I would give this 0 stars if I could. Reading some of the other reviews I find it hard to believe that I went into the same place as some of these other people. This morning, I made an appointment to get my phone (iPhone 6 Plus) battery replaced. Unfortunately, when I arrived I was told that they had run out of batteries in the morning. I mentioned that I had made the appointment specifically to get the battery replacement and felt like I had wasted my time when I arrived only to find that they didn't have any. That concern was just shrugged off by the person working there. Fine, whatever, it would have been nice to receive a notification since I had made a note in my appointment reservation that that was what I was coming in for. Strike One. I was then told that they would be getting more batteries in 2-4 business days and asked if I wanted them to reserve one for me. When I replied that I would, I was then notified that I would have to pay for the battery and the service before actually receiving said service, ugh. I don't like paying for something ahead of time as it tends to eliminate any incentive for a shite company to employ quality customer service. Strike Two. The final strike was when I was giving my contact information to the employee so that they could tell me when the battery had arrived. After giving him my phone number so they could text/call me, he asked if I was going to be leaving my phone with them or taking it with me... When I asked "how will I be able to receive the text/call if I leave my phone here?", he just shrugged. Seriously? I would rather deal with an actual Apple Store, so I cancelled the order. Nilesh Solves All! I had dropped off my laptop in August with Taz, along with a My Touch 4G slide. After months of run around, and back and forth---Taz saying he just had to fix one final thing, then I was informed in November that Taz was fired. It took Mobile Kangaroo a while to track down my merchandise, and another employee promised me the items would be fixed and delivered personally to my home. There was then some issue about the additional charges it would cost, but we were able to work out a deal that was good to both of us. I was promised my items would be returned, fixed, within a week. Fast forward to January 2013---still no answer about my items. That day, I requested to speak with the manager. Nilesh called me back within 24 hours. He apologized profusely, ordered a new phone (as mine had been broken by a prior technician), and returned my laptop to me--all within FIVE days of our initial conversation. Granted, it took months to have this issue resolved, but as soon as Nilesh was aware of my situation, he personally handled all my calls and gave me a status update one to two times each day. He was so pleasant to deal with, I wish I had the opportunity to thank him in person. I guess a positive YELP will have to suffice! Long story short: my laptop is like NEW! Apple should de-list from their authorized service list. While they've completed training, their service and policies are inadequate. I had an appointment, drove 25 miles to get here and they told me they cannot deliver on their promise. They refuse to fix corrupted MacOS while i wait. Instead they require leaving the device behind, out of sight, to "run diagnostics" for $99 before they even address any issues. Seriously?? I'm not asking for that, I'm only asking for reinstalling the OS. If that fails to solve the issue, I'm happy to invest time and effort into diagnostics, but not INSTEAD OF what i drove 25 miles each way to do, based on a promise and appointment from Apple. read more

I approached Mobile Kangaroo by recommendation of Apple website. I am happy with the service received. The technician explained all the possibilities about the diagnosis and the repair when it came to repair. Once the repair is finished on my MacBook, the unit is in fine condition. None of the possible loss of data happen and the repair finished ahead of time as the battery and case parts arrived ahead of time. Manager is dishonest. When I asked how much they charge to replace a macbook battery and if it is a genuine battery, he wouldn't give a straight answer to either question and told me to bring it in. When I insisted on knowing if the price was higher or lower than the $130 Apple charges, he said that they charge $250 including labor, and that this is the same price as Apple because the $130 Apple charges doesn't include labor. This is a lie. When pressed on the genuine Apple battery issue, he also said "all batteries will fail" and that you shouldn't expect any battery, even an Apple one to last much more than a year. I needed my battery replaced on my 2016 Macbook Pro, so I took it in on a Monday. I scheduled an appointment and brought it in for servicing the same day. The employee at the front was very polite and efficient with processing my computer and gave me a 3-6 day window within which the replacement would be complete. It was finished by the end of the week! No complaints, just great customer service all around - would come back for more help if needed. read more

I panicked when I couldn't get an appointment with apple but took a chance and couldn't be happier. They needed a week to get the parts and finish the repair, but my macbook is good as new and it had a few different issues. Turned out it was 100% covered by apple care. This place know how to fix I-Phone and Samsung galaxy phone issue, but they do not know how to fix other cell phone that is NOT an I-Phone or Samsung galaxy phone. I brought a cell phone that is not I-Phone or Samsung galaxy and try to have them repair crack screen, they fixed the crack screen but they mess up the power button and the speaker of the phone. I asked if they can fix the power button and the speaker, but they told me they should have not accepted repair my phone at the first place, and will need to charge another labor fee to fix the new issue again. read more

