the 2nd time and they finally gave me a super dirty and old one (not mine). A couple months later when I chatted with friends, I realized that I paid a lot for changing a SSD (a total of $700+). I then checked the model they swapped for me, basically they charged "3 TIMES" of what's sold online (same model), NOT INCLUDING the labor fee! A year later, my "new" SSD is now lagging all the time, even though I've doubled my ram (not through them, never again). I doubt the quality of this drive to be good. Overall they just don't seem to be ethical with the power cord and the price. I will never return to that store. Be careful if you choose to. read more

I too was directed here by Apple authorized dealer during covid store closure. I have no idea how they get the contract from Apple who has an excellent customer service and this place is none of that. This place is geared fully to maximize profit without customer service. I came in for my cracked screen repair and she said it's $99 but when I brought up that I have Apple Care plus and for the defective touchbar and she immediately changed it to $299. I told her just repair the screen and that's when the customer service switched hat and I can no longer just repair my cracked screen for $99 so I left. I took it back to Apple when they reopened and they took care of everything and because of the craked screen that was my fault, only $99 total. The touchbar was under warranty!!!! Very courteous - but a waste of time I have used the Fremont location for all my needs and am very happy. Today i visited the store for a repair (cracked back on iphone x) still under Appllecare warranty. I went there only because that was the location and appointment available thanks to COVID scheduling by Apple centrally. After the diagnostic, i was informed that i need to give my phone for a "test/ validation by Apple - the store would send it to Apple and then inform me of the next steps / decision. Duration 2 weeks and no standby phone. Not acceptable and not wishing to have any argumentative discussion i walked out. Sitting outside in the parking lot, out of curiosity to see and visit another Apple location nearby, Apple online had a Express Repair option. I clicked that and after giving my serial number the rep at the other end on the chat is sending me a REPLACEMENT PHONE - express shipped! This makes me think there is a problem with the Mountain View store running and process. The Fremont store of Mobile Kangaroo has always given prompt fixes as needed or replacement all through the years - even in 2020. The Apple answer and process was customer friendly and solved the problem. I would highly recommend Mobile Kangaroo in Fremont at the same time as the management to review the incident and process in Mountain View. I would avoid it at any cost given that my half day was wasted. read more

The morning of the appt I called the location with no success three times (@ 10:03, 10:05, and 10:10 am) to confirm they had the case in stock before leaving work. At my 10:30 appt I learned they do not stock this product and would have to order it. Expectations not met. So I found this place through Apple using their Genius Bar scheduler and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they could see me the same day. I drove over and talked to the only employee that worked there. I told him that my mid 2014 Macbook Pro with Retina Display was having battery issues and he asked to see the computer. After inspection, he told me that there was no problem with my computer's casing and that he could definitely replace the battery. He quoted me a price of $350. $200 for the battery and $150 for "labor fees". Prior to going to the store, I had looked at people who had batteries replaced in the past and the general consensus was that it would be anywhere from $150-$200 (depending on the computer). I felt like I was being ripped off so I drove over to the Apple store and spoke to their Genius Bar (just walked in and they managed to see me in 5 minutes!). I talked to a few guys there and they quoted me a price of $200+tax for the repair (no labor fee!). A few of them even criticized this place for trying to charge a $150 labor fee. Long story short, this place overcharges the repair cost and tries to rip you off. They are technically licensed by Apple but I would wait the few extra days to take it into the Genius Bar. Saved me $150 dollars. Definitely would not ever consider this place again. read more

Terrible Service! Long story short: I will never go this store again. I made an apportionment for iPhone battery replacement 3-4 days ago. I went to the store in time. The guy said it will take around 3 HOURS. I thought it was fine as long as they can repair my phone properly. So, the guy took my money and my phone and mentioned that they will contact me via my email because they had my only phone. I found a place to stay for this period of idle time, and would make sure my laptop have the internet connectivity. HOWEVER, when I went back to the store, the same guy said that they did not repair phone because they did not have the battery. What the.... why DID NOT he tell this to me at the first beginning? Is this so hard to check the available battery before they accepted the phone for the same day repair. On the other hand, why DID NOT he contact me immediately when he realized that they did not have the battery. Totally waste me time taking my phone here. read more