I was charged $212.04 to change the battery in my Macbook Air 13 inch laptop at Mobile Kangaroo Mountain View, CA. When I got home, my husband told me this is far too much. I have just called Apple and confirmed that this service should have cost me $129 + tax for an out of warranty Macbook Air 13 inch laptop. I visited Mobile Kangaroo Oct 22 2018 to account for the price difference, but the supervisor did not email me with an explanation as promised. Mobile Kangaroo will charge you for shipment of the part as well as $50 labor. Basically I was unreasonably overcharged, and I will never visit Mobile Kangaroo again. Apple should make sure this authorized service provider is not ripping customers off. read more

I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews here on yelp. Here is my horrible experience: I gave my mobile (Nexus One) for repair. I have been asked to pay 100$ upfront. Yes, I was stupid enough to make the payment even before they did the repair; I fell for their professional looks and show-off. Then I did not hard back from them. I kept calling and visiting the office for more than 6 months. I always get an unbelievable excuse "We placed the order for a spare part and shipment got stuck at Customs". I collected the mobile and asked them to call me back when the spare part arrives !!! When I collected the mobile, I surprised to see more damage to it. Moreover, they had couple of Nexus One mobiles and they couldn't tell which one is mine. I had to turn-on the mobile and check contacts to find mine. I waited for around 2 more months and I didn't heard back anything. When I visited their office, I came to know that mechanic (who took my mobile for repair) has resigned. After having lot of discussions and arguments with the current mechanic and shop owner, they agreed to give me 100$ credit note which is actually useless (it's actually some plain white sheet with a sign). They say, I can't use that credit note for purchasing and I can't use for big repairs. I can only use it for minor repairs (ex: mobile unlock). They didn't listen even when I say, I don't have any other stuff to get repaired. I would never ever recommend anyone to visit this service center. Was directed to here from Apple support because they have an earlier appointment available. After scheduling an appointment, dropping off the Macbook Pro, this place has gone silent. Of about 15 calls I made after dropping off the laptop, they have picked up my call only once. They don't know the estimated time to complete the repair, because they are waiting for parts to be ordered and shipped. Asked if I can get my laptop back while they wait for the parts. The answer is no. It's been 4 business days and unable to even reach them by phone. My experience, unfortunately, was awful. My Mac desktop had performance problems and I brought it in, expecting the good service noted in the reviews. In short, it took calls to literally six different people, as my calls -- very hard to get through to the specific MK office that I brought the computer to -- were shuffled from one uninformed person to another. They simply had no way to track their work, as the computer itself moved from one office to another. And it took three weeks to get it back (+ another week + to get back to start-up discs they'd asked for and then lost). The problem here isn't honesty; I got a full refund without argument. The problem is that they couldn't get the story straight about what was wrong or how fixable it was, or whether the replacement part was available. So instead of diagnosing/talking through the options/acting on them, the computer bounced from one store to another and the communication was awful. I repeatedly said that my goal wasn't the cheapest fix possible, but a good fix that could be done quickly, but several of the people I talked with kept on repeating the mantra, "We're trying to do it as cheaply as possible so it may take awhile." Not exactly customer-obsessed. My attempt to talk a manager, who could bring a commensense resolution was unsuccessful, despite several requests. My advice: if you need your computer fixed and back to you, go somewhere else. read more

A store tucked away behind the local taqueria, this is the go-to place to unlock that tri-band roaming cell phone you want to use to text your friends back in the Philippines, which is what I did. I also brought my fairly new Nokia phone for service. The guy quoted a ballpark fee, but said that he'd let me know once his boss came in to confirm the fee. The service is great. I didn't have to wait at the shop. The guy just called me to let me know when the roaming phone was ready for pick up. He also informed me of the service fee for my Nokia, and verified if I wanted to go with the repair. That's a huge plus since other places would've done the repairs anyway without verifying with the customer of the fees. You can also purchase new and used cell phones and accessories. Other services: phone repair, recycle phones for cash. And here's a plus: For all you jet-setters out there, you can purchase global pre-paid SIM cards for Asia and Europe. read more

Summary of review: Review is for I-phone 4s screen change due to crack. This review is to point out that you shouldn't expect to get back a phone that is perfect or like original from this store. Other yelpers make it seem like you're going to get a phone that is like original back, but it's not true. PROS: Quick service, was honest to let me know if the parts used was new or not. CONS/Doubt: After installing the screen, the button of the i-phone became wobbly and felt it was deeper in than original. When asked about it, response was that they are not machine, so can't expect it to be like original. I am not sure if this is because of how the button was handled by this professional, and that this could have been prevented, or if it's just like that anywhere you go. From other yelpers, it seems like it should have been like original. The screen ended up with small gaps after new screen installed (less than 1mm gap) on the top left and right side where the screen meets the body of the phone. I was told by the service person that it might be because of the drop that might have modified the body of the phone, therefore these gaps are there. I had heard good reviews so I went in with a hard drive for data recovery. I was given the runaround multiple times, they said they would call and never did. When I finally tracked them down they were all positive and said that they were able to get the data out of the drive and that they needed instructions as to where to transfer the data to Another two weeks passed without any communication with them they reversed their position in that the data wasn't recovered and that it was the final communication about the drive. Far from professional... if you can't do what you said you did at least don't lie and don't give me a runaround. I turned WD support offer down because you said you had recovered the data. read more

So I took my phone in to these guys after the top row of keys stopped working, and had me out the door with a loaner phone (a RAZR, of all things) in about five minutes. The Bearded Russian unlocked my Nokia N95 phone for me in a quick and efficient manner while I waited. He also provided me with a dummy SIM so my phone didn't know it was being hoodwinked. Unfortunately the magic of my dummy sim wore off after a few hours and I had to return the the Russian from whence I came. He directed me to AT&T where I can get a working prepaid SIM to appease my crafty Nokia. The Russian works in a lair full of noisily clicking neon lights and a group of beautiful but depressing fish. The Russian does not clean his carpet. If you get your phone fixed while you wait, bring a book and maybe some hand sanitizer. But seriously, these guys will fix you right up if you need a phone unlocked. There's just something about going in that store that makes me want to giggle. read more

I came here to get my Xbox 360 fixed, so this review is strictly based on that and not a cell phone service review, like the others. My Xbox went on the fritz and I found Mobile Kangaroo via web search, which directed me to Yelp, but all of the reviews were on the mobile phone side, so that kinda threw me off. I wasnt sure if they fixed game systems until I saw the "About This Business" tab. I called them anyway, just to make sure and the person said they did. I took my system to them and right off the bat it was $47 to have them look at it. I agreed and they said that they would call me when they find the problem. It took them a couple days to get back to me and the problem, like with most Xbox's, it was overheating. No RRD, which was good, but to fix it. It would cost me $90 total with the initial $47 towards it. I told them over the phone to go ahead and fix it and they said it would be done within the hour, which was kind of a surprise. It's been a week, but so far so good. They only warranty the service for 30 days, so hopefully it will be ok. Overall the experience was painless. The price is a little steep, only because nothing in the system was replaced and I also wasn't really told what they did to fix it, so all the cost was on the service side. I would recommend them for getting your game system fixed, since it is a legitimate shop. read more

This place is great. I needed to unlock my blackberry bold and they did it right away, like in under 2 minutes. If you need your BB unlocked, I highly recommend them; they are a courteous, friendly staff. Mariel(le) is really the best!!! If you broke your phone, lost your phone, dropped your phone in the toilet... you get the point, and you need a spare phone immediately... they have used unlocked phones. HOLY SHIT(meaning don't waste your time)! false promises, unreliable, no communication, unable to deliver on agreed time expectations, you'll waste your gas and time driving back and fourth because they are unresponsive through phone and emails. I'm really surprised this place is still open. I'd suggest new ownership/management . I never got my money back for incompleted work. I had to contact my credit card company to get reimbursement. It turns out the work I needed could be done for free in minutes through AT&T. These guys were selfishly pulling my chain and exploiting me. I kinda felt scammed. The only thing good is the cool little green logo of the kangaroo. my email directly to them verbatim that was never responded: "I'd appreciate a refund for this service request that was never completed. I brought in a Samsung Note 2 to be unlocked on July 1st with the agreed expectation of having it unlocked in 2 - 5 business days. On July the 6th I physically checked in on the progress as well as on the 7th, 8th, and the 9th. Today being the 10th I was supposed to have the "CODE" emailed by the boss. Unfortunately I do not see the email with the "CODE" provided nor did I see an update of any type of progress from the "BOSS". The device was required to be unlocked by today and agreed upon for international travel. I was being a good and understanding customer by being patient for an "extra" number of days. We've reached the maximum hard limit of exceptions. I'm assuming someone had dropped the ball in this situation but I the customer should not be penalized for a third parties mistake. I hope you also practice being a good and understanding business and refund the charges for the services that were not completed as soon as possible. Please refer to work order 07-01-15-00085162. I brought a new MacBook Pro 16" that had a damaged display and TouchBar. Mobile Kangaroo was great and assessed it for parts replacement. I had AppleCare+ coverage so all parts were covered. The service provider kept me updated on status and the laptop was fully repaired in four days. I liked that they never over promised - they gave me realistic timeframes to get my laptop back....and then fixed it way before normal process time. UPDATE: The answer I got from Mobile Kangaroo about my computer was that the processor's south bridge was not functioning properly. It took almost 2 weeks to give me this answer. I met up with a friend I haven't seen for months and I explain my problems with this setup. His answer, without question, "it's probably the memory". I disagreed considering the situation I had been in with multiple "computer pros" and Mobile Kangaroo. Sure enough within 10 mins we found out the the voltage was the cause of the posting issues. Not the processor. Not the motherboard. This is disappointing because I could have gotten this issue resolved 2 months ago. But it seems like they just wanted to get rid of me because I was being difficult. Granted, I wanted a solution but I see now I never actually got it. Please don't contact me. Thanks. read more