Update 7/16/15: one of the owners Joseph got back to me after seeing my review. Apparently he wasn't aware of my situation, even though I was told by two of his employees they talked to the owner, maybe there is some kind of communication breakdown. In any case, he thought I was asking for my money $200 back because I was trying to get free service. He initially gave me two options, 1) he'll buy my broken phone for $200 or 2) he can take the screen off the phone and give back my $200 back. He noted his employees worked really hard to fix my phone. I have no doubt they were, but promise was broken. After explaining that I was never offered a loaner phone and had to leave on my trip without my phone, he seemed to understand that I wanted my money back for the pain, stress, and inconvenience they caused. He has refunded my money. I think if you have any issue with mobile kangaroo, deal with the owner directly, not with any of the employees. I feel like the situation could have been resolved much sooner with less hassle, stress and pain if my dissatisfaction was dealt with honesty. --- I had high hopes for mobile kangaroo. I dropped my phone and the screen shattered. I was able to still make phone calls with out any problem. I called mobile kangaroo and Mike assured me that it can be fixed in a few hours once he had the part. I dropped off the phone on Thursday morning, I told him I'll pick it up at the end of the day. I came back at the end of the day. The phone was not fixed. He said the screen wasn't sticking, the glue isn't sticking. Okay, he offered to come in early the next day to get it fixed. I was leaving for a trip the next day and told him, I really need my phone back. I told him I'll be back Friday morning when they opened. Came back at 10 on Friday, the phone was still not fixed. This is a few hours before I had to leave for my trip. He said he needs another 3 hours. I would have given him more time except I ran out of time. At this point, I couldn't even take the broken phone because the screen wasn't gluing. He insisted he'll get it fixed by noon, I asked for a plan B and he finally said he'll get me a new phone by noon. He offered to wave the service fee. I came back at noon, when I walked up to the store, the store OPEN sign was on, but the door was LOCKED, no one was there. I waited until 12:30 until I had to leave for my trip. I had to go on my trip with out my phone. A phone is part of everyone's life, and I didn't have my phone with the good camera to take good pictures. I finally got my phone after my trip two weeks later. Ali, the manager could not give me refund for $200 deposit I paid. Despite the pain and stress they caused me, they thought waving rest of the service fee was just good enough. Without coming to an agreement, I left, even more stressed and disappointed that a company gets away with a fraud. I brought the phone home and noticed the back was coming off and when I made a phone call people couldn't hear me. They offered to "fix" it, but I wasn't going to fall for their lie again. Even with the defects they would not refund me my money. We sent email to the owner to the address Ali gave us and we still have not hear back anything from them. This all happened first 2weeks of June. I was hoping to avoid any more headaches and was hoping to get it all resolved by now. We ended up buying a new phone. Called Palo Alto store to talk to Ali or their owner a few days ago, never got to talk to them. Asked to have the owner at least reply to our email, but I have feeling I probably won't hear back from anyone. This will either force me to take them to small claims court or dispute the charge with the cc company as a fraud. They over promise and under deliver. Not a great experience with Mobile Kangaroo. I was really disappointed with the service and outcome. I have an iPhone 6. The screen was cracked and the battery faulty. I made an appointment for battery replacement and brought my phone in. They said that they can't do the repair with a cracked screen. Fair enough. Their website says that they do "same day screen repairs" and there's a big sign in their office saying they offer same day screen repairs. They do not. Not for iPhone 6s anyway. They don't even offer next day screen repairs. I was told I would have to wait up to a week for my screen to be repaired as they need to ship my phone to another location that has a special machine. Total cost would have been 120$. I bought a screen repair kit for 24$ and did it myself (also PSA: it was really easy and much cheaper- highly recommend doing it yourself). #AdultLegos Thinking that they take walk-ins for battery repair (like their website says they do), I walked in Monday afternoon asking for a battery repair, and was told that I needed to make an appointment. I asked about the walk-in policy; "Not for battery replacements". Or screens apparently... Made an appointment for Tuesday afternoon, walked in, dropped off my phone, and was told to come back in 2 hours. Also provided my email. Came back 2.5 hours later expecting the battery replacement, and they told me that they couldn't do the repair because my phone had water damage. By that they mean, the internal indicator that the phone had come into contact with water was marked. Keep in mind that I just opened the phone up myself and replaced the screen (took it all apart and put it back together and it was FINE). Didn't email me either to come back early and get it either. Kept me waiting instead. Only reason it's 2 stars and not 1 is that the customer service at least wasn't rude. Don't waste your time here. read more

STAY AWAY FROM HERE! I went in because my MacBook Pro wouldn't start. I brought the charger as well because I'm not sure which part was broken. The guy smugly scoffs "it's definitely not the charger" and takes my MacBook Pro. He charges me a $65 diagnostic fee (which seems a bit steep, but hey, it's Mountain View and they have to make money). Since he said it'll count towards the repair, I (stupidly) say yes. A few days later, he quotes me $1700 to fix the ENTIRE logic board. It IS the logic board, but it seemed too steep, so I declined service. As I was visiting SoCal, I went to another place called "J&G Partnership" in Pasadena. They were very friendly and did my diagnostic for FREE. Then we found out together that the MacBook was fine! It was the CHARGER the whole time!?! I WANTED to buy the charger off of him, but he said he didn't have any available at the moment. He just suggested I buy another charger online and sent me on my way. Cost? $0. I paid $65 and almost paid $1700 to replace the logic board of a perfectly fine computer because of Mobile Kangaroo. Will not be coming back, and you should stay away from this place. Clearly, profit is their sole purpose, not helping you. read more
